21 Chapter 21 : The homeless man (Not Edit)

William waited more than 10 minutes but he still did not receive any notification from the Infinite space.

"What's going on?" Suddenly a purple silhouette materialized above Laura's corpse that disappeared in a red light a few second later.

It was his Stand "Purple Soul".

But this time the body of the Stand was cover a dark and evil atmosphere.

William was going backwards, his senses were warning him of immense danger. He looked at Laura's body and noticed no difference.

She's dead, all right.

The Stand disappeared in front of William's eyes.

Then his vision became blurry.

"Mancini, I'm talking to you." William opened his eyes and found himself in a large office shared by several people and turned his gaze to the fat man in front of him.

"Still daydream humf," said the fat man.

"You haven't submitted the reports yet."

William looked at the scene strangely and then looked down at his work computer.

Was it a dream?

He had had a dream about a place called Infinite Space in which he traveled through imaginary worlds such as X-MEN.

He shook his head, it was just a dream.

"Chief John, my report was delayed, my computer had been attacked by a virus during the break."

"Hmmf, apologies, always apologies, there are thousands of young graduates who would like to work for our company, you don't even know your chance...." The man continued to yell at him in front of his other colleagues who were watching the scene with giggles.

Seeing this fat, weak and insignificant man continuing to shout at him his pupils darkened, his hands unconsciously moved towards the fat man's throat. His body showed a slight desire for blood.

The fat man stopped talking, suddenly looking at William he felt like he was facing a wild beast.

A cruel predator !

His legs trembled as William's hand approached him. And no longer able to withstand the pressure, he fainted directly.

William suddenly stopped and looked at his hands.

"What's happening to me?"

"Chief John!"

"William, what did you do to him?!" His colleagues shouted as they approached the unconscious fat man and helped him as if he were their own parents.

Seeing this scene, William felt disgusted. The fat man called John slowly woke up and chased away the employees who had helped him.

He looked William out while shaking

"For assaulting your supervisor, you are dismissed and I will file a complaint against you, prepare you for my lawyer's call."

William didn't know why, but his whole soul was burning with anger.

Unconsciously he kicked the man called John with such force that everyone could hear broken bones sound.

"Agghhhh" shouted John rolling on the ground. William looked at him indifferently in front of the amazed eyes of his colleagues.

"William, you're a savage."

"How can you do that to Mr. John."

He calmly took his things before leaving the company under the barking of the various employees.

Walking in the street, he enjoyed the scenery and walked quietly without any regrets for his former job.

Why do i "do" what I don't like?

He said to himself.

Then he looked at his clenched fists. "Since when have I had so much strength."

But without finding an answer, he wandersed in the streets until nightfall.

Walking home he stopped and looked at The Homeless Man he had never noticed before.

A feeling of curiosity suddenly inhabited him.

Then slowly approached him and asked him a question.

"Sir, how long have you been hanging around in the surrounding streets.,"

But the homeless man ignored her, continuing to smoke a cigarette.

Then he looked at William strangely

"What a funny question and then I ask how that concerns you." Says the homeless man

William sat on the floor next to him and replied "I'm just curious."

The homeless man continued to smoke quietly for a moment and replied.

"It's been seven years."

A few secondes after, William suddenly laughed until tears came out of his eyes.

The homeless man's face was slightly irritated

"If you want to make fun of me at least do it in your thoughts like everyone else, not so blatantly in front of me."

"No, I'm not laughing at you." Says William while continuing to laugh.

The homeless man got up with irritation and stared at William

"So what are you laughing at?"

"7 years I've been passing by you every morning, ignoring you royally while you find yourself on my way."

"It's hilarious."

The homeless man was surprised by what William had just said, he was sit down again and looking at William who stopped laughing.

"What's funny about that?" Asked the homeless man.

"I just realized I wasn't so different from the people I despise." replied William with a smile.

The homeless man kept quiet for a moment and finally laughed.

"I understand what you mean."

"A few years ago, I owned several factories inheriting from my by my dead father, I had married a young and beautiful woman I met during a party at New York."

"I instantly fell under her spell and after several months as a couple I decided to marry her."

"A few years later, we had two children who grew up quickly."

"It was the happiest time of my life, I had a family, people who loved me, friends, beautiful cars and a beautiful woman."

"But one day I left work, rather than going home to take a bath and sleep, I waited for the voice of a man and a woman in my room."

"She was my wife and her lover."

The homeless man took another cigarette and continued his story.

"So I walked into my office and took my gun."

He pointed his finger at a wall like it was a gun.

"Then I killed them down with four bullets."

"One bullet for the man and three for the woman who betrayed me."

"Then I surrendered to the police and thanks to my assets and factories that I sold, I managed to corrupt the prosecutor, judges, media and jurors."

"Sentencing me to only 20 years in prison."

"Then I learned later that I was sterile and that my children were not mine." He took another big puff of smog.

"I was in the hole, but do you know why I haven't killed myself so far." He said as he looked at William's body.

"No" says William

"Because I made countless sincere friends in prison, they were the most despicable people, thieves, murderers and cold-blooded murderers but they had more humanity than anyone outside the prison."

"When I realized this, I couldn't help but laugh like you just did, because of the irony, the people I once despised, bandits I thought I was soulless."

"They helped like no one ever did, at least more so than my old friends who all cut off contact with me after the case."

"But at least this experience taught me that in this world where everything was illusionary, you could only trust yourself."
