The Day When It All Started

An extremely handsome man, about 17 to 18 years old, stood in front of a mansion in a daze. The young man had a lean build and a well defined body. He had an angular face and fair skin. His blue eyes and brown hair stood out the most.

The mansion in front of him was elegant and beautiful. It has a noble aura around it. At one glance, one would feel that it is the mansion of a billionaire.

At this moment, the main door of the mansion opened and a beautiful young girl walked out. Upon seeing the handsome man, her eyes lit up.

She walked towards him and bowed. "Welcome! Young Master Ray."

The handsome young man, or Ray was brought back to reality by her sweet voice. But in the next moment, Ray felt a strange gaze on himself. He felt like a prey being looked at by a huge beast.

Thus Ray looked towards the source and found a beautiful girl in a maid uniform looking towards him… with a strange gaze.

Seeing that Ray was not in a daze any longer, the young maid introduced herself. "Young Master Ray, you can call me Annie. I am the head maid here. Miss Zoe have been waiting for your arrival. Let's go in now."

Ray agreed with a nod. "Sure."

Annie invited him with a gesture and walked in through the huge door, while Ray followed. As he entered, he was greeted by two rows of pretty maids standing on either side.

"Welcome! Young Master Ray."

Ray simply nodded his head but he suddenly felt many strange gazes focused on him. It was quite uncomfortable. Ray could even feel a cold shiver running down his spine.

Thus he quickened his steps and went towards the living area.

A maid that was bowing down looked towards Ray's fleeing figure and licked her lips seductively.

After few seconds, Ray who was escorted by Annie reached the leaving area. There he say a young girl lying on the sofa while scrolling through her phone.

She looked a little similar to Ray, in which they had the same coloured hair and eyes. Obviously, she was a top beauty as well.

But her beauty felt a little otherworldly as if she didn't belong to this world… or not anymore.

The maid Annie walked towards her and whispered softly. "Miss Zoe, he is here."

Zoe, the young girl that was lying on the sofa, jumped up and moved towards Ray. As she saw him, she let out an 'Oh' sound and smiled gently.

"You look just as handsome as ever, Little Ray."

Ray's mouth twitched in annoyance when he heard what she called him. 'She didn't change one bit, huh.'

But still he didn't forget to 'praise' her as well.

"Oh, I see. You still look as beautiful as always, Miss Zoe." Ray said with a smirk while emphasising the word 'Miss'.

As such, they looked at the other in the eyes for a few seconds. As if they couldn't control any longer, they both laughed lightly at the same time.

Zoe grabbed his hand and pulled him towards the sofa. After they both sat down, she asked immediately. "How was your ride? Was it comfortable?"

Ray nodded his head while saying. "Yes, it was indeed comfortable. Afterall the technology has advanced too much. Now even the buses have quite good quality air conditioners."

Zoe said in understanding. "Well technology has indeed advanced by a huge margin."

After they chatted for a while, Zoe remembered something and said with embarrassment. "Opps. I completely forgot to tell you this earlier, but have you heard about a VR game called Eternal World?"

Ray thought for sometime and said. "Actually, I heard many people talking about it in the public bus but I didn't pay any attention towards it."

Ray looked towards Zoe and asked. "Is it something important?"

Zoe nodded her hand and said with a smile. "Yes. About three years ago, a corporation called the Eternal Corporation suddenly popped up literally out of nowhere. As soon as they came in existence, they released the first full dive VR game called Eternal World."

"This game completely took over the market. All the other games were forcebly removed from the stores as no one wanted to buy it anymore."

"For this reason, all the business corporation, big and small, focused on this game. Also, this became a major source for many people to earn money. So no matter rich or poor, they all entered the game to earn profits or simply enjoy the game."

"Thus, it extremely popular. And there is literally no one who have never heard of Eternal World."

When Zoe finished her explanation, Ray appeared to be shocked. He asked slowly just to make sure. "Is there really such a game?"

Zoe nodded her head. Then she checked her phone to see the time and said. "There is still about eight hours left for dinner. So how about you enjoy the game as well. In the meantime, I can finish my work as well."

Zoe looked towards Ray in anticipation and as if she realised something, she added further. "Well, my work in fact is completing a quest so how about you add me to your friends list."

Ray replied almost immediately. "Sure. I would like to give it a try."

Zoe smiled and stood up while saying. "Follow me."

Ray stood up and followed her but suddenly, Zoe stopped in her tracks and turned around with embarrassment. "Umm… Sorry, I forgot to give you your gift."

Saying so she moved towards the sofa and searched all over. At last she found a brand new smartphone under the pillow. She took and gave it to Ray.

"Here. This will be your new phone and a private number is already registered. Also mine and Annie's contact are saved already, so call anyone of us whenever you need."

Ray looked surprised and said with a faith smile. "Thank You."

Zoe immediately followed up. "Now, let's go. I will take you to your room."

Zoe took her through her mansion while showing all the important places. After about 15 minutes, the reached the third floor where Ray's as well as Zoe's room was located. In fact they were next to each other.

Both of them were king-class rooms. Upon entering, Ray realised that his room alone was even bigger than his grandparent's house.

The furniture was elegant and obviously costly. But it wasn't overly decorated or flashy which is exactly what he liked.

Seeing the shocked expression of Ray, Zoe started bragging proudly. "You know what, I personally designed this room according to your liking. So what do you thinking about it?"

Ray replied without thinking. "It's perfect."

Zoe nodded her head as if satisfied by his reply. She grabbed Ray's hand and took him across the room, finally reaching in front of a door.

Although this door wasn't as big as the main door, but it was just as attractive. Zoe smiled faintly and pressed her index finger on the door.

In the next moment, the door opened on its own. Ray immediately understood that this door will open with fingerprint.

Zoe spoke up as if she remembered something. "By the way, it will also open with your fingerprint. So, in total, only you, Annie and I could open this door."

Ray nodded his head in understanding but as if he realised something, he asked Zoe with a wierd gaze. "When did you take my fingerprint?"

Hearing the question, Zoe just gave Ray a mysterious smile. But Ray's body trembled unconsciously.

As Zoe entered the special room, Ray followed as well. Upon giving a quick glance, he realised that there were only a few furnitures including sofa and a table.
