...…..
"..." "..."
Several mysterious figures slipped into the hall of the Yang Sect Registry building, looking for any signs of the boy they had been ordered to kill no matter the cost.
However, when they arrived, the boy was nowhere to be found. Instead, a dumbfounded receptionist was left in his place…
"It looks like he has already made it to the competition grounds," one of the figures muttered, his face twisting with frustration.
"Should we take immediate actions and ignore the rules of the Yang Sect, or report this back to the master and wait for his orders?" he continued, his words filled with uncertainty.
"..."
The second figure, who seemed to be in deep, thought for an instant before he replied, "Let's just wait here. Once the boy wins the competition, we will simply take him down and deliver his head to the Black Tiger Lord."
"Understood," the first figure responded. In a moment, both vanished into the shadows.
"It looks like I have shaken them off for now," Azmodeus muttered while looking at the two elusive men in cloaks from a few hundred meters away.
'Both of them stand in the peak stages of the 20% Tempering Marrow Realm. As confident as I am in my strength, there is absolutely no way that I can take on both of them even while using my brains to fight…'
He wasn't foolish; he knew when it was time to retreat from an extremely tough battle.
However, if Azmodeus's assumptions were correct, then he should be able to surpass both of them by the end of the Outer Sect Admittance Competition.
Ping, Ping.
He emerged from behind a few bleachers and made his way to the gathering area where all the contestants were waiting.
"So these are the people I will be competing against?" Azmodeus remarked, a hint of disappointment on his face.
Of all the other contestants, only a total of five were at the Viscera Training Large Success Stage, while the rest remained at the Viscera Refining Small Success Stage.
'Well, I guess I shouldn't be too surprised, considering that for an Outer Sect Competition, this is already quite good…'
He was disappointed by the lack of a challenge, but regardless of his grievances, the announcer of the competition soon started to speak.
"Is everyone ready for the Outer Sect Admittance Test of the Yang Sect!?"
A boisterous voice boomed across the dozens of rows of stone bleachers as a thin man in yellow robes, standing atop an extended building, used some sort of voice transmission technique to amplify his announcement.
HOOORAAH!
The crowd erupted with excitement at the announcer's words. The thousands of people who had come to spectate this match were quite eager to witness real 'immortals' in action.
"I love you, Mr. Immortal! Please marry me!"
"I want your seed inside me, Mr. Immortals!!"
"Why won't you look my way, Mr. Immortal!? I really want you to stare at me with that menacing glare all day long!"
"Ms. Yang Yu, please look at this declaration of love that I'm about to rain down from the sky on your flawless, supple jade skin!"
Everyone in the crowd was, to say the least… enthusiastic.
"A bunch of perverts," Azmodeus muttered as he tried to blend into the crowd of hundreds of contestants.
He had already informed a few staff members of his arrival, and they promptly started to freak out while agreeing to everything he requested.
'It seems like everyone I talk to is somehow directly related to the Black Tiger Family or in cahoots with one of their subsidiaries…'
He had expected that there would be a number of spies in the Yang Sect; however, he had never imagined that there would be so many!
'It seems like just about every single staff member calls someone from the Black Tiger Family the moment they hear my name,' Azmodeus thought wryly. 'At this point, I'm beginning to think that I'm quite famous around here…'
He chuckled softly before turning his attention back to the announcer, who was explaining the rules of the competition to everyone.
It wasn't long before the announcer got to the end of his instructions and shifted to a narrator's point of view. In a dramatic tone, he started the countdown for the competition.
"3… 2… 1… Begin!"
Immediately, all the contestants clashed against each other in the same square-blocked ring.
The ring itself was sturdy and massive, stretching about a thousand meters in every direction, making it big enough to accommodate all the different cultivators.
However, since the Outer Sect Admittance Test was a relentless free-for-all and strictly kept everyone in constant battle, the fighting ring quickly cracked and shattered under the force of all the fierce attacks being thrown by the various contestants.
HOOORAAH!
The crowd erupted in wild cheers, thrilled by the sight they couldn't get enough of. They just loved watching people get hurled out of the arena by those with superior strength!
Meanwhile, in the VIP stands of the Yang Arena, a few wizened figures sat atop some rather extravagant chairs, watching all the fights unfolding below.
"Who do you think will end up becoming Outer Disciples, Elder Yong?" One of the Outer Deacons of the sect voiced his question, his eyes focused on a particular boy who sat back calmly, watching everything go down with the unfolding chaos.
Elder Yong stroked his long, white-gray beard. His eyes locked onto the same nonchalant boy that Outer Deacon Yang Bin was closely observing.
"I believe that my son will win it all. After all, although that Azmodeus boy is quite mysterious and has taken the entire Outer Sect by storm with his recent 'achievements,' my son is still superior."
Elder Yong's voice echoed with confidence as he shifted his focus away from the black-haired boy and instead watched the ongoing fights of a relatively robust man who was effortlessly throwing all of his opponents with pure brute force!
"…Your son's Super Strength Trait makes the rest of us jealous, you know that?" Another Outer Deacon spoke with a wry smile, clearly envious of this old bastard for having such a talented son.
On the other hand, his son was already on the verge of losing to Elder Bing's daughter…
...….
Some pretty 'interesting' characters among the crowd, huh...?
