21 Chapter 21: Choices / Beast of The Dark

'Should I just spend them all on a single skill?' Lucas thought to himself as he stared at his stat screen.

'Three points could get my <Imbue> Skill up to tier 3... and <Fortify> to tier 5.' Lucas thought as he pondered at what that might just mean.

'Just how many ranks are there?' Lucas thought to himself as he stared at the sleeping Lina who seemed to be changing in some manner.

Instead of the old middle schooler get up she used to wear, some strange clothes had begun to shift across her body creating a simple yet elegant looking dress.

<There are 10 Tiers to everything, User.>

Lucas frowned for a second.

'What exactly is the strength of each tier then?' Lucas asked with a sense of excitement building up inside of him.

<Detecting Clearance Level...>

<Clearance Level is high enough!>

<The following is the average strength of a creature/being of each respective tier (Not including outliers like yourself and others.)>

---

Mortal Tiers:

Tier 0: Average Unawakened

Tier 1: Average System User

Tier 2: Awakened

Tier 3: Hunter

Tier 4: Master

---

Divine Tiers:

Tier 5: Average Late-stage demigod / Champion / Perfectionist

Tier 6: Early God

Tier 7: Gods / Primordial Elementals

---

??? Tiers:

Tier 8: ???

Tier 9: ???

Tier 10: Finalist

---

'...'

Lucas remained silent as he scanned the confusing list.

'I wonder what the definition between an awakened and an unawakened person is... Perhaps it has something to do with a skill they learn at <Tier: 3>' Lucas pondered before the answer popped up in front of him, surprising Lucas even more than he already was.

<The difference between awakened and unawakened is as follows: Awakened have gained access to a skill of tier 3, which is counted as an intermediary skill between the beginning stages of life and the intermediary stages of life.>

Lucas decided to push his limits to see just how much information this new clearance level would give him.

'What is an example of this skill.'

<Searching for most common skill and skill evolution paths...>

<Ding!~ Skill: <Sprint> has been found.>

<When the skill <Sprint>: Evolves to level three through the path of <Advanced Sprint>, the user will be able to choose a skill called <Power: Speed>. This skill makes it to where you are more specialized in the aspect of what <Sprint> Is truly about and makes it to where you are more focused on said aspect.>

'Hmm... Truly useful information.'

'So getting to tier three is effectively about choosing a path to go down that you will specialize in. What is stopping us from getting multiple tier 3 skills?' Lucas asked.

<ERROR. The user does not have limitations that a typical system User has. The answer cannot be calculated at this time.>

'This class is getting more and more interesting by the minute...' Lucas thought as he looked at his first-ever class.

'What do rarities and grades mean? If I am allowed to ask of course...' Lucas asked with a far more pleasant tone than before.

'The system seems much more useful than it was before. It actually feels like it is here to help me instead of screwing me over.'

<User has the correct amount of Clearance to acquire this information!>

<The rarities are as follows:>

---

Rarities:

Common: Average and unmodified items

Uncommon: Items with small modifications or heavy tinkering done to them.

Rare: Items with at least one special ability.

Very Rare: Items with at least two special abilities.

Mythical: Items that can be recognized by higher beings.

Legendary: This item's name can be spread far and wide for its power and prowess.

Godly: Even a god would bow down their head to wield such a mighty artifact.

Unique: Varies. All unique items are unbreakable.

---

Qualities are as follows:

Terrible Condition: Has been used and battered without tune-up for a long time.

Bad Condition: Old yet has been taken care of.

Normal Condition: Standard condition of all items

Good condition: Sturdier than most items and often beautiful in nature.

Perfect: Most would call this item perfect… but not all.

Impeccabile: This item has no fault

Unbreakable: This item's strength and durability know no bounds.

---

'Fairly Useful information...'

Lucas began to compare everything with what he currently had and was baffled by how strong he seemed to be.

He had an item that was Legendary and a skill that was Mythical! That seemed bonkers compared to the ratings that were provided. Mythical seemed to be useful even against higher beings while legendary items are most likely feared by them!

'That makes sense why I was able to ward off Nyx... But how the hell did I make a weapon like that out of nowhere? I didn't even have any good supplies and it's not like my mana supply is strong.'

'Must have been the Mythical skill <Wish>... Truly my strongest skill.' Luke thought to himself as he prepped himself in his endeavors to decide what to upgrade.

'If I Evolve Imbue it is only natural that I gain more mana to fuel its power... and similarly with Fortify but instead of Mana I would need Stamina.'

'I don't like having the idea to put all my eggs in one basket either... It seems like it should be impossible for me to have a skill at rank 2 let alone rank 5... So the requirements to use the skill must be insane.'

Lucas finally ended up deciding to only use one skill point for one of the two he had chosen and decided to move on to the others to decide what he should choose next.

'Clearance levels seem very important. Knowledge is Power, and Power is the Key to this world.'

'So I think I will set one point aside for <Ancient Sense> to increase my clearance and perhaps even increase my knowledge at the same time.'

'But combat prowess is what I really need right now so what skill should I choose...' Lucas thought to himself before finally deciding to take a look at the new skills he had gotten prior since they seemed to be relatively useful for combat.

---

<Fighting Stances: Hunter Style: Tier: 0 / LV: 1 / Rarity: Uncommon>:

Your moves have been honed from killing and your moves have developed a style. Using a little bit of stamina per strike, you may deal an additional 5% damage in all physical and finesse attacks. This can be turned on and off at will.

---

<Accelerated Healing: Tier: 0 / LV: 1 / Rarity: Rare>:

Your body can heal past the limits a standard person would be able to. You regain more health from healing effects and regain a small amount of health every minute.

---

'Not too strong but they are only tier one...'

'Fighting stance seems like it might just be something I could leave on at all times currently with my current amount of stamina while Accelerated Healing is a great passive skill.'

'There is also <Fighting Style: Psychic Club> which does increase my fighting prowess quite a bit but to use it I would have to increase my Psionics stat.'

After a long time of thinking, Lucas realized it was getting dark outside and decided to finally make his decision.

'I want to allocate one of my skill points into <Fortify: Rarity>, another into <Ancient Sense>, and my last one into <Accelerated Healing>'

'I know Accelerated Healing may be a little underwhelming but it might just be what I need to live through the night.'

'As long as I'm not attacked all the time I should be able to recuperate from injuries and lost stamina quickly.' Lucas thought with a smirk on his face.

<First the System is evolving <Fortify: Rarity>

<ERROR. EVOLUTION BLOCK REACHED>

Lucas frowned at the sight of the text.

'Isn't there not supposed to be a block for me with my class?' Lucas asked the system but before he could finish, red text appeared and a new pop-up changed the main interface.

{Admin Override}

<Unique Evolution Proceeding>

---

<Please choose one of the following 3 skill options. Remember, the path you take will be opened for all others in this world (Unless the skill is unique) so please be careful!>

<Archetects Fortify: Rarity / Rarity: Very Rare> <Evolution Path Blocked>

This skill allows the user to change buildings as well as items into masterpieces. Materials will change to accommodate new rarity as well as the quality of craftsmanship.

<Fortuna's Find / Rarity: Mythical> <Evolution Path Blocked>

This skill allows the unique items that the user owns to be much more powerful compared to other items in the same rank. All unique items that the user crafts cannot be used/replicated by other users. Chances for a unique item to come up during crafting is doubled

<The Hammer of The gods / Rarity: Unique> <Evolution Path Blocked>

This skill makes the user the hammer that affects the anvil that is in this world. The user may use this skill in large regions to improve it in a minor way. This region cannot be more than 100 miles in size. In addition to the previous ability, Items the user makes gain more favor from the gods. The user gains one additional divinity when this skill is gained.

---

'Holy shit!' Lucas said as he felt his knees go weak at the sight of a mythical skill, but after reading it he quickly regained his strength in dissatisfaction.

'I thought <Fotuna's Find> would be a good skill... It seems to only be useful for those who are actually good at making things instead of relying on skills.' Lucas thought to himself while beginning to feel self-conscious.

'Either way, the skill cannot help me now so I better not choose it.'

'However, the go-to skill should be the last one even though the first one is appealing. Divinity just feels like it is too good to pass up...'

'I suppose that will be what I choose.'

<User has learned the following skill: <The Hammer of The gods>>

<The user has earned one Divinity and has increased his favor with the gods.>

Lucas was about shout in happiness until he realized something. Lucas had been leaning against the window up until this point and only now had he thought to look out of it. And what he saw horrified him.
