Dancing In The Shadows Part-1

Unaware that his family was trying to desperately find him, Aavesh kept hopping from Place to Place via Chaos Portals and avoided sudden Demon Patrols and Other People while occasionally distracting Demons who were chasing Humans.

For now this was all he could do - He needed to quickly upgrade his level and not cause too much of a commotion by wantonly slaughtering demons, lest they send a stronger force here , implicating others.

The Safehouse was in the nearby Old Camner Town, which was a small settlement placed in a colonized open field surrounded by Dense Forests on All sides. Sarkon did have connected land routes but, each land route was carved through the forests and it was paved very carefully.

Sarkon did not have any major Industrial Resource, It was a Quaint habitable Planet Despite its odd spirituality. They could not afford Highly advanced Spirit Energy condensers to create a suitable environment for A.G.E and other forms of Cultivation, Plus no major Corp. or Merchant Alliance wanted to invest.

They could only rely on Maintaining the Natural Ecosystem to ensure Universal Spirit Energy or U.S.E Density remained optimal for Energy Warriors! One thing that seemed strange was none of the Trees had become infected with Abyssal Energy yet and stood as a Final Bulwark against the Planet's Chaos Infection.

It might be because Denizens of Sarkon took good care of the Environment and ensured Pollution Levels were minimal or maybe the Planet Did not Like the Abyss, for whatever reason the Chaos infection was stopped, it prevented the Demon Lord from starting Large Scale Disasters by Controlling the Broken Laws!

To Corrupt the planet the Demon Lord would need to start large scale massacres and whittle down the Planetary Terrain with Abyssal Poisons to bringdown the Planetary Defense with Nigh unending reinforcements from the Abyss - Besides the real heavy hitters had not arrived on the planet yet - once they arrive - only blood and bones would remain.

It would take just 2 days atleast to amass sufficient forces and abyssal Energy to affect the Planet completely.

Therefore before the 2 Day Deadline , Aavesh had to close the rift no matter WHAT!

With a Determined Look Aavesh opened the Last Chaos Portal that Led to the Town Border. As soon as he stepped out of the portal, he could see smoke rising from beyond the 30 ft steel walls of Old Camner Town. His sharp senses picked up variety of smells of blood , smoke and poison! - He could hear the sounds of battle and cries of people desperately trying to survive along with the heartless roars of the Demons.

The Defense Systems and the Energy Shield was down - the Automatic Turrets were offline, it seems the Demons had already assaulted the Def Sec Quarters of the Town, it would just be matter of few hours before the Town gets overwhelmed by Demons.

Aavesh eyes turned cold as he released his black inhuman claws from his fingers and leapt at steel wall - piercing it.

*screech *Thud *Thud *Thud!

He began to climb the wall quickly as the sounds of metal being pierced would definitely attract attention . As he reached the Electrical Fence on the Top, He then propelled himself above the fence as he went past it, His Blood Rushed and Time slowed down in his mind as he soared in a parabolic fashion through the air.

His irises moved around as they could now see a good chunk of the town, there were no humans nearby - probably had gone to hide within shelters , Some houses were lit in flames and some were broken down as if being smashed by a huge force.

A toxic Purple Mist was gathering on one side corroding everything that it touched, sounds of fighting appeared strongly on another side , it seemed that town Defense Forces were still trying to put up a fight even if they lost the Def Sec Quarters.

He then re positioned his arms and body forward in a diving position as he began to face ground and performed a backflip as soon as his claw like hands touched the ground.

However just as he got up and stood - his right arm reflexively caught something mid air on his right. He clenched his left fist and pulled the invisible thing inwards as his left arm swung back for a full force punch at the invisible entity.

His fist collided with mildly strong armor as black Purplish blood began to spurt out of thin air and along with some non human innards flying out.

*Ka Cha

A sound of runes and bones breaking came - as a shimmering dark shadow like being came into view, its stealth runes had been forcibly broken by that punch, In Aavesh's right hand was a long Hunting Dagger made of Abyssal Metals. He grabbed it after the punch loosened the shadow being's grip on it.

"UFFFHHBLUFUFFFRGH!!"

The Creature Kept vomiting black purplish blood as it struggled to get up, it had a skinny tall body with 3 Red pupils on its face, its entire body was covered with wriggling dark cloth with only its eyes visible.

"Shadow Demon"

Aavesh said in a calm and cold voice as he recognized the creature before him.

It was one of the Standard Rogue class units of the Boundless Abyss - these beings did not have much endurance or brute damage but instead were endowed with insane flexibility and stealth magic.

Also known as Ombre Demon Race, they represented the footmen of the Fearsome Abyssal Assassins, No wonder the Town lost its Def Sec Quarters - These Guys were very intelligent unlike other footmen and were excellent infiltrators for places with Low Security.

~If these Guys came then they must have sent the other 3 Standard Units as well, it would explain the damages and the constant fighting as well~

A Grave thought appeared on his mind, as he immediately took the Abyssal Knife in his hand and pierced the Shadow Demon on its head before it let out any more sound. He then Absorbed its Blood Energy as dark glow appeared on his body and eyes turned reddish.

He was able to now simulate the abilities of those he consumed, although only temporarily - with the new red vision he was able to invisible alarm traps laid out by the deceased Shadow Demon - It seems now he could probably see other Shadow Demons as well.

But this ability simulation would last only around 10 minutes once activated, He could use it to move around quickly and maybe kill other shadow demons as well, It would stop the town from getting destroyed due to subterfuge and he could restore Power and Defense Systems to give the town a fighting chance.

His Red eyes glowed a bit as he used the Stealth Ability of the Shadow Demon.

Dark shadowy tendrils enveloped around Aavesh as he disappeared from Regular Vision, Now in full stealth Aavesh then walked towards the corpse to find the location of the Other Shadow Demon's with Blood Locator Runes. He then lifted the corpse of the Shadow Demon with his left hand and then pierced its chest to rip its dead heart out with his right hand.

He then used the left over blood from the corpse to draw 2 pairs of dark blood runes mid air infused with Abyssal Energy and pushed one pair within the Dead Heart and the other he infused it on his left wrist.

The Heart then immediately started beating violently as it began to levitate into the air and bulged becoming hot red iron in color . Aavesh then controlled the heart with his mind and sent it high in the sky. He then interacted with the runes on his wrist which triggered the heart to start beating mysteriously.

Its beating released invisible waves that spread across the Town and 5 more waves appeared to reflect back. This spell was a unique Demon Hunting Rune Spell that had been developed to detect creatures of the same race in the vicinity using unique waves formed by special runes in the Creature's Heart .

These waves would travel around a good distance and trigger similar waves if it encounters the Same Species. These waves however were visible to the caster alone, But it was a not exactly recommended due to the need to absorb Abyssal Energy and condense blood runes on the wrist had a high chance to poison the caster.

So some specialized tools were created to remove direct contact with the Abyssal energy and the Blood Runes, obviously they were not available now as they had not been created yet. Luckily or Not, Aavesh was now practicing a Demonic Sutra that allowed him use this spell complete impunity.

Aavesh made sure to conceal the heart with distortion and stealth runes as well, he could not risk its destruction before he undid the runes or otherwise the backlash would definitely severely injure him - even immobilze him.

He then looked at the other 5 wave sources with killing intent.

"Well No Time To Waste! Lets Kill!"

Aavesh then executed Shadow Cicada Flicker with his new Shadow Force, He gained immense speed and finesse as he moved quickly around the Street. It seemed this Shadow force greatly boosted his Movement skill, he was able to move 50% faster and could even shadow walk without making significant sounds.

He dashed across the streets again and shifted his focus to Waves coming from above - those Demons were probably taking sniping positions. He leapt up a and grabbed at a building wall and began to climb upward to get a proper vantage view of the location of the waves. He reached the top in no time and observed the battlefield from above.

He spotted 2 waves coming from both 2 opposite buildings surrounding the Town Square where the main fight was taking place. He could even spot 2 Hulking Horned demons fighting with 5 Human Mechas, the other 3 waves were coming from a building across the Town Square surrounded by Large Heavy walls - the Def Sec Building!

He focused a bit more on his vision and discovered a troop of Flaming Vakiis Demons standing on top of the walls with their incredibly hard lava armor and they kept spurting fire at Armor Masters who tried approaching the Def Sec Building.

That one Shadow Demon he killed a minute ago was probably patrolling and must have gotten attracted by the Sounds of him climbing the Town Steel Walls. He needed to take out the Shadow Demons on the Opposite Buildings to stop them from giving support to the Hulking Horned Demons, then he needed to sneak into the Def Sec to Restart Power.

Aavesh then stealthily moved towards Shadow Demon who was sniping on the Building On his left. He leapt from Building to Building ignoring the scuffles on the Street Level, as the waves became stronger and stronger till he reached his Target Building, He leapt at it and silently caught the light pipes on the Building as he carefully climbed to the top of the Building or Diner - Cole's Diner where the Shadow Demon kept shooting from.

He slowly took a peek and saw the Shadow Demon holding a Shadow Bolter - an exclusive Abyssal Sniper Weapon, available to mortal realms via Profane Deals and InterPlanar Merchants. One Needed to simply infuse The Shadow Bolter with Blood Energy and a hint of shadow force where it would graft its single ammunition - Spiral Penetrating Bullet and aim it at the Target.

This weapon would be of great use to him, as long as he stored some shadow force in his blood, He looked at the Shadow Demon who unloaded another Bullet at a Mech trying to stab at one of the Hulking Demons, damaging its Armor.

The Shadow Demon smirked at the mech warrior who lost the chance to stab and was being thrown back by Hulking Horned Demon, sneering at the Mech Squad with disdain - in its eyes, the mech squad in front of it were just like little playthings, it let out some derisive Abyssal words and chuckled lightly as it looked at the show below.

Just as the Demon was about reinfuse another Bullet, - *SNiKK * BLECHH * SNAP!

It only felt claws snapping its spine and clawing and digging at its heart - then squishing it.

Its head simply hung down limply - it could not even see the Bastard who killed it before it died. The Shadow Bolter Fell from its Limp hands only to be caught by a childish human hand with black claw Like fingers.

Its shadow blood essence turned to dark bloody mist which Aavesh Devoured with from a tiny blood vorted from his hand. He now loaded this full essence into the shadow bolter which began to hum with dark light. He then tossed the Dead Demon away and took aim with his enhanced vision and senses.

Another Shadow Demon in Stealth on the opposing building was staring at him in shock, its weapon had not even been repowered. Aavesh however emotionlessly aimed at its heart and pulled the trigger.
