Clones go hunting!

As the clone drew closer, the ringing of warfare began to echo in his ears.

Huge groups of people were going back and forth between the city gate and fields, most of which were large mercenary groups earning their money through the sale of beast corpses.

The clone had to continue to walk slightly deeper into the field in order to find some prey.

Five minutes later the clone's ear twitched as its head snapped around only to catch a large shadow rushing towards it.

He crossed his hands in front of his chest and pushed off the ground to fly backwards. However he was unable to avoid the shadow as it smashed against his arms with a loud THUD.

The resultant force caused the clone to fly backwards before finally scraping his legs against the floor and stabilizing himself, however its arms were numbing.

He was also able to finally get a good look at the shadow, its body was shaped between a rat and hamster as it sat on two legs with two clawed paws waving in front of it reaching half a meter in height.

It had rough fur covering its body and if you looked closely you could see that there were small sparks moving between the strands of hair. Any contact with the fur would cause a shock on a person's skin.

This ability was also the reason why people had to form large groups before hunting the creature, despite them only normally having the strength of one or two strands of spiritual energy. The groups would swap out when their body was unable to deal with any of the shock.

The clone lifted its body back into a fighting stance and stared at the rodent in front of him without much worry on his face. After all, the strength of the rodent was weak compared to Marks clone despite it only having 50 combat power.

As the rodent leaped forward once again the clone met it with a fist pushing forward slamming against the rodent's head, his spiritual energy poured into his fist splitting the air.

As they collided, the rodent's head was immediately bent but its skin was undamaged.

Its eyes were shot as blood flooded out of its mouth and eye sockets. Obviously the clones hit had caused massive internal damage.

The rodent fell to the ground, its little paws twitched before finally falling still.

The clone gave a sigh as it sat down on the floor, it might've seemed like a quick battle but the clone had injected most of its spiritual energy into his fist in order to quickly kill the rodent.

Right now the clone didn't have any weapons, this was the only way for it to kill the rodent without damaging the fur. After all that was the most valuable material.

After quickly resting the clone went over to the body of the and reached his hands straight into the rodent's eyeball. The squelching noise made the clone slightly nauseous before he finally touched a solid rock inside the creature's head.

He withdrew his hand from the eyeball dragging a flood of blood out with it. But the excitement couldn't be hidden from the clone's face as he looked at the grey crystal in front of him.

This was the spiritual core of the beast, each beast who had any spiritual energy would form one.

Cultivators could absorb the spiritual energy inside much quicker than absorbing it from the air. The brighter the shine of the crystal the more energy that could be absorbed and the purer the energy.

The crystals are divided into 9 ranks with Rank 1 being the lowest and Rank 9 being the highest.

The crystal in the clone's hand is one of the lowest Rank 1 crystals meaning he could barely absorb a strand of energy from it. However it was better than nothing.

The clone slipped the crystal into his pocket before picking up the body of the rodent and making his way back to the city gate.

When he arrived, rather than walking back into the city he walked to the large stone building on the outside of the walls, with floods of hunters going in and out carrying various packages.

This was the main trading center for weak hunters out of the city. They could easily sell their prey and any objects to the city without having to keep signing in and out of the city.

The traditional currency in this world were credits, the same credits that the school provides to each student monthly. Anyone would have a watch to use tickets and some wealthy families would have various accessories used rather than watches.

Currently the clone has 70 credits that were on the bulky mens watch, however the corpse of a rodent could barely sell for 50 credits.

The clone walked into the trading center and saw lines of small booths along the walls. The clone found an empty one and quickly walked in.

The booth was small and minimalistic with a large screen on the wall with a hatch just below the screen.

The clone tapped his watch against the screen before two buttons popped up.

[Sell] [Buy]

After pressing Sell, the clone saw that the hatch swing open exposing a large box.

He hauled the rodent's body into the box before closing it again.

The screen began to change before finally something popped up.

[Body of a Sparking Rodent (No Spiritual Core) : 50 credits. Do you wish to sell it ?]

The clone didn't hesitate before clicking sell. The rodent's body was worth very little but it should be enough for him to purchase a weapon, making future hunting even easier.

The hatch swang closed and the clones flashed showing a total of 120 credits.

The clone was satisfied as he closed the sale section and then opened the purchase area.

A small search bar appeared on the screen and the clone quickly wrote in the word 'Sword'

Short Iron Sword- 300 Credits

Iron Sword- 500 credits

Iron BroadSword- 700 credits

Steel Sword- 1200 credits

Various swords popped up, however each was much more expensive than the clone could afford.

Sighing depressingly, the clone deleted the search and put the word 'knife' and swiped through the list, before finally coming across a purchasable knife.

Steel Knife- 100 credits

It was a simple description but it was exactly what he needed. So the clone didn't hesitate before clicking buy on the knife.

The hatch once again opened but this time a small steel knife was held inside of it.

The clone picked up the knife before checking back and forth seeing how it felt on his hand.

However there was still one thing that I did not forget to buy.

Basic Hunter Uniform- 5 Credits

Basic Hunter Mask- 5 Credits

With the remaining credits the clone purchased two sets of each leaving it completely poor.

However the clone didn't plan to immediately go hunting again. Rather it planned to return to Mark in order to get more clones and increase the efficiency of hunting.
