12 Here we go

Everette.

I watch her sleep peacefully in her bed. I smile slightly and roll my eyes.

Feeling like a total fool due to my reactions is nothing new.

I walk over to her and sit down next to her, I take a lock of her hair and stroke it between my fingers.

I lean down and brush her lips lightly, she opens her eyes, stunning me with the intense blue of them, she smiles excitedly and I laugh.

"That was exactly like in Sleeping Beauty." she assures me half asleep.

"Unlike you, there's nothing beautiful about you." I tease.

She changes her expression completely, and I resist not to burst out laughing, it's too easy to annoy her.

"You're an idiot." she shrieks.

"No matter how much of an idiot I am, you'll always be completely crazy about me." I wink.

She rolls her eyes, but doesn't contradict me.

"What are you doing here?" she changes the subject.

"We're leaving in three hours."

"Where to?"

"To the mortal world." I remind her.

She blinks in surprise and jumps up.

"So soon?" she asks confused.

"It is really necessary for us to go." I murmur, remembering the work of the last few days.

I have a special connection with the infernal beasts, I have lived with them since I was a child. I managed to identify which one was missing.

I tried to devise a strategy with Asmodeo and Shameena, but it looks like we will stay in the mortal realm for a considerable time.

Humans make me sick.

And the mere idea of being surrounded by them manages to irritate me too much. Then there is Aisha, who until recently stopped begging to be human again, bringing her along will cause problems.

"What are you thinking about?" she waves her hand in front of my face.

"It's none of your business." I shrug.

She snorts and walks out of the room.

She's such a tantruming child.

"Dark master" my slave materializes in front of me. "The great specter of the night wishes to see you in the forest of Death."

"All right." I reply and then it disappears.

Now what is that madwoman planning?

Why the hell is she involving Death in all this?

I focus my energy on the forest and transport myself to the huge living room. There I watch her, standing next to Death.

"Nephew!" she exclaims excitedly.

I chuckle under my breath.

How can a being so awash in darkness be so effusive?

"It seems that now you allow her to torture you." I comment to Death.

He sighs tiredly and denies.

"She insists that I have to accompany you to the human world."

I raise a questioning eyebrow.

"Don't you think it's fun to release Death among the mortals?" my aunt asks with a sinister tone.

"I will not kill humans!" he assures us in exasperation.

"Actually, I am aware that Death has very little tolerance for humans and yet it is greater than mine" I walk towards them and stop at a suitable distance. "But I heard that Life will be involved."

My friend's dull gaze quickly brightens at the mention of his beloved.

"Life?" he murmurs.

"It seems the celestials couldn't allow us demoniacs to be the only ones involved in the capture of the beast. They feel guilty about releasing it, that's why they will send some of their people."

"How do you know Life will be there?" he squints at me.

Lilith laughs.

"The celestials insisted that they would keep it confidential as to who will be in the human realm." she explains. "But nothing is impossible for Everette."

Death grimaces, I know that inside he is facing a great debate. Tolerating humans, in exchange for being with Life without the celestials screwing up their meeting.

"I will not take Aphra." he declares. "She is still very young and inexperienced, if she approaches humans she will devour their souls." he analyzes. " She can't be left alone. Therefore I cannot go."

Lilith gives me a look.

"I can take care of the creature." she assures reluctantly. "I promise that I will see to it that its existence repudiates the good while you are absent."

I smile mockingly.

Lilith has never taken care of a girl, Aphra has a rather twisted personality, that's why she has managed to win my affection,

I'm sure that putting them together will be an interesting experiment.

"Are you sure?" Death asks.

She sighs and nods.

"In that case, there's nothing more to discuss, you'll go with us." I smile.

"Us?" he wonders.

(...)

"Everette..." Shameena trembles beside me. "Why is Death here?"

I laugh maliciously.

Shameena is afraid of Death. Despite being immortal, which is ridiculous.

The reason?

Even though Death's character is peaceful compared to others, like everyone else he has a limit, and on one occasion

Shameena crossed it.

Never make Death angry.

"He will accompany us." I inform mockingly.

"You never mentioned he was going!" she shrieks.

"It was a last minute decision."

"I'm not going." she assures all of a sudden.

"You can't take it back." I roll my eyes.

"You can't force me to go." she spits in irritation.

I immediately feel it. All the instinct that makes me rule Hell with my father awakens at her statement.

"I can't?" he murmured menacingly. "Do you want me to show you how I can really make you?"

A sadistic smile takes over my lips, she shifts uncomfortably.

"I beg you to reconsider." her tone changes to a submissive one, I'm sure she felt the dark force emanating from me.

"Learn to overcome the past."

I turn away from her as she disappears and reappears far away in the distance, I walk towards Asmodeus and Death, who are discussing details of the journey.

"How are we supposed to find the Infernal beast?" asks the red-haired man once I am next to them.

"On this occasion, I don't have the slightest idea."

They both look at me astonished.

"How is it possible that you don't know?"

"Whoever released the beast took it upon themselves to get rid of any and all traces that could lead us to it. So we'll be starting from scratch."

"That sounds like we'll be there for a long time..." Asmodeus complains.

"And whose fault is that?" I question irritated.

"I didn't think you were going to drag me down with you!"

"The Devil's son is unforgiving." I remind him arrogantly.

They both roll their eyes.

"We could leave from the border between the worlds." Death assures me.

"I was actually thinking of using one of the portals to Hell that are over there." I shrug.

"That is unnecessarily more complicated." Asmodeus frowns.

"When you made me take Aisha as my soul, she was not at all happy at the border, I think going back will be uncomfortable for her."

Both blink their eyes in surprise and smirk, Asmodeus' smile is mocking and Death's is proud.

I'm much more annoyed by Death's smile.

"I guess you already informed Diablo about our departure." the red-haired man changes the subject.

"He and all the great demons are gathered right now, with the sole purpose of saying goodbye before our trip." I reply.

"Lucifer and his fanfares." smiles Death, he walks his gaze all over the place. "Where is your soul?"

"Probably with Shameena."

He grimaces and Asmodeo bursts out laughing.

"I know, she is very hateful." he assures.

"Yet you are attracted to her." Death teases him.

This time I laugh under my breath.

"Oh come on!" he rolls his eyes. "The girl is a walking orgasm! It's impossible not to be attracted to her."

"I'm not attracted to her." shrugs my friend.

"You're crazy about Life." he recalls irritably. "Everette knows what I mean."

"I can't be attracted to anyone but Aisha." I blurt out without thinking.

"Brother..." Asmodeus complains. "By the deadly sins! Think before you speak!"

"I'm sorry!" I exclaim. "I just can't help it..." I mutter in annoyance.

"I find it impressive." Death pats me on the back comfortingly.

"You gave your mark voluntarily." I remind him.

"Well, I don't see how you were forced. You gave it because you wanted to."

"I gave her my mark because she was being irritating."

"And now you're throwing up love." the green-eye man spits.

"Shut up or I'll force you to stand next to Astarot for a whole millennium, by the time it's over I'm sure you'll lose your sense of smell."

Asmodeus grimaces but keeps quiet.

"Your soul feels the same as you." says Death as he looks behind my back.

I turn around and Aisha smiles slightly while she approaches.

"Shameena asked me to come and wonder if we are leaving soon." she tells me in a calm tone.

"You don't have to follow her orders." I scold her but I only get her to laugh.

"It's not an order." she assures me. "It was just a favor."

A favor?

"Time to go." I smile sideways.

She nods and walks in the direction of the hallway to go tell Shameena.

She really needs to learn how to transport.

"Let the show begin..." Asmodeus smiles.

(...)

I ordered one of my slaves to tell my father our starting point, so when we arrived at the portal to the human realm, the great demons were already gathered and waiting for us.

"Son." tells Diablo when we enter his field of vision.

"Father." I bow slightly and they all imitate me.

"On this occasion, five dark beings will leave our home, Hell, and I am fully confident that six will return. We know that you will fulfill your mission, my son, and bring the Infernal beast back home." they all nod in agreement with my father.

"I appreciate your trust. We will return as soon as possible and you will get your beast back."

Everyone shouts excitedly, my father approaches and speaks directly to me.

"Avoid causing human extinction." he jokes.

I roll my eyes but smile.

"I promise nothing."

His eyes fall on Aisha.

"Don't let her eat human food." he reminds me.

"Don't worry, we will go unnoticed." I assure him.

He nods and steps back slightly to face us all.

"May the darkness be on your way."

"And guide our destiny." we reply in unison.

One by one, they disappear, leaving us in front of the great portal.

The human realm is connected to both the celestial realm and hell, many beings from both worlds constantly travel to the human realm, the portals use the energy of each of those who pass through it to transport to the desired location.

"Ready?" Asmodeus settles down next to me.

"Here we go." I murmur and then turn to Aisha. "Don't let go of my hand, no matter what happens."

She looks at me confused but nods.

"Your beautiful hand, darling." Asmodeus stands next to her and extends his hand waiting for her to take it.

"I can't let go either?" she asks to which I nod.

Shameena stands next to Asmodeus, avoiding Death.

"Where in the human world will we materialize?" she asks.

"I'm not sure." I squint. "Our energy will be distributed."

"You don't know anything lately." Shameena rolls her eyes.

"I don't understand what's wrong with you, but don't forget who I am, don't try my patience." I threaten.

"Since Aisha has been with you, you are useless." she shrieks.

"Don't talk to him like that." Death blurts out venomously.

Oh no.

"Who do you think you are to tell me what to do?" she raises an eyebrow.

"The Death itself. Is there a problem?"

"As a matter of fact, yes." Shameena approaches him threateningly.

Aisha intimidated by her, lets my hand go and steps back, trying to avoid the situation. Shameena notices this and rolls her eyes in annoyance. She steps closer and I immediately do the same just to control the situation.

"You are acting like an idiot." she assures my soul. "Stop being such a coward."

"Stop intimidating her, she has nothing to do in all of this." Death gets in the middle and separates them.

He pushes her away, completely blinded by rage. Shameena's eyes turn bright red and she shows her teeth in a threatening way.

"That's enough" Asmodeus jumps in and grabs Shameena by the shoulders. "Calm down, you're looking to be banished."

"Death shouldn't be here." she spits venomously.

"The fact that I am here has nothing to do with you." Death mutters.

"That's enough!" I order in a loud voice. "I understand that you are upset Shameena, but Death has every right to accompany

us."

"He will try to kill me." she says.

"Don't think you're so important..." he rolls his eyes.

Shameena approaches him and gives him a slap that resounds and turns his face away.

We are all petrified, Asmodeus approaches with the intention of calming the situation.

"You touched me..." Death's eyes turn completely black. "You dared to touch me."

Just when I have the intention to contain his powers, Death throws a wave of energy that makes Shameena and Asmodeo fall, she gets up and returns the attack, she releases a wave of darkness that makes everything turn black.

"EVERETTE!"

And that's when I react, I suck all the darkness around us and use my mind to blind them.

"That's enough!" I shout.

Death and Shameena nod slightly and I return their vision, Asmodeus' nervous gaze is on the portal and I feel the whole world fall at my feet.

Aisha fell through the portal.

Alone.
