1 Chapter 1

In a few minutes Eden would board the plane that would return her to her land. She would see her family, her friends and especially her boyfriend again.

She had been 'locked up' abroad for a year and a half doing her work internship in a hospital that did not give her any facilities, in a country whose language she did not know. The first six months had been quite bearable, she could talk to her partner by video call and had contact with everyone.

Until what she called 'the fateful day' arrived, to go to the hospital from the flat where she was staying temporarily she had to take the subway first thing in the morning, but that day she had fallen asleep taking her to catch the rush hour one, People crowded together, accustomed to the tranquility of the first hour, people pushed her urging her to move, making her mobile get thrown from her hands to the tracks being completely destroyed when starting this, that day she discovered how hard it was living without a mobile phone, being disconnected from any social network, disconnected from all your loved ones by not knowing anyone's phone number. That day she managed to turn what were being bearable practices into the worst of her nightmares. With no one to talk to, her days were based on working, sleeping, and watching the same movies stored on her hard drive over and over again, causing her mind to plunge into a loop of anxiety and depression.

A voice shouted at her that everyone had forgotten about her, now that there was no physical obligation to contact her, but deep down she wanted to feel that "no", another voice whispered that it couldn't be, not that way

It had been many times that she had tried to return to her country, but it was not allowed. Her trip was already paid for and scheduled, and financially she was not in a position to pay for an extra flight to return. Not even an inexpensive one. Such was her desperation that she had come to try to sneak into several flights, being permanently booked by all the security agents who worked at the airport, which on careful thought was not very compatible with life.

Now, in that very long line, surrounded by foreigners ecstatic with the idea of going to Spain, Eden was scared to death and very worried, she did not know what had happened to her people, how their lives would have changed in the past year. What little news she could see on television or newspapers was about Russia. Politics, sports, fights ...

25 more minutes and she was taking her seat by the window, she could tell that she had been lucky since the woman sitting next to her was quite nice, and although they did not understand each other verbally, they both respected their personal spaces. A pill for seasickness and 8 hours of flight later, the plane touched down gently at the Avilés airport.
