1 Chapter I

It was a normal summer day. Or as normal as i was used to. My name is Nova Hawkins and i'm not as normal as you might believe. I've got born into a temple. I do not know who my biological mother is, but everything i do know is that she did something to me. I've always felt strange. She made a contract with some kind or spirit. My mom sold me for a better life for herself. Now, i have a protective spirit. You might say: Nova, that's so cool. You are protected from bad things. But then i will explain you that, having a spirit who can talk to you only into your mind and who follows you in every single place you go, isn't safe at all. I saw too much blood. And then i've always questioned myself: Will it be possible for me to go into heaven? Or god will throw me into the same place that spirit went? Anyways, my best friend, Ray is the only one that knows everything. Now, going back to the beginning.

It was a normal summer day. I was laying on my bed, talking with Ray on the phone as suddenly my window got crashed by a big rock. I muttered, slowly approaching to the window only to see the neighbour's child, throwing with rocks into my house. With a slight frown, i went downstairs, to talk to the kid and bring him home. The moment i've stepped out of the house, a shiver of fear went through my back. the kid wasn't there. He might've go home so i decided to go to his parent's house, gently knocking on the door. His mother opened the door with a sad expression on her face, asking me why have i decided to visit them. I took a deep breathe, starting: "Mrs. Andrews, what was your child doing with the rocks in front of my house? He broke my window.". A shiver got me again as the woman answered: "Nova.... it should be a mistake. Timmy died 3 years ago, being hit by a car. He threw rocks into the windows of 'now your house's' windows". I blocked. 3 years ago??? "Mrs, how was he dressed up like?" i asked, swallowing harder and harder. The woman though and responded: "A blue shirt with white dots, some brown shorts and a polo cap.... blue." she answered. I could tell she was missing him a lot. But the more she described him, the more i was scared. I thanked her and ran back home, inside, to my room and picked the rock up, noticing a note. My window wasn't broken at all. The rock disappeared and i stood there, confused, holding the note: "Hello there Nova. Do you think he can protect you forever. You and your friend will pay for what you did to me. Timmy". I dropped the note and fell onto the bed, panting hard. I've never felt this scared ever before. I wished it wasn't real. I wished i was only hallucinating. My phone rang again. Ray s worried voice calmed my rushing heart a bit. We talked for a long time. He said he'll be by my place by 5pm. One more hour to go. I couldn't think that something might go wrong. But again, My intuition was wrong. When he arrived, we had dinner and talked. But somewhere around 10 pm, we heard a door knock....
