6 Chapter #6: The Big Reveal

{JUNGKOOK'S POINT OF VIEW}

I slowly woke up, my head throbbing in pain. "Ah," I groaned as I moved my head around sharply. I slowly blinked, adjusting my eyes to the light, which wasn't too hard because the room was barely lit. I looked down, only to see my body strapped down onto a chair, the ones they have at the dentist. I started to look around, to see if anyone was with me, but I saw no one. So, my eyes decided to wander to my surroundings.

There is a table on my right with surgical gloves on the further right side, away from me, with medical tools lining up of the left side of the table, close to me and surgical tools placed in the center. I am in some type of half dome like structured room, for the fact that the ceiling is curved outwards. In front of me, probably like several yards away are two big, dark blood red double doors with no divide in the middle. The floor is checkered black and white.

Oh no.

It felt like déjà vu. I've been here before, I've seen this before, but where? I pressured my brain to think harder.

My body started to shake, slightly. I felt wet. Sweat was rolling down the sides of my face and down my neck. The doors opened and my eyes widen as I recognized the man who entered the room while putting gloves on his hands and then he looked up. Again. But, this time instead of an expressionless face, he wore a smirk on his face.

"Ah, you're awake. That's good that you're not panicking." He said as he moved the tools on the table into two piles.

"What—what are you talking about?" I asked as I tried to force my spirit from leaving me.

"Oh, the little invention of mine that 'got destroyed' and I'm going to finish the rest of it." He said, making quotations in the air and not even to look while talking.

"I—don't u-understand what you mean," I said, scared not to do anything to provoke him. So many childhood nightmares are going back to me and that's what makes me even more scared about what might happen.

"Ah," He moved towards the front of the table and in front of me, "You see, the robot wasn't a robot and it wasn't stolen either. I planned that stealing thing so everyone would leave. The robot-human is here, in this room. I will exchange you for him so he could do something you could never do. Kill the Kim family. Get rid of them." He said, letting out a bitter laugh.

"But what did they do?" I asked.

"Oh, what they did? Huh, they did something pretty bad. It was an incident that made me lose my childhood." He said looking down. My eyes widen at his words. He never talked about his childhood before, ever.

"Kim Jae-Hyun's father, Kim Sang-hoon, so his grandfather and the rest of their generation ruined my father and his life. Kim Jae-Hyun was a major drug dealer during our time and when he was exposed by me and my friends, he decided to take revenge. He framed me in a murder that he committed when he was high. We tried to face him, but it was a bad idea. He then became very unstable and instead of going to rehab, he started to kill in order to cope with himself. He wanted revenge. He killed my entire family, but I was the only able to run away. He somehow was able to get away with all his crimes and he had a family in the city. He has all the wealth he has now because of his family and that is what his son, Kim Jae-Hyun inherited. I worked to get what I have, while he got everything done for him. He did bad stuff but got what he wanted, but I had to work for it. Why? This is why you don't have grandparents of your own. We're always isolated from society because of this. We have each other, no one else besides us."

He then sighed and took his gloves off. He walked towards me and stood between the table and the chair I was placed in. "Son," He caressed my left cheek, "I've always been mean to you and hit you, but I was never able to tell you how much I loved you. You're my child and I'm proud of that."

Oh no, what's going on? What's up with his duality?

"Son, I so sorry for all I've done. I can never tell you how much I love you. I don't care if you didn't turn to the tough person I wanted to make you, but you are great the way you are. Your softness is something I consider to be your strong personality point. So, for what I want, I can't have you do it. But trust me," He wiped the tears that slowly made their way down his cheek, "What I'm about to do is to protect you," He took an injection form the table behind him and brought it up in the air and flicked the tube to make sure the liquid was coming out, "Please, trust me, son, what I want you to do is going to destroy you mentally, so I must do this to protect you."

No. My eyes widen as the tip of the injection came closer to my neck. "No," I whimpered, "Please don't." I cried, but he said nothing.

"I love you son. And I am doing whatever I can to protect you." This was all I heard before my eyes dropped heavy and closed my eyes.
