DIANE POV

NINOY AQUINO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (NAIA), MANILA, PHILIPPINES

December 15, 2017: 6:40 in the Evening

The airport is filled with a lot of people buzzing around and chatting with their family. The heartfelt smiles and hugs are sweet as a chocolate. My children and I wait in seat for my parents to arrive.

I could just kiss the ground or touch the sky, leap like a frog, dance like crazy, say goodbye to my Divorce the happened a year ago and live peacefully ever after. What about that. I'm now free from that horrible guy that broke my heart.

"Are you happy to see, Nana and Popong?" Tanong ko ni Morgan at Micheal, ang anak ko.

Tumango lang siya at ngumiti. "Sí, mami, pero todavía extraño a papi. ¿Lo veremos aquí en Filipinas?"

Damn it. Of all the people in the world si David ba talaga. Anak, move on, wala na kami nang tatay mo. I have full custody of you so that you can't see you daddy.

I kneel to be levelled with my son. ""Tu padre murió hace mucho tiempo. Se ha ido, hijo. Entonces, no eres tú y mamá".

"Okay..." he answered. "¿Podemos visitar la tumba de papá?"

Grave? What do you mean by grave. What I mean by your dad died a long time ago is that he is no longer part of our lives. David is such a jerk! He doesn't deserve to see his son, he's a bad example for a father.

I change the subject from daddy to food.

"So, do you want some food. Are you two hungry?"

They shook their head.

"No mommy I'm full, I'm just excited to see Popong and Nana." Morgan said.

By the time our bags came from the carrousel we get out of the airport and I spotted our van.

"Are you excited to see Nana and Popong?" I asked them.

"Yes! Yes!" They jumped up and down while clapping their hands. I chuckled.

"Do you wanna play a game?"

They nodded

"That's good because I spy with my little eye someone that is old, kind and they are doctors. Who are they?"

I pointed with my lip to the direction of my parents who are coming to the direction. The twins smile even bigger when say saw their grandparents.

"Nana! Popong!" They ran up to them and gave them each a hug. My parents lift my children up and gave them a hug while I put all the bags in the van.

My parents come near me and I gave them a hug. "Hi, I miss you. It's been two years now. Mom, Dad."

"It is.." my dad said putting Hellen and Michael inside the van. "It's been two years. I miss my only daughter and I also miss my grandchildren."

"Of course you do Popong!" Hellen said. "You said that we are you're two and only grandchildren because mama can't give birth anymore."

My parents laugh and we went in the van and I close the door.

My children are with my parents and I admit it's kinda lonely, this is one of the depressing facts of being a mother. When you're with your family. They won't sit beside you. That's a true fact.

"You two don't want to sit beside mommy?" I asked them.

"Nu-ah! No thanks you mommy!" They said in unison.

Okay, I really wish you would said by my side but if that's what you want then go for it. You didn't meet your Nana and Popong for two years. That's fine with your mommy. Geez.

"So, how is De Villa General Hospital in Canada? Doing well or doing worst?" My father asks.

Damn it dad. I'm a thirty-three year old woman and yet you treat me like I'm a 4-year-old nonsense. I have you know, I am a very good hospital director. Why would you worry about a thing.

I studied hard in Oxford University and Harvard University. I am a successful businesswoman, what is there to complain about me. You raised me well father, I am raised well.

I sigh silently and said. "Estoy bien criado. No tienes que preocuparte."

"Esa es mi hija!" My father shouted.

We all were startled even the driver Manong Iseng was startled by my father's shout. My mother slapped daddy's back and the twins laugh.

"Manten tu voz baja." My mother scolded.

I took a glance of my wrist watch and yawned. It's already 7 o'clock. Hindi ba sila inaantok? Ang super energetic nilang apat, ako humikab na. Gusto ko nang matulog. Matagal pa ba? Gusto ko nang matulog.

"Ma.." Tawag ko kay mama at lumingon siya. "Matagal pa ba 'to? Parang isang oras na tayo dito, ah."

Humikab ako ulit.

"Maghintay ka kasi malapit pa tayo Diane. Pwede kanang matulog pag dating nang bahay." Sabi ni mama.

"Mommy didn't go tulog when we were on the plane. She was wide awake praying the rosary. I don't know why.." Michael said and then giggled.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah." Hellen said while nodding. "Mommy was like Hail Mary, full grace. Lord with you, blessed you 'mong women, blessed the fruit womb Jesus."

I chucked. "What was that. You said it all wrong. You sneaky little nuggets."

"Who are you calling little nuggets?" Michael said while standing on his seat.

"Sit down Michael or do you want to come sit with mommy. I won't let you sit with Nana and Popong in that attitude."

"No thank you." Micheal sits on his seat.

"Nana, Popong...are we there yet. I'm getting tired. I wanna go home already. I'm tired I wanna sleep already." My daughter whined.

Speaking about sleep. Me too, I really wanna sleep in my bed. I yawned again and smacked my lips together. I really wanna sleep I didn't get to sleep in the plane because the twins were disturbing me and I'm guessing I won't get to sleep at home. It's normally noisy. Hate it.

I stare outside the window and the van enters the El Pueblo Guenerro. The subdivision my parents own. It's been standing there for two hundred years, believe me or not. Even our health family company that I am managing is almost three hundred years.

"Michael, Hellen. Look. We're here."

I pointed outside the window and yawned again. I hate it when I yawn again and again but I don't blame my yawn, I blame my hypothalamus and melatonin released by the pineal gland which controls your sleep patterns.

My twins didn't respond, I'm guessing their sleepy to. Sleepy of bothering their mommy in the flight.

Manong Iseng parks the van and we get out. The maids gets our things and put it inside the mansion.

"Dad." I called out to my father. "Ako na, tulog na ang kambal."

I get the twins from my father and went upstairs. The nanny opens the door for us and I gave she a smile. I lay the twins on my bed and I sat on the couch.

I will need to take a shower and I will get myself and the twins for bed.

Tomorrow is a big day. My whole family will be here tomorrow for some party.
