Arrival

The surreal chirping of the birds, a light breeze that dances through the trees and the light that glistens through the shadows. Greens, browns and other colors meeting my vision as I slowly open my eyes and look out upon the landscape. I feel as if a drum was playing inside my chest, sounds filling my ears as I absorb all the new information before me. I was free! Finally free! But of what? What was I free of that I sought to unchain the binds that shackled me too it? All I can remember is my name is Seryy Ingram Ramos Smith, I have a system named Sam and…. I left home to take up my own path? I was unsure entirely of what was happening, my head hurt a bit and everything was fuzzy. I stumbled off my feet and sat on the ground that was a bit damp, getting my pants a bit wet. I remember things but so much of it is missing. I know that I am free, on my own path to do whatever I want but other than that. Other than that I can't remember my past. I can't remember my family, my friends, my life, none of it. It's all gone but my few blotchy memories. I groan as I strain to remember what has happened, what is going on an where I am other than knowing I am on Remnant. I furiously rubbed my temples as I groaned and withdrew my hands to be caught off guard by My gauntlets and bracers. In all of the commotion I had been so oblivious to my equipment. I quickly began to shake off the helpless feeling that gripped me and quickly gave into the curiosity that had a greater hold on me. I had on clothes, good. The pair seemed to be in good shape, hiking boots, plain chino cloth trousers that were made for travel and a zip up jacket with a base color of black with some intricate designs of blues and purples. I began to flex my hands which were hidden inside the gauntlets, the feeling felt odd, a weird sensation as if this was my first time in my body. I began to go through simple tests as I tested myself. As I began to move around to test myself I trip and fall to the ground with a light thud. I groan and slowly pick myself off the ground, noticing I had tripped upon my own satchel which was lying there casually on the ground. I slowly pick it up and begin rifling through it, seeing what I had packed in the bag for my journey to only find a bed roll, a day's rations, a wallet and a scroll. I furrowed a brow in disappointment for not packing smarter, I let out a groan and sighed. As I began to throw my bag over my shoulder every fiber of my being told me to lunge to the left. I did as my body commanded and threw myself to that direction just in time to see a mass of black and white jump from within the bushes and to where I previously stood my ground. I rolled along the ground and popped back up, my instincts once more telling me to get ready for a fight. I threw my hands up in front of me and squared my hips, standing strong and powerful, ready to fight the Grimm before me. Grimm, that name, I've heard it before but where? The creature in front of me was an Ursa, it towered over me as it let out a mighty roar. This roar was loud and something told me it was more than just a "hey I'm going to kill you" The mighty Ursa slashed at me with its mighty claw, the power in the attack was heavy and full of power. I felt myself slowly lean back, the claw not even touching me and glancing off a tree nearby, the wind from the attack rushing over me. I suddenly felt a force on my back as suddenly I fell forward. My feet no longer under me as a Beowulf was atop me, pinning me to the ground as the Ursa once more lumbered forward. The weight of the Grimm would not go away as I flailed and continued to struggle. This is it, it's all over. This is where I die and no one will even know me.

(Seryy, flick your wrists to activate one of the weapon's primary functions)

That's right! I have Sam to help me out! I do as she said and flick my wrists. I feel the gauntlets unravel strands of silver float out into the air, each one connecting back to me. I slowly inhale as the Ursa swings its mighty claw down upon me, intending to end the struggle quickly. As it does I feel a slight pull on my index finger when I tighten it quickly. The sick sound of crunching bone and ripping flesh, a roar of pain as the Ursa reels back in pain, confused on where its arm had gone. I adjust my middle finger and pull my thumb back before I quickly pull back a few strands with my teeth. I hear the sound once more and watch as the head of a Beowulf rolls to the ground and the weight that once pinned me dispersed. I left to my feet just in time to be knocked into a nearby tree by a swipe of the Ursa who wanted nothing more than my demise. I felt the air escape my lungs and a dull pain in my back as I smashed through the tree. I quickly extended all my fingers on my left hand and felt the adrift thread ensnare my prey. Without a second thought I quickly balled my hand up and yanked it back, causing my once alive prey into nothing more than a pile of dust like his friend. I lay there as the battle ended and try to catch my breath. A small window popped up.

(Congratulations! You've fought your first Grimm! Do you wish to look at your stats?)
