The night the saviour of the Wizarding World should have been born... Harry Potter died under the unforgivable curse. He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, the man who's mere name inflicted fear in all British wizards, regained the wisdom and ambition that belonged to him from the Horcrux. Darkness has completely enveloped the island of Great Britain. Wizards are divided into high and low according to their bloodlines. Pure bloods firmly hold the authority that belongs to the superior, and those unfortunate enough to be called mudbloods, can only be as humble as mud, trampled on throughout their lives. The Ministry of Magic, which is supposed to enforce justice, is full of villains, and the castle, which is supposed to impart knowledge, is full of oppression. In these dark times. Jon Green, who came from across time, was brought into the exiled boy's body that truly inherited the title of “Hogwarts".
The air quality in London in 1991 was rather mediocre.
Even though it has been over a year since he arrived in this world, Jon is still unaccustomed to the somber sky, even on sunny days.
In this reality, he assumes the identity of a young orphan.
However, beneath the façade of an ordinary 11-year-old boy, Jon holds a soul from the 21st century.
In his previous life, Jon was a newly employed migrant worker.
One fateful day, while en route to work, he bore witness to a tragic electric scooter collision.
The two young individuals, roughly his age, were riding the scooter when they were struck by him, tragically plummeting into the river beside the road.
Jon, possessing adept swimming skills, did not stand idly by but swiftly removed his coat and prepared to plunge into the water for a rescue attempt.
Regrettably, while trying to swim towards the shore, he found himself ensnared by aquatic vegetation, his struggle resulting in brutal calf cramps.
Fortunately, divine intervention did not turn a blind eye. Jon, having lost consciousness underwater, finally regained his senses, blinking his eyes furiously at the unfamiliar lighting.
He found himself confined within a British hospital, occupying the body of Jon Green, a young lad who had been abandoned and subsequently taken in by an orphanage.
The doctor's diagnosis revealed a violent blow to his head, leading to a concussion.
Upon awakening, Jon found that he had not inherited any memories, save for the linguistic aptitude ingrained in the original host's physical instincts.
Thankfully, the symptoms of his concussion provided a convenient excuse for his memory loss. After all, even in the 2020s, the human brain had not been thoroughly explored, let alone at the close of the 20th century.
Upon returning to the orphanage from the hospital, Jon gradually pieced together the circumstances surrounding his reborn existence.
Before the arrival of the original host in the orphanage, he had always been a reticent, introverted, timorous, and self-effacing individual.
Among the children, apart from his striking appearance, the rest appeared quite ordinary, making him the undisputed leader among these marginalised orphans.
During a spring outing, a few boys seized the opportunity to push the original host toward the edge of a clay slope.
As a result, the original host struck the back of his head against a protruding rock during the tumble. Only then did Jon, who had transcended time and space, appear in the body of the child.
However, according to those children, Jon wasn't forced into rolling down. Instead, they claimed that when they pushed him, he mysteriously soared into the air, repelled everyone around him, and then descended from the sky before tumbling down the slope and colliding with a protruding stone.
Such delusions, clearly concocted by children, held no weight. Naturally, adults wouldn't entertain such a notion. It merely served as an excuse for them to evade their guilt.
But following his transition, Jon, having already encountered unscientific occurrences, began to harbour doubts.
Yet, regardless of the attempts he made thereafter, he found no extraordinary attributes within his being, dispelling any illusion that his post-time-travel self possessed superhuman abilities.
After all, no matter how one scrutinizes it, he merely journeyed from 2020 to 1991. Whether in terms of history or the present circumstances, it remains the same world, only with the divergence of the timeline.
Upon gaining a clearer understanding of his situation, Jon, a confirmed time traveler, adopts a mindset of acceptance.
In any case, although he wasn't an orphan in his previous life, his parents divorced when he was very young. Apart from giving birth to him, they provided no care and went on to build their separate lives.
Jon, raised by his grandmother, saw her pass away when he entered university, leaving him without any living relatives. Since then, he has lived independently without any concerns.
With nothing to worry about, life itself is worth living. Moreover, even in an unfamiliar England during the 20th century, Jon possessed the advantage of foresight. He doesn't believe that with such favourable circumstances, his current life will be unsatisfactory.
However, due to the limitations imposed by his child form, Jon finds it inconvenient to take certain actions, which is why he must temporarily reside in the orphanage that took him in.
Jon's situation in the orphanage differs significantly from that of the original occupant.
It's not because of his actions, but rather, following the incident during the spring outing, the other children labeled him as a freak through word of mouth, and verbal and physical bullying morphed into a frigid form of violence.
He is truly looking forward to a life devoid of interaction with this group of kids who only know how to cause trouble and mess around. Most of them will become societal scourges anyway.
Jon, seated on the garden swing, gazed up at the resplendent emerald poplar tree towering in the garden. Several children, slightly older than him, threw him peculiar glances before promptly dispersing like a wary flock of waifs.
Unperturbed by their expressions, Jon's attention focused on the mysterious figure.
At the entrance of the orphanage, Mrs. Kris, the headmistress, led in a young man.
Such an occurrence held no particular significance. Although the orphanage he resided in was modest, volunteers from London would occasionally visit for charitable work.
What truly astonished Jon was the youth's attire. He donned a black robe embellished with a serpent emblem intricately embroidered on the chest.
Such garb bore no resemblance to what modern individuals ought to wear. Rather, it strikingly resembled the depictions of medieval sorcerers found within the folklore storybook that Jon had torn apart during his time at the orphanage.
The young man's appearance did not betray his age; he was likely under thirty. His complexion was exquisitely fair, as if untouched by sunlight.
Neatly arranged light yellow hair accompanied his constant companion, a subtle smile. He exuded an air of cordiality.
As if sensing Jon's gaze, the young man in the black robe returned the look.
Their eyes locked. As Jon peered into those depths, an inexplicable icy chill coursed through his veins, causing his body to shudder involuntarily.
At that moment, Mrs. Kris uttered something to the young man, prompting them both to approach Jon.
"Jon Green?" the young man asked tenderly.
Caught off guard by the situation, Jon hadn't anticipated such focused attention from the other party.
"Yes, sir."
Upon hearing Jon's response, the young man refrained from introducing himself and instead turned to Mrs. Kris.
"I shall have a private conversation with this child."
Mrs. Kris, in an uncharacteristic display of bitterness, obeyed without hesitation or inquiry, granting them an undisturbed space.
Though Jon's countenance remained largely unchanged, an unsettling feeling crept into his heart.
Just as unease settled in, a piece of aged parchment and a quill suddenly flew out of the young man's pocket, defying the laws of physics, and suspended themselves before Jon!
"Congratulations, Mr. Jon Green. Due to your unique talent, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry extends its invitation to you. Once you affix your signature to this acceptance letter, you shall embark on the path of a young wizard."
