4 Chapter 04 : One can only convert a sinner, never a saint, part 03

"You're not human anymore, and you're not even an angel. In short, you're an aberration with angelic powers. Now, what I really want to know is how you entered my dream. What did the King of Souls do to you? Is entering dreams of gods your unique power? Or was it an accident? But why me specifically when there are eleven other gods out there?" The Evernight Goddess knew that it was impossible to get a satisfying answer out of the runt, but she asked anyway as if trying to find the answers herself.

As for Silas, amidst the fear and helplessness he was feeling, he was still drunk on power, the power he felt coursing through him. He looked at the silver halo above his head and started playing with it, forgetting the almighty god before him. He felt a certain kind of intimacy with it.

When it was apparent that she wouldn't get any answers, the goddess thought, "Rather than sending him to hell, I should just kill him. He is unpredictable and I can't give him any chance to grow."

Silas then stopped playing with his halo and then asked, "What's hell? What does kill mean?"

The Goddess felt shivers run through her godly spine as she erratically thought, "Just like angels who can read a human's thoughts, he can read a God's thoughts? This is impossible. Not even Archangels can do that."

She was shocked once again by Silas and didn't know what to do with such a piece of shocking information. If the other Gods knew that she had let such an existence exist in her jurisdiction, it wouldn't be long before the other Gods decided she was unfit to rule her territory and she was killed and replaced.

"Killing means ending your life, runt. Know that I'm doing you a favor. You will be exempt from spending all eternity in hell like all you humans do." She said as a gigantic hand appeared above Silas.

Silas looked at the gigantic hand and then smiled, "Beautiful madam, you want to play? I can do lots of things in dreams as well. Look!" An even more gigantic hand appeared and then turned into a big fist. It went to punch the goddess's gigantic hand, but nothing happened. It seemed that no matter how big Silas's hand projection was, it was too weak to make the goddess's hand move.

As if disappointed by his own work, Silas summoned even more hands, but nothing he did made the Goddess' hand move.

The goddess' gigantic hand went up and then came crashing down on Silas. The first thing to break to bits was his halo and then his soul body followed suit. It all happened in less than a second.

The Evernight Goddess sighed and then said, "It's over. I swear…I'll never force myself to sleep again."

As she was about to end her dream, the dream world trembled and then she heard Silas' crying voice, "Mommy! I want my mommy. It hurts! You're a bad person."

On the spot where Silas was supposed to have died, a new Silas had appeared with a new look.

His robe, eyes, halo, and hair looked like they had been made of a starry sky. His angry eyes radiated a certain amount of wisdom. It seemed he was no longer a child.

The goddess was out of words as she said, "You used my power to resuscitate. Impossible…how did you do it? How much did you take?"

It was then that the Goddess felt a bit dizzy, she thought, "Oh no, he hasn't stopped taking my power. He's taking it all…he's going to kill me."

At this point, Silas' soul body looked like a starry sky as well. In the starry sky dreamworld, he seemed completely invisible.

In the real world, the Evernight Goddess' body was disappearing from reality. She was surrounded by puzzled angels and archangels who didn't know how to help her.

Finally, the Evernight Goddess died, leaving Silas alone in the starry sky dreamworld.

After closing his eyes and feeling the limitless power he had, he smiled. He remembered that as he died and his soul was being erased, he felt his entire being hungry for power. He needed that power to live and the closest power that could satisfy his appetite fully was the power of the Evernight Goddess.

He also gained a good amount of intelligence and wisdom.

"As expected, this dreamworld is part of her power. Or maybe it was transferred to me after her death. I think I'll need help if I want to control this power properly. That King of Souls should still be around. If he's as badly injured as she claimed, then in exchange for his tutelage, I will nurse him back to full power. She may have feared him but I do not. This power that allows me to eat any power I want is too scary. The good news is that I can make my entire family immortal so that I do not lose them later on." Silas mused.
