3 Chapter 03 : One can only convert a sinner, never a saint, part 02

Silas opened his eyes to see a starry sky. Each star was strikingly bright.

He stood up, but just as he stood up, he found out that he was in the void with no ground to stand up on. Nonetheless, as if compelled to move by a strange power or his sheer will, his petite body stood up and floated there in the void surrounded by stars.

He then found out that his small body was wearing a white immaculate robe. It seemed to be made of a strange energy rather than fabric.

Apart from feeling like he had just slept a thousand years, he felt strong and invigorated. He felt so much power that he didn't know what to do with it.

He was also a little bit lost and didn't understand his current situation.

How could his five-year-old self understand what was happening to him?

As he thought of looking around the void to understand what was happening despite being a little bit afraid, he heard a voice behind him, "Oh?...are you another mind demon trying to make me remember the fact that I can't have children?... I must say, you look cute…just like how I would imagine my own little son to be…"

Silas turned around to see a beautiful woman whose robe, eyes and hair looked like the starry sky itself.

"Now that I see you closely, why do you have the stench of a human on you despite having a silver halo above your head?" the woman said as she narrowed her eyes. She thought, "What's this? I forced myself to sleep so that a mind demon could come so I can pretend to be a mother. I am a God, so it stands to reason that my children would be gods as well. But now…it's a little angel with the stench of a human. I loathe humans, they're nothing more than cattle to harvest faith power from and most of the remaining angels think so as well."

As she was lost in her thoughts she heard Silas saying, "I am human. What are you, beautiful madam?"

"Me?... I am the Evernight Goddess. Tell me, little man how did you find yourself in a God's dream?" She asked after having made some conjectures of her own and she was dying to know the answer.

"What's an Evernight Goddess? God's dream? I'm in a dream? Wow… no wonder I feel like this. "A trace of amazement appeared on Silas' face.

"Well, I can just find out after a read your memories."

Silas's mind went blank for a second and then returned to normal in the next second. Not sure what had happened he looked to the Evernight Goddess for an answer.

For a Goddess of her caliber, it only took less than a second to read his memories.

"I see…that poison should've killed a kid like you. Yet you survived and turned into an aberration. I wonder which crazed angel would risk chipping his own halo to save a lowly human… It is taboo…unless the halo was already broken, in that case, he wouldn't lose much power. "

"His halo does have a familiar smell…it is…shouldn't it be… yes, it's the smell of that traitor, Archangel Arkun, the King of souls. He should be long dead…I personally dealt him a finishing blow, but if he survived, all he needs is to eat souls and he should slowly revive himself and become an archangel again. His unique power gave him dominion over souls. Apart from eating them he could also strengthen them and enslave them. All the angels feared and respected him. If it wasn't for the fact that he eyed my position, making it so I had to kill him, he would've been a fine soldier under me. With such a powerful ally, the other gods would think twice before challenging me."
