"And to tell you, your dad's not really dead."

"What?", I exclaimed after hearing those words.

"Don't believe what's on the news or the internet Lucy. All of those were fabricated."

"So where's dad? What happened to him?", I asked.

"I guess you never had any chance to see who's on the second floor of your house.", he said.

"Dad is the one making those noises?"

"No, I'm not sure about that. But after you described the noises this guy upstairs is making and how Kelly restricted you to go there, it makes sense."

"Who gave you the idea that he is not dead?" Rain asked.

"Lucy's mom said no one died that night. She just went upstairs to bring Lucy back to her room. After, she went back downstairs and the kitchen's already filled with fire."

I suddenly remembered all the things I heard that night, that very moment. Mom did bring me back to my room for I went outside after I heard a loud noise.
