13 CHAPTER 13

"Lucy, wake up. It's dismissal already."

I was awakened by Rain's calm voice and her soft touch. I sighed and faces the board. No one's around than Rain. How long am I sleeping here?

"Lucy I'm sorry to wake you up but I have to. It's getting late."

I tapped her shoulder for her to feel it's alright.

"If I were you, I'll rest for a day. Seriously Lucy, you aren't looking healthy anymore.", she continued speaking.

"I have to make sure mom's not taking these pills again. Also, she is always drunk so I have to put her to bed. She dreams every night and the noises are still disturbing my sleep.", I complained.

"Don't go to school tomorrow Lucy. Rest for the whole day."

"Mom won't let me stay alone in the house. I told you she's freaking out."

"I don't know pregnancy can cause that much." she said.

"Unwanted. Unwanted pregnancy to be exact."

I stood up and picked up my bag. I saw Rain doing the same thing.

"You can stay at my place for the next hour before your mom will arrive."

"Sounds great. I'll be sleeping the entire time."

"Feel free."

We went out of the room and Rain is walking a few steps ahead of me. Suddenly, I heard two stamps behind me. Those signals, I know mom's using those kind of sounds as I grow up. Whenever I hear those stamps, my heart always rejoice for I know mom's nearby.

I looked back and saw no one's behind me. Looking at my wrist watch, I assume all students had gone home now.

"Lucy come on. Let's go home.", Rain said.

I heard someone stamped his feet again.

"Josh, if it's you, you better come out." I yelled.

That was when Josh's face showed up a few meters ahead of me.

"How did you know it's me?", he asked.

"It's only you who reminds me of my mother. And besides, your perfume's lingering. Now what?"

"I don't know you'll remember my scent.", he grinned.

This guy's insane. Not really feeling any guilt for what he did? Well honestly, I did remember his scent. How could you forget about that so easy?

"I was just worried about you.", he continued.

"Oh, there's no one who's pasting things on my desk. Somehow it's safe.", I smiled.

"I guess it's safe for you not to go back to your past."

I looked at him and his eyes are cold. I was trying to read his expressions but his eyes aren't sending me any vibe at all.

"You don't know anything about my past.", I said and turned away from him.

I started walking away from him. I even invited Rain to walk with me. It was when Josh stamped his foot three times.

"Are you mad?", I looked back at him.

That signal, mom used that signal if I've done something bad or if I should be sorry.

"No."

"Okay, maybe you know a part of my life but what you did cause me a lot of damages Josh. I don't want to be a part of your "playing the game fair" world."

"I just want you to be complete Lucy."

"You lied to me and denied me what's true. Is that your definition of complete?"

"I am drawing you to the truth. It doesn't matter what methodology I used. It will still lead you to the truth."

"Of course the process matters Josh.", he sighed and before I could even notice, tears are rushing down my face.

"Josh excuse me. She's stressed right now. Her mom's pregnant so she's watching her every single time. Please understand.", Rain said dragging me away from that place.

"So, you'll have a sibling? A Dawson?"

I shook my head. Where did that thought come from? Me? Having a sibling from the Dawson?

"No! It's her mom Kelly's.", Rain answered.

He just nodded and looked at me. His eyes are telling me something but I can't totally read it.

"Lucy please take care. I'll be a call away in case you need me."

He walked ahead of us and went straight to the parking. I keep my eyes on him and tears are uncontrollably flowing out of my eyes.

"Lucy, let's go home.", Rain said.

"I'm sorry."

"It's alright. Come on."

I nodded and started walking. Rain's holding my hand and I keep composing myself, preventing my emotions to just burst out right here, it's indecent.
