In the Dead of the Night

A young girl finds herself in love with a classmate of hers who is in love with somebody else, her friend. She then plans to steal the boy away from her friend by manipulating both their lives and ruining their reputation. She succeeds in separating them but does not succeed in making the boy love her. Ten years later she meets the boy again, now engaged to be wed the following year.
