40 Chapter 14 Offending two future giants of Gotham

James Gordon is currently the Lieutenant of the Gotham City Police Department. Gillian Loeb is the current Commissioner of the Gotham City Police Department.

Everyone in Gotham knows that the Police Department is corrupt. They don't work for the law but they follow the one which gives them money. Greed has become the essence of the police department.

Yet, no one from Gotham can say anything like this to James Gordon. One can say he is the only diligent police officer in the entire force with enough prestige to become the next Commissioner of Gotham after Loeb time comes to an end.

He is the only person in the entire Gotham City Police Department whom Bruce Wayne aka Batman trust explicitly. Even though Harvey Dent is someone he wishes to train as the White Knight of Gotham, he still has some doubts about him in his heart.

This is something which is a characteristic of Batman. He is vigilant of everyone and doesn't trust people easily.

Wayne Foundation donates millions of dollars to the Gotham City Police Department every year and provides aid from time to time. There has been never a delay in this donation.

All of this is due to the one man who gave him his coat when his parents die.

One can even say Bruce Wayne is giving this money to James Gordon so these funds can be used for Gotham and not enter the pocket of the corrupt. If one day Gordon is no longer in the Police Department, he may even stop financing the police department.

This is the level of impact James Gordon have on Bruce Wayne.

Gordon isn't someone who can be considered for these types of talks which the city council wished to do with Thomas. But all their past efforts were for naught.

They sent everyone who has enough authority and slick to talk with Thomas for the past few days but there was no result. They were sent rudely.

Only Gordon was allowed to enter his penthouse after that event. So we are here.

" Good morning Lieutenant Gordon." Thomas greeted the one who loved Gotham as much as Batman himself willing to do everything for her. Not even his wife leaving or second wife dying has moved him from his ideals.

One can say sone criminals respect him. Thomas has talked with Oswald aka Penguin before Roman's incident.

Oswald directly told him, ' In Gotham, there is only one police officer worthy of respect, that is James Gordon. Even though he is my enemy and we stand on the opposite side, I respect that man for his integrity, ideal and indomitable will. '

These words are enough to show just how he felt about James Gordon.

Gordon is surprised by all this. First Thomas is willing to meet him. Secondly, he is greeting him so enthusiastically is very confusing and surprising for him.

" Good morning, Mr. Allens. " Gordon and Thomas shook hands and sat in the living room of the penthouse.

" I am very happy to meet you, Lieutenant Gordon. Though I am surprised, they sent you to talk to me." Thomas spoke while Gordon just laughed nervously at his opposite.

" Do you need anything? Tea? Coffee? Wine? Anything?" Thomas offered Gordon which was refused by him.

Seeing he didn't want anything, he took the orange juice he prepared in the morning in his hand and took a sip.

After that, " So what do they want to talk with me?" Thomas asked Gordon with a serious look.

It is one thing to respect someone, but completely another thing to do things blindly without thinking about them.

Seeing that Thomas is serious he straightened himself and spoke out, "They hope you can stop your aggression and calm down. They wish to talk with you find a peaceful solution to this problem.

They assure you that you won't be at a loss if you agree to the Talks. "

Gordon doesn't beat the bush and spoke out the things they told him.

" Very well." Thomas agreed

" Good" Gordon was happy that he agreed.

" But, I won't do it. My people will do the negotiation. Tell them tomorrow at 11 o'clock sharp, they will arrive there for negotiation.

They will be there for peaceful negotiation, and I hope it remains peaceful. " Thomas warmed Gordon and by his extension the people behind him.

Gordon nods and didn't speak any further.

" Lieutenant Gordon, I am confused why did you agree to come here on their behalf. You aren't someone who likes to get involved in these unsavory talks. " Thomas asked curiously.

Gordon is confused about how he knows about his character and dislike for such things, but didn't pry into those matters. He felt that Thomas may have invested about every person who may visit him and he is just one of them.

This kind of things happens all the time. The rich and powerful find the information about the people they are meeting in order to get an upper hand in their talks.

Gordon has a helpless expression. This type of thing cannot ve hidden from people who have a certain level of powers. Thomas also is in this group.

So he felt no guilt in revealing it, "They used the funds for the next year as a bait so I have to come here. I guess now they don't have a reason to cut the funds for the next session."

Thomas nods understanding that might be the case. For most people, it isn't a threat but for Gordon who wished for the good of Gotham, it is a very serious threat.

" I shall take my leave then. I have to inform them about this and prepare for tomorrow's meeting." Gordon asked for permission to leave.

" Very well. I hope we can have the opportunity to meet again later." Thomas said and let him leave.

After Gordon has left, Daisy asked Thomas who now has a frowning face.

" What is it that made you frown, Sir?"

Thomas twirled his glass of orange juice and look at the whirlpool in it.

" We are now in the whirlpool of troubles now. And, I have angered two people who are going to be at the head of Gotham City.

Tell the men, they must stay within the limit. They cannot exceed the line and go crazy or else..." He issued the order which Daisy will surely convey to others.

Thomas has noticed he has accumulated quite some points and wants to see what he can earn this time in the lottery.
