14 Who do you think you are?!

"Ah my dear husband, you still think I'm innocent like when we were kids?" Ave took a seat on the bed with a grin on her lips as she crossed her legs around each other.

Jack raised his eyebrow confused at what she was saying.

"What do you mean?" He asked as he stepped near to her.

"Nothing." Ave sighed as she fell on her back on the bed. "I'll go get some bandage for you." She glanced at Jack who sat beside her.

"You sure? I can call for another maid." Jack told her trying to stop her since it was late.

"No, it's ok. I can do it." Aveline stood up as she exited the bedroom, clueless about Jack's intention of saying that.

Jack watched her leave the room as he sighed. "She's getting weirder day by day." He softly mumbled putting his palm on his forehead. He wiped the blood with his white handkerchief waiting for the bandage to arrive.

Ave looked towards her right and left to see if anyone was nearby. She couldn't find anyone at the sight so she kept walking until she reached the stairs. She stopped for a second as there were not many lights downstairs.

"What happened to everyone, jeez?" She wondered as she walked down the stairs looking around with a little bit of fear.

"Aveline?" A soft and low voice spoke further away from her.

She saw a manly silhouette that made gulp. Her gaze fell on the orange hair, making her sigh in relief. She knew the silhouette that was getting closer to her.

"Eiden?" She asked as she approached the silhouette.

"What are you doing here?" Eiden asked as he looked around. "Did you come alone?" He asked as he noticed no one was around her.

"Yeah, I'm here to get some bandages but I don't know where they are..." Ave scratched the back of her head.

Eiden looked shocked as he heard that.

"Are you hurt somewhere?! Show me!" Eiden shouted as he grabbed Aveline by her shoulder as he checked around her quickly. His face was filled with worry, making Ave speechless.

"I-I'm—" She stopped talking as she felt a sharp gaze on her. She shivered, feeling a chill going down her spine. She looked to the left, no one. She looked to the right, Jack was watching!

She gulped as he was staring with a murderous glare.

Jack came towards them in heavy steps. "Stay away." He shoved Eiden's hands from Aveline as he grabbed her by her waist tightly.

Ave started into his eyes, trying to make him understand that she was being hurt, but in vain.

"Your majesty, your eyes... they..." Eiden hesitantly remarked.

"Dare say a word, it'll be the last you would have uttered and the last day you'll be alive." Jack dragged Ave who was struggling to get away from his grip.

"Jack! You're hurting me!" She yelled non stop but he didn't listen.

When he arrived inside her bedroom, he threw her on the bed.

Aveline instantly got up and slapped him.

"Who do you think you are to boss me around, your majesty?!" She used a formal way to speak as if he was a stranger.

"Wh-wha..." Jack held his cheek, still in shock from the slap. "How could you, Avi?" He asked with a frown on his face.

"How could I? Well, how could 'you' drag me here in such a disrespectful way? Do you even still treat me as your friend? Or am I just one of the subjects that you have to dominate? Because I'm out!" Aveline stepped outside the room but couldn't step forward. Her hand was held by Jack tightly.

"Let go." She closed her eyes as she didn't even want to look at his face.

"No. You're not allowed to leave." The black-haired man spoke as he pulled her into his embrace.

"Let go, your majesty." She locked her gaze into his. Her green eyes were like a burning fire in rage.

"Calm down. I'm sorry." Jack mumbled as he gently pecked her forehead.

Aveline was confused by his reaction.

'I thought he was gonna kick me out of beheading me?? What's with him saying sorry??'

"Sleep. It's late. I'll deal with the bandage on my own." He tenderly kisses her cheeks and picked her up in a bridal style. She laid her in her bed and put a blanket on her so she wouldn't catch a cold from the cold weather.

"Good night." He softly whispered against her ear as he turned off the lights and closed the door behind him.

Aveline was dumbfounded.

'What the f*ck?! Is he crazy or something? I just slapped him! He could've had killed me, so why?..' Ave thought during the whole night, unable to fall asleep.

-After 2 months-

In the morning, Aveline woke up early although she didn't have a lot of time to sleep. She yawned as she slowly got off her bed.

"Your highness," a maid knocked at the door. She had dark blue hair and brown eyes. "Are you up?" She asked.

"Yeah," Ave replied as she opened the door.

"You should get freshen up soon." Hana, Ave's lady in waiting spoke with a bright smile. "What would you like to eat?" The blue-haired girl headed towards the curtains to pull them up.

"Hmm... Anything, really." The queen mumbled.

"Your highness, you should eat more! You're getting thinner than when you first came!" Hana cutely pouted.

Aveline chuckled finding her cute.

"Then make food that will get me fat~" She joked.

"Oh my, you're so funny, your majesty."

The two young women laughed together.

'It's been two months since I last saw Jack. Where did he disappear?' Ave wondered as she was sipping on her tea, sitting outside in the garden. It was her tea time. The moment she had the chance to savour delicious food without even having to work for it. In her past life, she would have to work her ass off to get enough money to live for an entire year and live normally. Luxury was something out of her reach.

The garden was filled with red roses and white lilies. It has a nice fragrance coming every day that passed by. Somehow, although the weather was getting colder, more flowers were still blooming each day. All the big bunch of small trees had the same height and were well managed.

The table was a small one but it was filled with all kinds of biscuits and cakes that Aveline craved. It also had teacups in white colour with a little golden around it. Additionally, the tea was inside a teapot that had transparent glasses around, making anyone wanting to have a taste.

There were two chairs, in case someone else would join her in her tea timing.

Aveline heard some steps coming from her back. She turned around to look who it might be. It was Jack Verzus. Her face brightened without her noticing.

"Jack!" She waved at him with a bright smile.

Jack glanced at her for a second and closed his eyes, walking on the opposite side he was heading to.

"Huh?" Ave blinked as she got ignored by him.

'Did he just ignore me?' She raised an eyebrow, trying to understand what just happened.
