59 Do you know what sin the "green" represents?

Everyone froze at the comment; their faces went blank, and shock combined with confusion painted their faces. First of all, they didn't expect a girl with wings to suddenly pop up out of nowhere to answer such a silly question that wasn't even aimed at her.

Taking advantage of the disarray, Dante analyzed the scene, recognizing that everyone is seemingly fighting Geto, and the enemies of Geto, a peculiar enemy, stood defiantly.

Dante said, "Choso...!? Aren't you on the wrong side of the battle!?"

Choso turned to him, his eyes widening in alert and wariness, quickly warning a semi-orange-pink haired boy wearing black clothes similar to the other black-haired guy that kamikazed himself, "Be careful, brother, she is really strong physically-"

"HEY!" Dante interrupted, pointing at Choso, his brow furrowed in skepticism. He couldn't believe what he was seeing, musing, "Why did you switch teams? Can we do that?? Is that even allowed??? Don't we suffer a penalty????"

Choso shook his head with a stern expression. Replying, "We never used a binding vow, and I always fought for my brothers. That's what I am doing right now, and if you are his enemy, then you are also mine-"

Dante pondered silently, "Wait, does that mean that..." Quickly shrugging it off, the rainbow-haired girl asked, "Can I join you? I don't have many reasons to stay here. I also want to know how strong Geto is so I can see if I can kill him! So what do you say, a truce?"

Geto interjected with his usual neutral tone, "I didn't expect you to betray me in such a blunt way... I was hoping for a surprise attack, but it is better that way. The inverted spear of heaven might help with the next six eyes, if there is even one..."

Dante felt slightly stupid because it was true... he should have attacked first and talked with the sorcerers. Dante said, with his eyes blazing in a fiery green, "Great idea! Next time, I'll try it out if I betray you, and you seem pretty good at using the abilities of others better than they can because that is probably what you would do If you betrayed me."

Geto gave his usual chuckle and raised an eyebrow, curious. He asked, "And how would you do that?"

A defiant grin spread across Dante's lips; he reached into his new inventory curse, where he placed the weapons and pulled out a dagger. It was the inverted spear of heaven, glowing with its usual menacing aura.

"With this!" Dante shouted and with a swift motion, he tossed it to Choso, who caught it reflexively with a wary gaze.

Choso looked at the weapon, puzzled. He found Raida extremely suspicious, the action of simply tossing away her weapon was extremely fishy, so he questioned her, "What do you want me to do with this?"

Dante, feeling the pain in his body disappearing from the effect of the potion he drank, babbled, "I can't explain much, but I'm running out of time..."

The yellow-haired girl interrupted the conversation, "Wait, You don't have any cursed energy!!! You said you were changing sides, and look, probably the higher-ups won't spare you for working with Geto, but if you help me, I might pull a few strings-"

Dante cut off her words, "No, I won't be here by that time." Inside his mind, thinking, "Because I'll be in a safe place, away from all these possible gold bags... a pity!"

Her face twisted into a comical expression of disbelief. She asked with her voice hinting incredulity. "Eh? Did they poison you?"

Deciding to ignore the blonde girl, Dante closed the gap between himself and Choso, saying, "I won't be in this world anymore, so at least I want to bring down Geto before leaving. Could you help me?"

Intensifying the urgency of the situation, the System prompted inside his head, "5 seconds left."

Choso silently agreed, and without any gesture, he lunged at Geto's position with his hands poised, ready to shoot a stream of lethal blood.

Dante got in position to sprint, but instead of rushing at Geto in a split second, he reached into his inventory, withdrawing a regular sword with his eyes fixating on the actual target he wanted.

For everyone else present, a sword just materialized out of nowhere, but before everyone could question why the sword gleamed with extreme killing intent, Dante aimed the sword at Choso's brother while Geto kept a huge smile, almost anticipating this turn of events.

"Sayonara," Said Dante as he swung the sword with all his strength. The metallic edge of the blade sliced through his neck without much resistance.

Or that's what he thought... Because fate had another plan.

A monstrous mouth appeared where the blade should have severed through, stopping the blade with sharp teeth. The mouth mockingly taunted, "Didn't I tell you? Wait your turn, greedy fox."

Anger overflowed Dante's mind. Weak and battered, with a hoarse scream, he yelled, "PIECE OF-"

Mid-sentence, a blitz of ice shards impaled him from behind, followed by the explosive detonation of a blood bomb near him. In the blink of an eye, Dante disappeared, and all the world began changing in his eyes, instantly transforming into the usual city of the system.

The players, the buildings, the familiar streets, everything was exactly like it was before leaving.

Suddenly, a radiant azure page appeared in front of him, floating in the air. "Midas Gem has been consumed; the side effect had been revealed." The words lingered just long enough to carve themselves into his memory before the page vanished into thin air.

Dante's mind whirled with confusion, discharging a storm of inquiries, "What...?"

A surge of searing pain erupted within him, quickly reminding him of the mortal wounds swarming his body. The System continued, "The Effect: GREED has been generated."
