1 Arrival of The Owl.

It has been one week since "The Incident". Alvin was still trying to forget everything that happened. He kept thinking about what that "man" looked like. "Impossible, it's all just a dream isn't it?" He whispered to himself. He said again: "Maybe it was a dream... Lemme call Mimi.." As he waited for his girlfriend to pick up, he noticed something big flying over his house.

"What's up honey..?" Mimi answered on the phone. Alvin paused for a moment and asked if she had seen a man that had no facial features. She replied with: "Isn't that the guy we met about a week ago..?" Alvin paused for even longer. "It wasn't a dream then.... B-But how..?" he asked. Mimi comforted Alvin on the phone and told him not to think about it too much.

Alvin stepped outside his house, looking for whatever that flew past his house. Nothing, there was nothing. He heard rustling noises coming from the trees behind the neighborhood. "Probably just birds..." he thought to himself. He looked up into the sky and at that moment, a single feather dropped onto his head. It was pitch black. He thought: "Is that a crow..? No.. It's too big for it to be a crow's feather.. I'll have to go research it."

Alvin placed the feather into his bag and rode off to the library. He borrowed a book about birds and took it back home. "What could this be...?" he thought to himself. Then he heard a knock on the door, it was Mimi. "Come on in darling!" Alvin exclaimed. They both sat down and studied the abnormal feather. "We've looked through the entire book.... Twice! But still nothing." Mimi said as she picked up the feather and continues to examine it.

"How about we take a break and eat something... We won't find anything either." Alvin said. Mimi nodded and the two went out to get food. However, they did not notice that something was watching them from afar. It kept watching, with its dark red eyes. Its sharp claws clinging on the branches of a tree, scraping the barks off of the tree that its standing on.

The two finished their meal and headed out to the library to return the book. "Did you find what you were looking for?" the librarian asked. Alvin and Mimi both answered no. They walked out and looked up into the sky. "Ah I know! I'll just ask Jack about this! He knows a lot about birds." Alvin said. He mailed the feather to his friend the next day hoping to hear from him soon. After a day or two, his friend called.

[The Call]

Alvin: "Any news?"

Jack: "Yeah.... I have bad news and good news."

Alvin: "Let me hear the good news."

Jack: "Good news is that I found what species of bird the feather belongs to.. Bad news is uh... You don't wanna know what it actually belongs to."

Mimi: "I still wanna hear about it..."

Jack: "It belongs to an owl. But, it's too big to be a normal owl."

Alvin: "Mhm..?"

Jack: "Well this feather comes from a deformed owl... Or you could say. Mutated."

Alvin: "It's not possible... How could someone mutate an owl..?"

Mimi: "We've seen quite a lot of things... It may just be "his" doing."

Jack: "Wha- What are you guys talking about..?"

Alvin: "So about a week ago.. We met this person that was dressed in all black. He had no facial features. It was terrifying.."

Jack: "No facial features... You mean like his face was just blank?"

Mimi: "Y-Yes..."

Alvin: "Let's talk about this when we meet in person."

Jack: "Yeah.. Goodbye buddy."

Alvin: "Farewell, Jack."

Three days after the call, Alvin and Mimi met up with Jack. They sat down at a fast food chain and talked about "The Incident". Alvin explained what the man looked like in greater detail so Jack could picture what he looked like. "Interesting..." Jack said. He followed up with: "Certainly unexplainable with Science."

Alvin asked if Jack had seen the mutated owl before. "I saw it for a split second, it flew right by the security cam outside our house." Jack said. Mimi then asked for Jack to show them what it looked like. The picture was a blurry mess, but they still saw the most distinct feature that it had. They were its big red eyes, they were glowing in that picture. Its claws stood out too, sharp and long. Almost blade-like.

They looked at the picture even more, zooming in and out. Jack said: "We may have to take a closer look at this thing.." They paused. "You mean like... Find it and capture it...?" Mimi asked. Jack replied with a simple yes. They looked at each other. "We hunting this thing down?" Alvin asked with confidence. Jack said: "Hell yeah." And the three of them headed out.

Alvin invited Jack and Mimi into his house. "How are we going to do this?" he asked. Jack pulled out his marker and walked towards Alvin's whiteboard. "We're going to trap it using nets. But we have to get a bait, might have to use one of us... Since I think this thing eats humans. My father owns a hunting rifle, we'll shoot it once it gets trapped inside our net. I recommend going for the leg. Since we don't wanna kill it, just injuring the thing will do." Alvin laughed and said: "Easier said than done."

They were too focused on planning out a trap for the creature that they did not notice that the creature had been staring at them all along. It looked at the three of them menacingly. It was about five feet tall. Its sharp claws clinging onto the tree. It had horns that resembled the Great Horned Owl. Its beak so sharp that it can cut through metal. It screeched, turning its head around while carefully observing what the three were doing.
