32 Epilogue

Eight months later...

''To have and to hold, from this day forward...For richer for poorer,in sickness and in health, till death do us apart...''

As Macy said those vows while looking into Daniel's eyes, she realised that all her wedding dreams have come true.

She was having a beach side winter wedding, wearing a red dress,a rose tucked behind her ears and the loveliest man ever staring down at her.

As a teenager, she'd dreamed of a perfect wedding. Of roses, lilies and peaches.

The only thing she hadn't given so much thought to had been her groom.

She'd dreamed of a fine man alright but she hadn't exactly known she'd be getting a typical prince charming.

Daniel's handsomeness took her breath away.

His jet black hair was brushed to the side and his tuxedo jacket clung to his body like a second skin, highlighting the broad expanse of shoulders.

His face beamed and he threw her a million dollar smile every now and then.

A shiver crept up her arm as Daniel took her hand and slid the wedding ring unto her finger.

She felt her lips quiver and the tears well up in her eyes.

She couldn't believe that Daniel was all hers; That after everything they'd had to fight through, today, they'd be standing in the presence of so many people, professing their undying love for each other.

The 'you may now kiss your bride' filtered into her ears just as Daniel gathered her in his arms and captured her lips.

She leaned into him and her eyelids dropped.

His kiss,as always, felt like redemption and she savoured the sweetness the soft fleshes that were his lips presented her.

Minutes later, after they'd finished their couple dance she was drawn out of the reception by her mother, because their baby Daniella was crying and needed to be breastfed.

As she  lifted her baby's chubby fingers while she was busy suckling, she couldn't control the laughter that burst out from her lips.

Now that she thought about it,she realized that in all her wedding dreams as a teenager, she never ever envisioned excusing herself from the reception to suckle a baby; Her baby. She couldn't believe she actually undid her bra straps on her wedding day to feed her wailing daughter, instead of in preparation to delve into intense pleasuring.

Brides did undo bra straps on their wedding days, but for entirely different reasons.

'A penny for your thoughts?'

She looked up and saw her husband leaning against the door frame.

She chuckled.

'They're crazy thoughts. Trust me you wouldn't want to hear about them'.

Daniel walked up to her and took Daniella–whom she now realised was no longer suckling but was stretching out her hands to her father–from her.

The bond Daniel shared with their daughter was mind blowing.

There had been doubts in her mind in the beginning.

After her and Daniel had gotten back together, she had begun to question whether or not he'd accept her baby too,the way he'd accepted her but the look she'd seen in his eyes the day Daniella was birthed cleared all her doubts away.

Daniel loved their baby, just like he loved her.

'You're happy,aren't you?'.

'I've never felt this happy all my life. I think I should count today the happiest day of my life'.

'Well, don't conclude yet babe cos there'd be happier days'.

She smiled.

She held her husband's word for it. If Daniel promised her happier days, then, there definitely are gonna be happier days.

He came closer, leaned over her and whispered to her, while lazily nibbling on her left ear.

'You haven't told me what you were thinking about when I walked in'.

'I told you. They're crazy thoughts'.

'Well, I want to hear them'.

'OK then,if you insist'. She said, tilting her face to meet his,a mischievous smile playing on her lips. '...I was wondering why I have to tamper with my bra straps on my wedding day for other reasons aside premium love making.

His eyes darkened and her stomach fluttered.

'That was really crazy indeed. But I guarantee you there'd be another round of 'tampering' with the hooks later tonight. And about the happy days we talked about, sweetie,I forgot to add that there'd be even happier nights'.

Her heart did a Summersault and dived into her stomach.

The heat in her husband's eyes was scorching and those same eyes held a promise of pleasure that she couldn't wait to experience later tonight.
