[Emery's POV]

It felt dark.

Darkness was encompassing me omni-directionally.

I couldn't see anything. No light.

Am I inside a black hole?

Or maybe an alien child has caged my whole being inside a black box?

I wasn't thinking straight and my thoughts felt disoriented.

My memories were all hazy and foggy.

What was happening to me?

After a few moments of trying to think really, really hard... the pieces of the puzzle started to merge.

"Truly dumb of me to forget that I had just died."

"It was just a few moments ago that the ever-so-pretty Mistress Death embraced me so tightly," I chuckled to myself.

"So this is how it feels after dying, huh?" I asked myself which made me feel stupid since...

I didn't know how it felt.

I felt nothing.

My whole being was in perfect harmony with the seemingly endless nullity of my new inexplicable environment.

"The great geniuses of the past like Albert Einstein and Nicola Tesla both believed in divinity, a higher power of existence called God, who is the supreme figure worshipped by many."

"Be it Islam, Christianity, Judaism... all of them have the concept of heaven and hell, the final resting points of our departed souls."

"Even though I am not a stout believer, I feel as if my spot has already been prepared in Hell."

I laughed at myself.

I didn't feel any self-pity.

"Wait a minute..." I entered into a momentary pause.

"Could it be that I am already in hell?" My voice was laced with uncertainty.

My assumption wasn't wrong in itself since I was the great sinner of humanity.

Ever since I was tossed into this new environment, my supposed high intelligence seemed rather useless.

What was human intelligence before matters concerning the transcendental forces of life and death? Nothing.

Humans can't defy or upend such forces of nature.

And I was the perfect living, no, it should be dead example since I was now a supposed astral existence - a soul awaiting damnation.

"I am bored. Maybe it's not my turn yet to slave away in turning hot coals for Lucifer." I joked to myself.

Just thinking about it, gave me jitters.

Time passed.

I didn't exactly know how long it had passed.

It could have been a second, days, years, or maybe an eternity.

My mundane mind couldn't ascertain how time flowed there, additionally, I didn't feel like counting my own time.

It would just make me crazier.

"Anyone home!" I shouted at the darkness.

I needed something to keep my mind occupied.

"I have been stuck here for god knows how long."

"Hey, the one hiding in there... Yeah, you. Could you just come out and take me to the place that I am supposed to be?" For Heaven's sake, wasn't I crazy enough?

Now I was already creating my own imaginary entity from the dark void surrounding me.

If the Isekai officials didn't come for me, then it was better to imagine some other bored entities coming to the rescue.

"Rob? Robby? The oh-so-omnipotent bot? Scooby Doo, where are you?"

Damn, I think my words were wrong there.

Probably, it wasn't supposed to be Scooby Doo. Or just maybe?

After an indefinite duration of useless shouting at the eternal emptiness, suddenly I saw the light.

Yeah, I saw that kind of light at the end of the tunnel.

A chance. An opportunity had come for me.

Wasn't this how the lost earthly souls in Isekai stories began their journey into the Reincarnation cycle?

But, oh boy, I didn't know how wrong I was.

That light wasn't meant for me to access the reincarnation cycle.

It sucked me into another place - a strange domain that wasn't exactly as dark as my previous environment but more dreadful.

Numerous thin threads of spider webs were all over the place.

Some webs were even larger than a planet. That's how big the domain was.

It gave off the feeling of being virtually endless.

Just being here made the monster inside uncomfortable since this very domain seemed like the Alpha and Omega of insanity.

It was a miracle or maybe due to a deliberate intervention of some force, that I was able to keep my mind in check.

"Now what?" I blatantly broke the tranquility of the place.

But suddenly...

"Ugh, for fuck's sake, can't you just fucking keep quiet for once, human?!" An extremely annoyed feminine voice reverberated all over the disorderly domain.

And I kept quiet.

My mouth tightly shut into obedience.

I became just another Black Bolt but not gruesomely like him.

Maybe more like Wade Wilson in the X-Men movie franchise.

Even if the beholder of that resentment-filled voice hadn't shut my mouth into obedience by whatever unscientific methods she used, I would have nonetheless kept my trap shut for real.

But honestly, where was that person?

I think she possibly held my passport to another dimension or maybe I was already in hell without knowing it.

"Your mind really never rests, doesn't it, little human?" A sultry voice sounded from behind me.

Before I knew it, I had already instinctively turned my neck(doubtful that I had one) to satisfy my curiosity.

I came face to face with the most beautiful yet terrifying entity I have ever laid my naked eyes upon.

It was a monster.

An extremely beautiful kind of monster.

A horned spider woman. An Arachne. A voluptuous monster girl.

Pretty sure the last description made her snort in disapproval as she nonchalantly observed me from her golden throne made out of golden silk.

Her beautiful silver hair cascaded all the way to her thighs.

A pair of shiny obsidian buffalo-like horns sprouted from both sides of her head.

The dark grey skin of her forehead was tattooed with a picture of a sand timer. It brought about the notion that TIME was hers and hers alone to command and toy with. She could have been very well its creator.

Her eyes were deep red like two huge ruby gems; soul-stirring and sinfully tempting.

Her dainty nose and thin rosy lips further accentuated the delicateness of her divine face.

She had 3 pairs of human arms dressed in gothic and sexy hand socks while the other pair was of arachnoid origin.

As for the way she was dressed, I didn't have the right words to describe the situation.

Her extremely curvaceous body was all out in the open for my eyes to feast upon but I didn't dare.

I didn't dare to ogle her body more than intended.

My Isekai hadn't started yet, then how would I dare?

Courting another kind of death at this juncture was not in my plans!

Some certain Animes and Light novels taught me very well.

"I am dead so I have nothing to do except for thinking," I replied truthfully after my speech capabilities were returned to me.

"I don't want to waste my time anymore with you after ruining my sleep." She said coldly.

"I have read all of your thoughts, your past, and... your near endless negative karma." She continued, her expression ever slightly changing into a thin smile that she tried to hide from me.

"You have murdered trillions of lives and buried an entire civilization."

Wow, that sounded like the jury.

"You are a killer, a monster."

"An Egocentric and pretty insane bastard." She couldn't hold it and her smile intensified.

Wow, she was crazier than me.

She's enjoying reading out all my sins as if she was the one who did them.

After ranting out all my negativities, she stopped and put one of her fingers between her lips.

And said the most surprising words, I didn't anticipate.

"You did well, Emery. This Auntie Spider is very proud of you."

"I will grant you one wish for your show of insanity." She finished with a giggle.

I didn't ask useless questions and decided to jump straight to what I wanted.

But before I could lay out my wish, Auntie Spider, or whatever god-like entity she was, played me dirty.

I know, I know I wasn't entitled to standard Isekai rewards called CHEATS but still...

Auntie Spider, why are you so ruthless?

Why kick me out of your domain just like that without letting me bring my wish to fruition?

Such unfairness!

Such evilness!

Being sent into an unknown dimension with a burst of insane, mocking laughter(and just a bit sexy) from a voluptuous monster goddess wasn't a good way to start an Isekai troupe.

I just hoped I wouldn't be yeeted into realities like Warhammer 40K, Dark Souls, SCP Foundation, Marvel, or DC.

Or else...

There would be hell to pay.

"Argh!" I woke up abruptly from the bed, with my body all sweaty.

The thick duvet had already kicked some distance away from the bed.

I looked like someone who had just escaped from a nightmarish dream.

My head felt as if it had been hit by megatons worth of nuclear blasts. The painful migraine was that intense.

I looked around, trying to analyze my surroundings but my thoughts were in a jumble and I couldn't think straight for even a second.

I was a mess.

Then... It came.

Another searing pain sliced through my head like no man's business.

"Argh!" I clutched my head so tightly like a psychotic.

My face was probably grimacing in excruciating pain.

What the fuck was going on?

Luckily, the pain didn't stay for long as strange memories began flooding my mind. More like merging with my pre-existing ones.

A cognitive expression formed on my visage after that.

I understood my circumstances.

"So this is it... the formulated procedure of a transmigrator, memory acquisition and not to forget the bitchy-ass headache." A deep, raspy, masculine voice emanated from me.

It was a foreign one, more different than my actual voice.

And, oh boy, that British accent...

But then again why did the voice sound so familiar?

"Off to the bathroom... Mirror-chan, I think your services are needed right now." I roughly climbed off the bed and ran to the adjacent door that led to my own bathroom.

There was no way I wouldn't be interested to know how I looked.

That sexy voice which was now mine had to be of someone extremely attractive.

I didn't even care to look at the lavish and spacious bathroom and scrambled for Mirror-chan.

And behold, there he was. The new me. The new Emery.

Wait a minute...

Holy cow.

This...

This face.

I proceeded to roughly touch my face, especially the angular jawline, chiseled and sharp as if sculpted by the gods.

Those light blue eyes and a little bit of heterochromia on the left iris.

Those dark eyebrows and curly strands of tousled, bed hair sticking out of my forehead.

The mustache, oh the mustache.

All of these exquisite features culminated in an extremely sexy face.

A god amongst men.

The face of the fucking Man of Steel and Geralt of Rivia.

I suddenly became Henry Cavill.

"What was that woman thinking when she transmigrated me into such a fine body?" I asked myself dubiously.

After a moment, I shrugged. "Anyway, it's not like I am complaining."

"With such a face, the women would be so ready to jump me any time of the day."

"In my past life, I had on-and-off relationships since they couldn't handle my insanity when it came to my work."

"Well, it is what it is. I hadn't been looking for any long-lasting attachment."

Priorities were what defined me, Emery. And women weren't part of the long list of my priorities.

"I am here thinking about nonsense instead of focusing on my new environment." I facepalmed.

It was very wise to be aware of my new reality.

And if I wasn't careful, I could have very well been inserted in Marvel when Thanos is about to do the inevitable snap.

I didn't want to underestimate the thoughts of the... wait, should I call her just The Weaver?

She weaved a golden throne of Spidey golden silk, right?

I didn't take the time to look around the nice house as I hurriedly accessed my MacBook.

Typing away the password, which was magically embedded in my mind, I went straight to the browser to access the Net.

While leaning on the study table, a look of surprise showed on my face.

"It's 15th August 2013. Isn't that kind of 'medieval'?"

Then I typed other things on the search engine.

"Obama bin Laden is still president." Oops, that's what I liked to call the president of the states.

After a round of searching for basic information about my new world, I came to the realization.

"This world is extremely identical to my past world."

But I didn't believe for once that the Weaver, Auntie Spider, would be kind enough to put me in a safe, boring world.

So I simply did what I did best.

Hacking.

Becoming one with the binary.

It only took a minute to find the loopholes inside the CIA's cyber-security system and hack their internal servers to access secret files and databases.

"Pentecost... Luna Pentecost... eh?" My eyes widened in recognition.

I knew that name very well. Especially, the Pentecost surname.

But to make sure what I was thinking was on point, I searched for other people.

Newton Geiszler, Gottlieb, Stacker Pentecost...

I found that they were all there.

"The CIA is truly capable. They even have access to the secret information of the British Intelligence Service when they are supposed to be in camaraderie." I released a breath of air as I sat myself on the comfy leather chair.

"I am in Pacific Rim but the chronology... Auntie Spider sent me almost a year before the K-Day." I couldn't help but smile foolishly.

God knows what I was thinking.

"Truly generous of her to send me right into the center of madness where I could be easily stomped to meat paste by a random kiloton Kaiju," I said sarcastically yet I wasn't in the least showing signs of irritation or fear in my eyes.

It was a wholly different feeling.

It was exciting.

Euphoria.

And I think found love...

The love of exploring a new, wild, and, terrifying universe of Monsters and Aliens.

"It's time to-" Before I could finish my words, a blue, digitized screen suddenly appeared in front of thy sexiness.
