[MC's POV]

It had taken me only a few minutes to traverse the distance between San Francisco and Alaska.

I had never felt so free and unfettered.

The unique euphoric feeling of being airborne while moving at hypervelocity speeds was so liberating!

I had felt like I was on top of the world, above the heavens and earth, and I alone was the supreme judge of life and death of the billions of lives below me.

When I had arrived at Anchorage's coastline, I had disabled any sort of surveillance and spying from the Pan Pacific Defense Corps' radar. And that had included jamming their communication links with the Jaeger deployed to take one Knifehead.

But on arriving at the site, the starting point of the main story, I was surprised to find that the Jaeger deployed wasn't… Gipsy Danger.

A change had happened. A sort of deviation from the original plot.

The Jaeger supposed to take one Knifehead had a feminine touch to it and had been totally in sync with the dark of the night.

Additionally, it had been a few years ahead of its time.

I hadn't interfered with the fight before it even started.

I wanted to analyze the capabilities of the Jaeger which I had soon come to decode as Black Widow.

I had wondered in curiosity how it would have fared against the slimy Knifehead.

Heck, I had even already made plans for its corpse in case Black Widow failed to kill it.

All in all, I would have taken it even if Black Widow had managed to kill it.

The fight between the two had started well, with Black Widow managing to land the first successful strike with its plasma-infused dark Katana. A good weapon for its sleekness if I might say. It had made me think of the Uprising model codenamed: Saber Athena, engineered for fluid maneuverability and speed.

But Black Widow was undoubtedly a cooler and way more powerful Jaeger than Saber Athena.

The Kaiju had an advantage over Jaegers when it came to weight and height but that couldn't stop a Jaeger piloted by two trained people from putting up a good fight.

Of course, to win, it all depended on what type of Kaiju they were fighting and how powerful was their weaponry system.

I had been taken by surprise by how Knifehead fought. Its way of fighting had some semblance with the one in the movies but I knew very well not to ultimately compare something that was on a screen to the real deal - my new perceived reality, a world where tens of thousands of lives would perish in just one day.

This new Knifehead seemed to have more battle intelligence incomparable to the movie one.

But this made me excited.

A deviation in the plot. A slight fracturing of the original timeline. It had made mull over the thought of my new world being an alternative universe to some degree but I had soon discarded the thought.

It had later on concluded that things were just… slightly different on the ground.

Life wouldn't always go the way you want every time. The world was impartial to every living being. And I wasn't an exception.

I only believed in myself and not the world or the damnable strings of fate.

Thus things not going as planned or as per the expected path had made the situation… more interesting.

Knifehead had shown cleverness and at the expense of its arms, it had managed to also take Black Widow's. A tit for tat. A sort of equivalent exchange.

Then things had just escalated so quickly and finally had been forced to play the knight in shining armor.

With a powerful solar beam attack from one of the shoulder mounted cannons, I had sliced off half of Knifehead's sharp head.

And the fucker had had the nerve of dropping dead after that.

Currently , I was standing right above where Knifehead had presumably dropped dead. And in one swift move like an experienced fisherman capable of directly snatching up fish from the waters, I grabbed Knifehead's neck and effortlessly raised it up in the air.

It was still silent. Dead. Unmoving.

"Ah, did the precursors by chance know about Oscar awards?" I asked myself while laughing inside the Conn Pod.

"Knifehead deserves such an award for such marvelous and magnificent talent in theatrics. The movies did it no justice." I had an expression showing unfairness while looking at the HUD showing the subtle life readings from it that could even fool PPDC's scanners.

Without waiting for it to pull an uno reverse card on me(even if it could, I could have definitely killed it thousands of times over), I instead played the 'undertaker' and tightly compressed its neck until I grotesquely separated its head from the rest of its body.

Liters of the Kaiju's blue blood spilled like a fountain all over the ocean but as for its gigantic corpse, I immediately sent it into my Inventory, including its decapitated head.

"Fatality," I murmured silently before shifting my attention to Jaeger in slightly critical conditions.

"Now what do I do with the people inside?"

"Should I leave them to drown or as food for the aquatic organisms?"

"Or just save them and use them to facilitate my first contact with other humans of this world - The PPDC?"

"There was no need for them to die. Won't I be a heartless bastard if I leave them just like that?" I said with righteousness stemming from my voice.

"I can't go to the Shatterdome while in this huge futuristic Jaeger. It would be so annoying to be asked so many questions at first contact as they wouldn't do so nonetheless." I thought carefully.

"It's better to avail myself in person while carrying the pilots." I decided to do just that.

"Yelena, you will take Void Primus back to base." My AI could easily pilot the Jaeger - Auto piloting to be more accurate.

The drivesuit then started to mechanically leave my body, piece by piece until I was left in my casual clothes. It was just like in Pacific Rim: The Black.

And from the inventory, I removed another futuristic suit that I got after some random lottery draw over the years.

I hadn't bothered with the resource points that I had gained over the course of the 7 years as I had mainly been invested in my little world of research.

I could already foresee the amount of good stuff that I would be getting myself.

"Kryptonian alloy." I commented while smiling at the masterpiece used by the Kryptonian soldiers in Man Of Steel.

General Zod, Nam-Ek, Faora…

Especially Faora… She had been hot to the point of burning the viewers to cinders.

"And now, I am known as Kal El. Isn't this just perfect?" I shrugged while smiling helplessly.

Later on, I was fully clad in Kryptonian armor and that also included my face.

Some mystery wouldn't hurt, would it?

It was officially time to meet the main characters of this world!
