22 Digging Your Own Grave

"Fuhaku-san, can you help out with something?" I asked Fuhaku who was still too amazed by my perfect Sage Mode.

Fuhaku quickly snapped out of his daze, "Aiii... Jiraya-chan really was serious when he said that you could master any skill instantly. It's only been ten minutes since we began our training. What can I help you with, Akira-chan?"

"Can you tell me if it is possible to get extra abilities from Sage Mode. Some thing like aspect of elements?" Fuhaku was instantly alert.

"Don't tell me Akira-chan that you obtained those abilities?" I nodded at him.

"Sigh... My heart won't be endure anymore surprise at this rate. Is there anything else?" Fuhaku asked while looking at me like I was some kind of monster.

I embarrassingly scratched the back of my head, "No... I don't think so."

"Alright tell me then do you know what ability is that you obtained."

"It's Serene Mind and Wild Lands." Fuhaku trembled hearing that.

"You got both of them? Unbelievable! Even Great Honourable Geezer only has Serene Mind."

"Is it some kind of big deal?", Hearing that the normally kind Fuhaku went into frenzy and started trying to beat me with that special stick he had. My emphasis being 'try' since I still had my Sage Mode active so with my Serene Mind I could see through all his attacks.

I have to say though, all the attacks he did was like ripples being created on the water surface. Since Fuhaku was a Sage himself it seems his attacks had wide extension but it was useless against me.

He kept trying trying to hit but soon gave up seeing that his efforts while futile.

"Akira-chan, you will be the death of me you know. Do you know how rare it is to be able to use Elemental Senjutsu?" Fuhaku berated me.

"Elemental Senjutsu?" I tilted my head in confusion. I had never heard of such thing and I am sure there was no such thing in the anime.

"Yes... Elemental Senjutsu. It is an art of trying to grasp the true essence of element itself. The nature transformation that you ninjas do are nothing but a child's play comparing it to the Elemental Senjutsu. It's almost impossible to grasp it. Grasping the essence of element means taking in the aspect of that element itself." Fuhaku explained to me making me realise that this ability was in an entirely different level.

"But why are you surprised that I manged to gain two of those ability?" I asked him.

"It's because normally it is impossible to be able to handle two elemental aspect at once. More over it's the elemental aspect of opposing elements. Do you understand me?"

I nodded at him. Then briefly realised something.

"You just said that the Elder Sage had Serene Mind, right?" Fuhaku answered my question with a prideful nod.

"Don't tell me he was hiding his strength by utilising the Serene Mind?"

"Ah... so you had noticed it. You really are one heck of a lad, Akira-chan. Being able to sense his suppressed strength without even Sage Mode."

So that's the reason he only had Lvl 1 being shown. Quite impressive.

As I had finally gained enormous boost in strength, I wanted to test it out but from the look of it even Fuhaku wouldn't be able to match me properly even with his high Lvl.

Then suddenly I had a light bulb flashing in my mind.

"Say Fuhaku-san, is it possible to request a spar with Elder Sage. Since you know we both can use Elemental Senjutsu. It would be quite beneficial to me." Hearing my advice Fuhaku looked at me weirdly. Muhahaha... it was time to get some pay back for that prank.

He just gave a sigh, "If that's what you want then I can arrange it. Just wait here."

After half an hour, Fuhaku came with Elder Sage that was being carried by Gamabunta.

"Hahaha... so kid wants to spar with Great Honourable Sage. I admire your guts." Gamabunta laughed. I raised my eyebrows at that but dismissed it.

"So Akira-kun, it seems you have mastered Sage Mode. I must say I am impressed." Elder Sage smiled gently but I could say he had some kind of intent behind his words.

Why am I suddenly feeling uneasy?

I checked out his Lvl again.

What!? I still can't see his level? Why the hell can't I see it?

"Alright Akira-kun let's start our spar then, ok?" With that said his body rippled and suddenly I wasn't looking at the wrinkled old toad.

In front of me was a muscular giant toad filled with immersed vitality. I gulped looking at him.
