-- MC POV --

My father was truly a genius. With his water affinity and the skill level of an elite Jounin, he was a formidable force to be reckoned with. Unfortunately, he met his end in a suicide mission that was at him imposed by Hanzo of the Salamander.

But he was no ordinary man, for he knew about the trap that lay before him, having planned a contingency plan years ago.

Along with my mother, he had prepared safe houses in advance, just in case they ever had to go rogue.

However, there was a problem. My mother and I were under constant surveillance by the village and were next on the hit list after him.

So, in a daring attempt to create an opening for us to escape, my father decided to become the bait and bring maximum attention to himself.

Before he embarked on his mission, he entrusted me with his inheritance, which included all of his valuable research and techniques, body training manuals, chakra control and nurturing manuals, and a summoning scroll of an unknown origin and an unknown beast clan.

'I couldn't help but wonder why he didn't use it for himself, nor did my mother ever use it'. I was told that I'll have all the answers when I read his will.

Unfortunately, the house that I currently live in was not a safe house prepared before, but one that my mother build in a harry after the compromise of two other safe houses by some ninja hunters from the Village hidden in the rain.

As I sat in the basement of my house, I pondered over my father's actions.

'Perhaps he underestimated my mother's love for him'

For in a sudden outburst of anger, she attacked Hanzo of the Salamander and attempted to assassinate him. Although she barely escaped with her life, the grief of losing my father and the injuries she sustained took a toll on her mental and physical health.

Before she passed away, my mother imparted to me, along with her disciple Emi, invaluable knowledge.

She taught us how to read and write, common sense of the shinobi world, unlocked our chakra, taught us hand seals and trained us for a year before death reaper came to claim her soul.

She also documented all her techniques and tips regarding her elemental affinities of water and earth, including her medical ninjutsus.

'That's very convenient!'

She also told me about what she did back then in that small village where the sisters lived. She explained how she had found a talented girl and intended to nurture her to be my support and shield.

She recounted the attack and how she had already known about it, because she was a sensor kunoichi. She shared with me that she let Emi fight for her life to harden her resolve and test her mental fortitude.

She revealed that she had let the other ninja have his way with her big sister and intervened when the deed was done just to make them more dependent on her and be a figure to be idealized.

She described how she had lied, taken her time killing all the attackers and villagers alike, except for the two sisters.

She admitted that she had only half-heartedly healed her big sister just to ensure she lived long enough until Emi could adapt to the idea of losing her and avoid any mental breakdown.

My mother was always like that, always describing the good and bad deeds she had done throughout her life, to ensure I wasn't naïve and at the same time wasn't cruel and savage.

Before her death bed, she made me promise to make Emi always be happy and treat her as a sister, to never neglect training, and to be a mental support to her, just as she had been to them.

She never apologized for what she had done to the sisters because she was convinced it was the right course of action for her loved ones.

'I won't judge, but I'm not a five years old brat anymore, not mentally at least'

The basement was well lit, with several seals inscribed in the ceiling providing a good enough pool of light in the center of the large room.

The walls are made of rough, gray stone, giving the space a cold and uninviting feel. It was clearly made from an earth Justsu. Dust covers every surface, and cobwebs hang from the ceiling like wispy, ethereal curtains.

After another round of cleaning, I went to one wall where there is a bookshelf made of old, dark wood.

The shelves are lined with books, scrolls, and other materials related to ninja training and techniques. Some of the books have been well-used and are frayed around the edges, while others are newer and still in pristine condition.

'Those probably what my mother prepared for us' I mused seeing the new books and scrolls.

In one corner of the room, there is a small wooden table with another light seal inscribed atop it.

'I really need to learn fuinjutsus as soon as possible, it is very convenient for everyday life needs. And with the processing capabilities of my computers, it's like I was born for it'

Next to the table was a small, rickety chair, which creaked with every movement 'I need to fix that, it is annoying me, or I can just grab another chair from above'.

On the table, there is a stack of paper, ink, and a quill, along with a few other odds and ends, but what grabbed my attention was the scroll with the tag name in it that says "Nikko clan" with the symbol of a black sun with red wings, it was the symbol of my clan.

This scroll contains the inheritance of the Nikko family, my father's final gift to me. My mother never let me open it, she said I'll be free to check after her death.

Nearby, there were some training wooden and steel poles, a wooden sword, and a few other practice weapons, such as kunais, shurikens, tantos and a magnificent Katana leaned against the wall.

'It seems the basement doubles as a training area, with just enough space for the several people to practice their techniques.'

I ignored these things for the moment. I sat down in the chair beside the table and started unlocking the scroll.

It was sealed and to unseal it I need to use my blood and chakra. After poking my finger with a senbon I already prepared, I let my blood touch the seal and manipulated my chakra to enter the scroll.

With a poof the scroll was unsealed and revealed what was inside it. A letter, a scroll and a book.

I first took the letter and started reading it. I recognized the writings as my father's.

"Dear Zumio,

I hope this letter finds you well.

It pains me to think that I won't be there to see you grow up, but I hope that you will know how much I loved and adored you. You were the light of my life, and I am grateful for every moment we had together.

I know that my mission and subsequent death may have left you with many questions and perhaps even anger. I want you to know that it was never my intention to leave you behind, but sometimes in life, things happen that are beyond our control. I hope that you can forgive me for leaving you so early in life, and I hope that my memory can serve as a source of inspiration for you in the future.

I want you to know that I am proud of you, and I have no doubt that you will go on to do great things. I hope that you will find love and start a family of your own someday. Having a child like you has been one of the greatest joys of my life, and I hope that you get to experience that same joy someday.

I know that your mother may be feeling a lot of pain and anger right now. I want you to promise me that you will not pursue any kind of revenge or justice on my behalf. Take good care of your mother, she can be handful but she is kind. The ninja world is corrupt, and it is not worth risking your life over. I know that it may be tempting to seek revenge, but it will only lead to more pain and suffering. I hope that you can find it in your heart to let go of any anger or resentment you may feel towards it and move forward in peace.

Now, onto more practical matters. I have left you my inheritance, which includes all my findings throughout my long years of research regarding techniques, body training manuals, chakra control and nurturing manuals, and a summoning scroll that I crafted myself, it's unknown where it will lead you and what chakra beast clan could emerge from it, or if it could be aggressive or not, promise me you'll never use unless you are strong enough.

But the most important thing that I want to pass on to you is my life's work, a technique that I worked tirelessly to perfect. I call it the "Assea Body Inscription jutsu."

The technique consists of engraving the figure of a chosen chakra beast on the user's body to create a blood companion. The blood companion will have the same strength as the actual chakra beast if its element matches with the user since it's fueled by the chakra in the user's body. The process to create the blood companion is complex and must be followed strictly otherwise the inscription will fail. There are no elemental requirements, but the jutsu will be stronger if paired with a chakra beast of the user's same element. The blood companion will have the intelligence of a small child and can evolve with the user, learn new techniques, and will always be loyal to its master. They have their personality and can be a source of great comfort and strength. The only requirement to this technique is to find what is your inherited beast, it is usually linked to your personality and experience. When you achieve you first blood companionship you will also gain the ability to transform to your inherited beast. You will find all the detail in the other scroll I left behind.

I apologize that I was not able to complete my research on enhancing the abilities of the blood companions with natural energy. Perhaps, one day, you will be able to complete what I could not. The other book contains my finding regarding natural energy and sage mode, used by the first Hokage Senju Hashirama.

I want you to know that I am always with you, and I will always love you. I hope that my teachings and my legacy will live on through you, and that you will use them to do great things in this world.

Love always,

Your father."

'Damnit!!! That hurts more than my suffering with stomach cancer during in my last life' I said as my eyes began to moister, but I didn't cry.

Instead, I smiled and bowed deeply to express my gratitude and respect for the man.

"Thank you, father, I shall keep your words in mind and make your technique even perfect" I said out loud with great determination.

I opened the scroll that contains the information about the technique and I was surprised by its ingenuity.

'My father was really a genius' I mused.

'It actually reminds me of a technique used by the protagonist of a certain novel, the principles are the same but the execution is different and more meticulous, it actually takes advantage of fuinjutsu to make it more perfect and have greater control and less chances of failure. It seems that also the how many could I create depends on my mental fortitude and chakra. Though, chakra only play a role the beginning of the process of creating blood companion. After that they would be self-sufficient' I studied the technique while recording it in my mind palace.

There was also information about my family origins at the end of the scroll, but I wasn't interested in it because my father was an orphan and I am the last member alive of the Nikko clan.

"Now let's read and record all the books here and abuse my cheat to the fullest" I stated as I begin heading to the shelve of books.
