Chapter – 29: The First Class

[Rei POV]

It seems I am the last person to enter Class 1-A. As soon as I enter, I am greeted by the familiar place that I have seen countless times in the anime. It is extremely similar to what I remember, the same circular rows of desks. I could even see the familiar faces again. All of the Jonin instructors of the future Konoha Rookie 9 are here. In addition, there are people like Nohara Rin, etc. Surprisingly …or not, Uchiha Obito is absent.

'Probably helping some old grandma,' I think as I walk to the center desk of the last row which has a seat vacant. It's next to some random guy who I am pretty sure will die a horrible death in a few years. Initially, he wants to speak to me, but seeing the crest on my back shuts him up.

As we wait for our sensei to come, I look around with some curiosity. It is still unbelievable for me that I am in this world. But the fact that I am here means there is a higher power, there is a path towards immortality. This once again reaffirms my ambition.

I could see Rin stealthily looking at Kakashi who had lifeless eyes with tender affection, 'She is not meant to be a Kunoichi, she is too kind for her own sake, no wonder she will be used as a pawn to make Obito stronger.'

I could also see bushy-browed Maito Guy in his green jumpsuit giving his youthful smile, Asuma who is a bit arrogant looking sneakily at Kurenai while acting like a proud peacock, etc.

As I was in my own world checking out anime characters, our sensei enters the class and to my utter surprise, it's the same guy who tested me just a few minutes ago.

"Students, I'll be the homeroom teacher for this class, and my name is Akiyama Masaki. You can call me Masaki-sensei!"

"Hai-sensei"

"Good, now let's start by introducing yourself! Say your name, your hobbies, your ideals, and start from the first row!"

After that everyone started to introduce themselves. Most of them were generic 'I wish to protect the village or loved ones' kind of nonsense, nothing interesting or ambitious yet. But the introductions hit a bit of a snag when it came to Kakashi who said, "I'm Kakashi Hatake. I have no desire to tell you my likes and dislikes… My dreams for the future… I have many dreams… As for my hobbies… I have lots of hobbies…"

'It seems Kakashi's signature intro from the anime was there from the start.' I think with a smile.

With an awkward smile, Masaki-sensei continues with the charade. One ofter the other the students introduced themselves: Nohara Rin, Maito Guy, Sarutobi Asuma, Yuhi Kurenai, Mitarashi Anko, Shiranui Genma… and finally,

"I am Uchiha Rei, I like reading books and my dream is to become the best Medical Ninja and save a lot of lives," I say with a grin.

Masaki-sensei is a bit surprised by an Uchiha saying he wants to become a medical ninja, but that's about it. Because he already knows that the possibility of me awakening the Sharingan is rather small and even if I did my aptitude is still too low, he thinks it is better I focus on something else. As for me, with Tsunade's memories, it would be a waste not to become a medical-nin.

There is one more hidden agenda, as a Medical-nin, I can openly treat people for a small amount of their blood as payment, sneakily procured of course.

Just as everyone's introductions were about to be completed, Obito's entry happened with some random excuse like was helping a lost cat find a home or something.

Other than that, it was a pretty boring class. I had to listen to Masaki-sensei's nonsense for hours. Even with my patience, I was starting to get irritated.

Thankfully, I was able to endure it till the end that's when I decided that I will never come to this place again. One day was already too much for me.

"Okay, that's it for today. Tomorrow, we will have our very first, Class-ranking matches, so make sure you get good rest today."

With that my first day at the ninja academy came to a close. And I hope this will be the last as well.

** Some time ago **

Hokage office.

[Third Person POV]

Hiruzen was smoking his pipe looking as if in deep thought. On his desk were multiple huge stacks of papers. Directly in front of him were the reports on a dozen or so individuals, which even had their most recent pictures. If one looks carefully, these were reports on a dozen or so new students at the academy! Rei was spot on in his guess that Hiruzen will most likely measure the talents of all the Uchiha. He even had complete reports on every student that showed even a tiny bit of potential.

Two of these reports were laid on top of all others, one was Hatake Kakashi and the other was surprisingly Uchiha Obito!

'Someone talented enough to awaken those cursed eyes appeared once again! what should I do? should I get rid of him before he matures?'

After banging his for a while, he decides, 'No! no one is born evil. I can see this child has the Will of fire in him. Oh, that's right, I can have that brat Minato guide him along with Kakashi. Mmm.. let's go with this.'

"Keep an eye on him," he says. It is a bit weird because there was no one else besides him inside the room. It's as if he was talking with the shadows themselves.

One report that he didn't pay much attention to, in fact, no one else did, was placed almost at the bottom of the stack. It read Uchiha Rei, with Rei's photo and some details like his chakra reserves, jutsu he can cast, etc. along with his dream to become the best Medical ninja. If Rei had seen this, he would be … delighted?
