13 Chapter – 13: Uchiha Obito

[Rei POV]

'Also, if this theory is correct, I won't need to wait till Sasuke is born to get EMS. If this theory is correct, then the only reason Sasuke and Madara awoke their EMS is, during their emotional turmoil of harming their brothers, their own chakra somehow subconsciously merged with Indra's chakra inside of them which became perfectly compatible with all twenty-seven genes, causing all of them to activate thereby gaining EMS. If I can just find all twenty-seven active genes in different people, I can have my own EMS.'

Currently, I can think of two ways to replace inactive genes with active ones. The first is to develop a gene-activating serum using the active genes as ingredients. The second way is to develop a technique similar to the Karma seals of the Otsutsuki which they use to inject Otsutsuki DNA into a compatible person. The closest ones to that I can think of are Orochimaru's curse seal and Tsunade's byakugo seal. Basically, they split the two functions of the Karma seal. One can store genes and the soul and the other can store chakra. Maybe the Sannins really did come across some Otsutsuki knowledge.

It is extremely hard to get that knowledge from the Sannins. If my Project Parasite goes as planned, then I can insert parasites into Shizune and Anko (The disciples of the Sannins) to get it, but it takes too long and this plan is not too reliable.

On the other hand, although the gene-activation serum needs too much research and testing, I don't have to depend on someone else or worse luck.

'Ok. First, I will start by gathering more blood samples to get all twenty-seven active genes. That is my first priority. Thank god, I have experimented with DNA all my previous life. I will need to start developing the serum soon. In the meantime, I can let my Sharingan develop to its limit,' I think as I start making plans on how to efficiently bleed more Uchiha, literally!

Anyway, I already wanted to start on Project Parasite, but this only brought it forward. I will keep this as a backup for now.

Two days pass and came the day for my first class with other orphans to learn to read and write. In these two days, I didn't go to find that medical ninja big sister or anyone for that matter. I went with my original schedule of practice and playing at the park. Although I want to collect all the active genes ASAP, for now, what I have is enough. I don't need to take the risk of getting popular, the profits are not worth the risk. I still plan to go once in a while, but not regularly.

The classes take place in a small room inside the library itself. It is specifically prepared for these classes. The room itself was not big, only has space for around ten kids. As soon as I enter, I see three snotty kids playing and giggling foolishly.

'Not this again!' I scowl internally but I also join them and start playing.

Some ten-odd minutes later a stern old man in standard Uchiha outfit which consisted of a high-collared, blue shirt with the Uchiha crest on the upper back and blue pants which were wrapped up in bandages at the ends. On his waist, he had a bandage belt that held a sack that presumably held ninja tools.

Once he is in, all of us turn towards him. I initially thought he will be a stern old man from the way he looks, but when as soon as he began his class I knew I was wrong.

"Hello, little ones! You can call me Teijo-sensi," he says with a smile, "Before we start, why don't we introduce ourselves. My name is Uchiha Teijo, I am a Jonin of Konohagakure. why don't you go next?" he points to a ponytailed little girl.

"I … I… am… " just when a shy little girl was doing her long intro, a loud three-year-old barges into the room. How do I know he is loud? he literally came screaming "I am Uchiha Obito and I will become the Hokage!"

It was really unexpected that he had this Hokage mania right from the get-go. I mean the canon was spot on. There really are such idiots. Originally I believed the anime should have over-exaggerated it, but it seems to be actually true.

"Calm down, kid!" says Teijo sensi.

After settling down the problem kid, the introductions begin once more. This time there are no surprise entries thankfully.

"Now who among you knows how to read?"

I look around to see if anyone knew, but everyone else is also doing the same thing. Of course, we are orphans, I already expected it to be as such.

"That is fine, we are here to learn"

And so my first lesson on reading in the new world begins.

**time skip after class**

The class was exactly as I expected. Too slow for me, but even then I have to look dumb. Nightmare!

As I start to leave, I see Obito walking towards me.

"Hi, You! Mmm, your name isssss?" he tries hard to remember my name by hitting his head but fails.

"Rei, Uchiha Rei," I say with a smile.

"Ya Rei, I see you playing around in the park all the time, do you want to join us? I already have," he starts counting his fingers, "Three friends, we can play together!" he says with a huge foolish grin while stretching his hands for a handshake.

"Really? I would love to play with you guys!" I say in excitement while shaking his hands.

"Good! Come near the monkey bars tomorrow morning, we will play seek," he shouts while already running towards who knows where.

'Dear lords! I have become friends with Uchiha Obito, I have great plans for you don't disappoint me,' I grin devilishly.
