[Rei POV]

Still finding a path is not enough. I still have to walk towards my goal step by step. My immediate goal is Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan.

'So, I have twenty-seven mutated genes. Let's see what's so special about them,' I think and start to analyze the mutated genes more carefully this time.

As I start to look, I instantly notice two of my mutated genes are different than others. They seem more active and seem to emanate some kind of weird energy. The others although different from a normal gene, are still, how should I put it, they seem to be asleep when compared to these two who seem to play in all their glory.

'Mmm, why are these two different?' I think, 'Let me check the other samples.'

In the other samples I checked, all of the twenty-seven mutated genes seem to be asleep. It doesn't take a genius to guess it. My activated Sharingan seems to have changed some of these mutated genes.

'So, awakening Sharingan changes one's mutated genes and makes them active?' I think, 'If that's the case, is the reverse also true? If I activate more of these mutated genes my Sharingan would also evolve?'

'Also, if I activate all the mutate genes, would that mean I would have the same genes as Indra Otsutsuki and get Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan?'

'It could be true, but I don't believe it would be easy to activate all twenty-seven. There must be a reason only Madara and Sasuke activated EMS in the canon, most likely the Indra chakra! I hope it is not true, or else I would have to wait till Sasuke is born to get my own EMS because I don't even want to consider Madara for obvious reasons.'

'Also, what is this weird energy inside of these genes? It seems like my chakra but is also different. But it kinda feels intimate with me,' I think.

I don't have much research data. I need to get my hands on more blood samples from Uchiha who have activated their Sharingan.

'They won't just give me their blood because I asked them nicely right? I snicker'

I must find a place that many Shinobi of the Uchiha clan gather and it must also be a place where they can get injured or go there after getting injured. There aren't many places like that, but the Konoha Hospital is one of them. I can also check out the practice grounds and try my luck.

'First, let me check out the practice grounds, if it doesn't work then no choice but to go to the Hospital. I really don't want to appear on Hizuren's or Danzo's radar. But for my goal…'

[Beep! Warning! Emotional quotient exceeding limits!]

'Shit! Almost did something stupid again!' my face darkens as I try to calm my nerves.

[Beep! Emotions back to normal.]

'Humph,' I exhale deeply 'Konoha Hospital is out of bounds. Practice grounds it is. If it doesn't work, I might have to think of something else.'

When I reached the practice grounds, there was no one else there. I decided to search the ground while waiting for someone to come. With the help of A. I chip, I was able to scan the grounds fairly quickly. It seems my luck was pretty bad, I couldn't even find a single bloodstain.

'This is highly inefficient, I need to find some other way' I think and start to walk back 'I will still go look at the grounds each day, but the chances of me finding something there is not high.'

Where will I have a chance to gather Uchiha blood cells other than the hospital?

Then another question hit me, how would a medical ninja dispose of used bandages or other tools after using them? would they burn it with ninjutsu? dispose of it in the trash?

'One man's trash is a treasure for another! so true!'

The Second Ninja War is almost here, so the atmosphere between the hidden villages has already started to worsen. There have been many small and large skirmishes in the borders. So, the number of injured people is rather large.

I easily spotted an Uchiha medical ninja treating someone injured. I go near them and start to look curiously at them. The medical ninja, amused by the little kid's actions asks, "Hi Kid, what are you looking at?"

They both seem friendly after seeing the Uchiha crest behind my back. No matter how arrogant they are to outsiders, they are always warm towards their own. That has always been the Uchiha mentality.

"Big sister, what are you doing?" I ask in the most adorable way I can. I especially say big sister although she seemed a bit over thirty. I know no one likes being called old, especially women.

"This uncle here was injured on his last mission so I am treating his wounds," she says with a smile.

"Wow! Uncle, are you a ninja?" I ask in a fanboy tone.

"Haha, yes, I am a Chunin!" he says proudly.

"So cool!" I practically have stars in my eye, "Uncle can you can use the Sharingan? can you please show me? pretty please?"

"Haha sure, why not?" he says and activates his two tomoe Sharingan.

"That's so awesome!"

"Don't worry you will also have your own if you train well," he encourages.

After some more meaningless talk, the old man leaves, not before smiling and waving to me. I also happily wave back. Not because I am faking it, because I collected quite a bit of his blood sneakily. Then I look at the medical ninja big sister as if she was a treasure trove.

"Big sister you are so awesome, you help so many people get better!" I say. Before she leaves, I need a reason to follow her, "Are you going to help more people? Can I come with you?"

"Why do you want to come?" she asks with a fake suspicion.

I make an embarrassed face, "I am bored, I can see cool Sharingan again if I go with you, right? Please? I will be a good boy!"

"Ok, but you have to help me carry stuff," she says with a victorious grin and hands her tools to carry. But on the inside she is embarrassed, she forgot to get her storage seal in a rush when she was asked to come quickly.

'Got a safe channel to get blood samples,' I grin.
