The crackling of leaves was deafening as Sara and I ran through the forest

The farm was burning down in the background and on both sides of us, we could see black shadows chasing beside us

I looked at my partner and it was obvious that she was becoming more and more exhausted the farther we ran

Anyways, apparently their leader told em to capture us. "Diamonds in the rough" One of the guys quoted, which makes me think what the fuck those other 'shinobi' told to their superiors because we certainly aren't prodigies of that level

Hell, if I were anywhere near a genius of even Itachi's or Neji's level, I'd damn well make more use of it than waiting eight years to figure out where I was rebirthed

Moving on, we obviously told them to feck right off when they offered to take us in. If we were going to become any sort of shinobi, and we both heavily agreed on this, then it was going to be on our own terms

The shinobi were pissed when they heard that answer and tried to knock us out which almost succeeded of not for my instincts courtesy of #1

We both barely rolled out of the way of their neck chop and broke through the window as one of them launched a couple Phoenix fire Balls at us that 'harmlessly' impacted on the window sill

Continuing, this brings us to our current situation. Sara looks about ready to collapse while I'm carrying her through the trees

I managed to cut the shinobi off by jumping off the head of a bear and making it aggro on them which was perfect seeing as how I had just found the only small tunnel in a hundred miles radius from the farm

Sara was laid carefully on the ground as I dropped unceremoniously beside her

Thank God I decided to train more heavily in control compared to her. I don't think I would have been able to get the drop on them

I began to fall asleep myself as the sun fell below the horizon on the western end of the tunnel, bathing the sky in a dark purple color

The scorching sun was the one to awaken me the next day. It also alerted me to the horrible half sunburn I had on the entire right side of my body

Sara just had to come in at that moment and laugh at my bad luck

I gave a halfhearted glare and moved into the shady part of the tunnel, relieving me of the stinging sensation

The girl moved to sit across from me, making eye contact with a 'don't give me any shit right now' expression

"Where the fuck do we go now?"

Oh. I almost thought she was going to ask how we got away but this is also a valid question

"Haven't thought about that yet"

Might as well give her the truth..

"What? Why are you annoyed with than answer? I just woke up~! Gimme some time to think!"

The glare I received was enough to kick-start me fully awake

There was silence for a few minutes before I perked up

"Let's split up!"

"Split up? What the hell do you mean 'split up''?"

I managed to pry her hand off my ear and scoot away

"What I mean is just that, split up! You go somewhere like Kusa, Iwa or Suna, and I go to Kumo or Kiri. Konoha out for obvious reasons…"

Sara calmed down and started to think about it, thank god

"Fine, we'll split up. I got Suna, Iwa and everything in between?"

Sara nods before giving me a tight hug, saluting me, and running off towards the direction of River Country

A sigh came out and I went off towards the east, towards the coastal harbors
