Chapter 24

"Luckily, my gym pants are made of my hair," said Mirio, topless as he looked at me.

Seeing that I was sent flying, I channeled my chakra to my feet and stuck at the edge of the ring.

I never knew that Mirio was this strong when it came to hitting, and I looked at him.

He smirked as he looked at me.

'His quirk, when he metalizes, his mass, or atoms get closer. Maybe that's what causes his hit to gain power.' My head hurt, thinking that scientist's stuff didn't suit me now. There were many things in this world that my previous world's logic didn't apply to. All I needed to know wasn't how he hit me hard, but how to hit him harder.

"Very well," I replied, walking toward him with my hands in my pocket. "You won't get lucky the next time."

"Hahaha," Mirio replied with a laugh, punching to my face. I tilted my head, letting that fist pass by me. Mirio pointed his arm forward, another arm up, and he glided through the ground. Some invisible force seemed to push him to me.

With the wuxia martial arts I bought from the system, countering this wasn't a difficult job. I didn't dodge. Instead, I gave a step kick toward his foot, and he flipped in the air. I then held him from his hand, twisting it and applying a force that forced his head flying to the ground.

These martial arts weren't meant for self-defense, but for killing, and I acknowledge that I forgot about that detail. However, I didn't use lethal strength, and luckily, Mirio glided through the ground, getting swallowed by it.

"Look at that! Mirio surprised us with how hard he hit. But Kenshiro had the advantage when it came to martial arts," Present Mic's voice echoed. From the ground, Mirio's figure emerged.

"I thought I was lucky to dodge that. But," Mirio held his wrist and applied pressure, the sound of his bones cracking could be heard. "You twisted me there. Ouch." He couldn't fix himself.

"Lemme help you," I said, extending my hands to him. I needed to let him off guard for a second. Mirio didn't seem suspicious of me, and he gave me his hand. I applied pressure to it, and his bones were back. Mirio screamed a bit in pain. And I used that moment to grab a hair from his head.

I succeeded, and I suppressed my lips from stretching to a smile.

Some may think that Mirio's quirk wasn't that superb. But you are wrong. If you live in a Cultivation world and there is a treasure with a barrier, with Mirio's power, you can go through it. If there is a seal in another world and you need to sneak up, Mirio's quirk can do it. If you have to face an army and you are powerless against them, Mirio's quirk would work as a life assurance.

Gaara's sand didn't have the ultimate defense. Mirio did. His quirk was said to even allow light to pass through him. Although it made me doubtful why there is a reflection of him and why we could see him, it could have been him producing atoms to see him like fire. Also, his quirk had an offensive potential. At some point, he could hit you while you couldn't even hit him.

"Snap out of it," I said, clenching my fist. Now that I got what I needed, there was nothing for me in this test to look for.

I also didn't forget to get Midnight back from her little provocation.

Mirio stopped wincing and waved his wrist, smiling, "It got back to its place. Thank you." Just as he finished his thanks, he kicked toward me. But this time, I was prepared and took a step to the side, punching him quickly to the guts.

Mirio fell on his knees.

"It's common sense. Once you attack, you become visible," I said, mocking him.

"I guess you're right," Mirio said as he stood up, taking a deep breath. "I need more training."

I thought now that I gave him free advice, things would get more difficult. I didn't feel like winning, but I felt like learning from this fight.

I activated my Sharingan; my vision to the world had changed. Now, for my plan to work, I needed to be able to predict Mirio's movements and patterns.

Mirio ran at me, and he clenched his fist, punching at me. His body made a small shake, barely noticeable, but I did. I dodged and punched, Mirio becoming transparent again, his muscles relaxing a bit.

'He has a bad habit of tensing muscles and releasing them.' I thought as I got him, taking a step back. Mirio didn't give me space to breathe and followed with a punsh, and I took two steps backward. It kept like this until I was at the corner, and I stopped moving. Mirio glided on the ground toward me. I punched toward him, and he didn't materialize, and he went through me, reaching the edge of the ring. Mirio waved his hands, unable to stop as he flew out of the ring.

Remembering that I had to get Midnight back for leveraging her assets to motivate me to win, I jumped off the ring before Mirio could land down.

My action caused the audience to shut up. People looked at me with daze.

It felt like victory to me. I had gotten what I wanted, and all that was left was to make an excuse why I lost. I would never be sexually pushed to get something.

Mirio, who landed on the ground, asked, "why?"

"Obviously, I wouldn't win without the rules. As a hero who fights villains, I wouldn't expect my enemies to follow the rules," I replied.

"Woah. So that's the reason. That's very noble," Present Mic replied.

I turned my head to the commentary room, wondering how he heard me from that distance. Judging by the crowd's reaction, they also did.

Playing it cool, I walked back to the corner and watched the next match, which happened to be between Mirio and Nejire.

Mirio had a daze on his face as he looked at the ground. Lifting his hand, he said, "I give up."

"Huh," Nejire wondered. "You're not weak, right?"

"No. It's not. Kenshiro San chose to lose because he didn't want to rely on rules. As a hero, I can't just expect to win if others just let me win."

Nejire closed her fists, tears almost falling, "But that makes me feel like the villain here. I want to give up too."

"Sorry. Got there before you," Mirio said as he jumped off the ring.

I, who was watching everything, sighed.

People were taking my made excuse seriously.

Well, these guys were true heroes in heart, unlike me, who was just there for money.

Turning, I hit the shower room first. While I was alone, I opened my storage and looked at the hair samples I've collected. Each one of these would be worth a lot in the market, especially Mirio's hair that contained his DNA. A big devilish grin was drawn on my face.

'Who do you think the real winner is, motherfuckers?'
