12 12. Naughty

King was officially one year old and a big banquet was held a couple days ago in celebration of his birthday.

"King!" Elaine's excited voice came from the other end of the corridor and King quickly hid behind Aelsa with Chastiefol.

This was his mode of travel at all times. Chastiefol would always carry him around everywhere that he went.

He could always travel in comfort and style while enjoying a fast transportation. Plus it could fly.

He can also fly himself with the help of Chastiefol. He doesn't even need to keep it in his hand to keep floating above the ground and fly around freely.

"Don't hide". Elaine said indignantly and started to jump to catch King.

"Okay, let your sister on top as well". Aelsa said and smiled at the two of them.

Even rocks crack with trickling water in time and Aelsa is just an Elf.

She took King in for her own motives and benefits but after taking care of him for a year like a mother and seeing him growing up.

She couldn't really harden her heart. Especially with King's natural charm that he exudes passively.

His pheromones just make people feel comfortable and want to stay with him and trust him.

So Aelsa also started to regard King as her own son little by little.

And it didn't help that he is really cute and clumsy at times.

"Okay". King nodded obediently and lowered Chastiefol. So that Elaine could get on top easily.

"Yay!" Elaine cheered and quickly climbed up on Chastiefol and hugged King tightly with her small arms.

"How are you?" She asked while rubbing her cheeks with his.

"Ugh". King groaned in annoyance when he felt her rubbing her cheeks on his.

"Good Elaine". He pushed her head with his small arms and answered blankly.

"Hmph, you are so annoying". Elaine harrumphed and turned her head away from him but didn't get down from the cushion.

"Mom, where are you going?" Elaine asked after a while of pouting to herself.

"Your brother wants to start learning the language. So I am taking him there". Aelsa spoke calmly and walked gracefully in front of the two.

She took this chance to take a break from her work and tried to spend some time with her two children.

Nowadays, she is too busy with work and the maids take care of King and Elaine.

She finally had the chance and couldn't wait to spend some time with the two of them.

So today, they were going to the Palace library to let King read some books.

It was like a ingrained instinct in King to grow stronger and learn more things.

He was already able to speak proficiently and he could walk, run and jump. He was able to do some small things now.

Aelsa was also quite happy at his rapid growth and once again affirmed that he was Yggdrasil's champion.

They quickly arrived at the library and saw a massive building in front of them.

The building was at least a quarter of the Palalce's size and it was all full of books everywhere.

"The space inside the library has been expanded with magic to hold more books. The people of Alfheim believe in accumulating knowledge and practising magic.

Magic is best practised with the more knowledge you have. So this Library can be said to be the pinnacle of knowledge in the nine realms". Aelsa spoke with pride when she got inside the library and mentioned all the things.

"So cool". King and Elaine both exclaimed together when they heard this.

"But studying is boring. Who wants to stay here all day?" Elaine retorted but still kept looking around at the huge library with shining eyes.

"Elaine, you can become stronger by studying you know?" King waved around his arms and said excitedly.

"But we have allspeak anyway". Elaine said with a bit of dissatisfaction and looked at King.

"Learning is really good you know. We can know many things and grow stronger". King said excitedly and coaxed her smartly for a year old kid.

"I just want to play". Elaine laughed excitedly and jumped down from King's cushion before running off on her own.

King didn't pay her any mind and looked around at the myriad of books with shining eyes.

"Mom, what are we going to learn?" King asked and looked at Aelsa expectantly.

"We will learn to read and write Elvish first". Aelsa said and waved her hand to magically summon a book into her hand.

"Okay". King nodded obediently and floated over to the table with Chastiefol.

Aelsa smiled and opened the book to explain the things to him clearly.

Elaine had run off somewhere unknown into the library but Aelsa didn't worry because the children always had hidden guards protecting them.

She calmly explained everything to King with a smile and he learned it all like a sponge soaking water.

In just half a day, he mastered the whole Elvish which consisted of thousands of symbols and even more words.

Some relating to the mystics and magics of their race and some for ordinary conversation.

Aelsa was also surprised at this because even for a genius. It would take at least months to fully read and write Elvish freely and fluently like King.

"Good boy, my King is the best in the Nine Realms". Aelsa cheered him and praised him like anything after King achieved this.

Elaine, who was sleeping next to them with her down also woke up from this cheering.

"What happened?" She asked sleepily while rubbing her eyes cutely.

"Nothing dear, let's go back and sleep. You should be tired". Aelsa spoke softly and rubbed Elaine's head.

King looked at this with a bit of envy and pushed his head in front a little as well.

"Hehe". Aelsa giggled and also rubbed King's head with a soft smile.

"Yeah". Elaine nodded sleepily and climbed up on Chastiefol to doze off.

It was big enough for Elaine and King to sleep together and they always slept on it together.

Aelsa also put King on Chastiefol and started walking towards their room.

After putting both of them to sleep. She smiled while looking at them affectionately and also slept after a while.
