13 Broaden My Horizons

To say I got an earful would be an understatement. Abby decided to nag, harrass, berate, and all around "remind me" of my stupid man child ways. I even tried to hang my head and close my eyes to wait for it all to end. Unfortunately that failed me. . . for the subtitles were still being shown under my eyelids. Why you to this to me?! You were the chosen one!

No way of turning that off without being obvious. And I really didn't want to make her more upset at me. Would probably kill me.

The good news is it only took her a few hours to calm down and I could start handing the kids their groceries. Making sure to support the little ones was a sure fire way to calm her down. Mama bears like that.

When all was said and done, it was time to fill me in on what happened while I was "galavanting" around. Abby's words not mine. The kids decided they wanted their Mama Abby's last name. Heh, Danny asked if Klyntar was a foreigner nams. Yeah, something like that. One day I'm sure we'll tell them just how far foreign we two are.

After discussing their new identities, Abby found a school called Midtown High that she took time to enroll the three in. Turns out we have little geniuses on our hands. Maybe not at Peter's level but given time they could catch up. Or maybe I'm optimistic. Only time will tell.

They will be starting next Monday, so we have all weekend to enjoy to ourselves. Sounds like fun. Especially since Natasha and Jasmine want to drag us all over the city so we me and Abby can take in the sights. I think Abby was more excited about spending time with them, I was more up for the museum. I'm a man of historical culture after all! That and I just really love the exhibits. Haha.

When in the world, not to mention how, did we become like this? Some foppy little sit-com drama show. Kinda bothersome. And confusing. It's not bad, but still throwing me for a loop. . . Did Abby look into my mind? I swear if she went through all my t.v knowledge then I deny all the illicit content! Shit, she looked me in the eye. She knows.

Either way, the three day weekend went by quickly. We got to enjoy the sights, Abby ate a few creeps (got me a nice watch in the process too), I was able to enjoy the musuem exhibits, and turns out Danny is a mutant. Yep, you heard me. We have the x-factor! I'm expecting either of the old farts showing up some time eventually and ready to lay down the law.

It was midly amusing watching him be all flustered. One second we are eating some hot dogs and the next thing I see is a flambè version of the vienna sausages. In case you're confused, he burnt most of his away. Like ashes. The two girls went nuts trying to calm him down, but it took our dear mama bear to settle him down.

Now that was a fun time. Though I'm glad Danny boy doesn't think of himself as a freak or scared we would kick him out. We're not that kind of family. We bonded over food and misery! There was ice cream involved! For crying out loud, I shed manly tears with you!

But the day I was expecting did finally arrive. Thank the Celestials it wasn't Magneto. I'd have let Abby eat him before his first word. Xavier can at least have a few sentences in before I debate the idea. And yes, I hate psychics. Their abilites are bull crap.

Though two wonderful discoveries from all this was found. My Minor Gamer I received? I have no gamer's mind? WRONG! Turns out Abby IS my gamer's mind. She could protect my thoughts from any outside interference. Now that's just badass. And second, can't believe it happened, but Abby got Ororo to go out on a date. Oh sorry, a "conversation" between two like minded women. Yeah, play that card. Anyways, flashback time!

Hearing a knock at the door, I look to Abby and she nods to me. Yep, our guests have finally arrived. Good thing we don't have stairs to reach the door, I'd have felt a little bad (not to mention rude of me) for not making the place wheelchair accessible. We had the money after all.

Opening the door I am met with the famous Professor Xavier and the ever illustrious (and damn hot) Ororo "Storm" Munroe.

Greeting them with a smile, I respond, "hello, how might I help you two?"

Xavier: "Pleasure to meet you, may I ask if you're the guardian to a Danny Klyntar?"

Abby: "Yes, we are, how may I help you. ." she pointedly waited for a name. I think he got the hint.

Xavier: "Yes, I am Professor Charles Xavier, and these are my partners Ororo Munroe and Logan. We are here to talk to you about Danny joining my school for the extraordinarily gifted."

Oh hey Wolverine. Didn't see you back there, heh heh heh. That was a short joke.

Me: "Well you must be really dead set on inviting him if you came to see us in person rather than calling. Come on in then. Anyone want a drink? No alcohol I'm afraid, bit of a weak drinker."

"Tea if you have any" "Just a water for me" "I'm fine", Xavier, Ororo, and Logan said in order. More like gruffed out by Logan. Sorry buddy, but I'm not sharing my spiced rum. That stays specifically in my inventory.

When I return to hand everyone their drinks, water for Abby, she loves how clean it can be on this planet. Good ol Earth science and engineering! And whatever else they do.

Xavier started off the conversation, "so I must ask, have either of you two noticed something different with Danny. Something that might bother you?"

I snorted at this. Abby disapproves. Aw come on hon. You know that was a stupid question.

Abby: "Yes we have noticed a few things. But nothing that bothers us. We have no qualms with him. . batting for the same team, I believe is the phrase. And he is quite intelligent but I don't see why that would bring you all the way here for him."

Xavier: "I see," he chuckles lightly, " no not that at all. I mean his extraordinary ability that may have flashed out around you in the past few days."

Me: "If you mean his ability to control flames, then no. It doesn't bother us. In fact, he gets to take over grill duty!"

I chuckled at their shocked faces.

Ororo: "You mean you don't shun him because of his ability?"

Abby: "Now darling, why would we do that? He's a child me and my partner found suffering in the streets. We're not going to abandon our new family over something as simple as that."

Xavier and Ororo's shining eyes and Logan's manly grunt was a sign of approval I would wager. I grunted back and he nodded to me. It was a very bonding scene between us manly men.

Unfortunately for them, we were not letting him leave without his opinion. I suggested they return tomorrow after we had a talk with him first. I sure as hell am not springing this on my youngest member of the family without a night for him to think it over. I'd rather he stay, but it's his choice after all.

Abby decided to ask Ororo if she wanted to join her for a more extended talk. She looked to The Prof and he acquiesced to her saying that he had Logan to help him if needed. He wished them well and they all left me behind.

It was my responsibility to break it to the three. Tasha and Jaz, weird (when i did start calling them that?), were against the idea of him leaving. Heck, he was ready to reject the idea but I asked them to think it over. I ordered them some pizza to eat, relax a little, and even asked how their first day went

They met with Peter and the rest of the comic cast. They hate Flash already, heh good girls, and Harry is a dumbass. But they liked MJ snd her bestie, Liz. They became good friends after a rather embarassing event, for MJ at least. Tasha was being friendly and chatting up a storm about some Professors theory on regenerative limbs when MJ came up to stake her claim on Petey.

I guffawed when the girls told me how MJ was shocked when Jaz came over to kiss her gf in between the class exchanging. She apologized later to them. Good on her. Apparently this world's version of her isn't a complete you-know-what.

Danny was his usual self, reserved and only interjecting to say something funny, but I let it pass on account of what I dropped in his lap.

When it started to get late I wished them good night. It was nice they all hugged me. It was the best part of my day.

When I left to walk right next door into my home, I could feel a change.

Well that's peculiar. . It feels warmer than normal and. . oh my goddess.

Abby was up the stairs in a sheer see-through negligee. She smiled when I stumbled up the stairs, beckoning me to her.

Abby: " Mmm, I got you a gift darling. For being such a good boy today in dealing with those rotten men."

Me: "Well this is definently one heck of a gift. I'm pleasantly surprised. And besides, I think you had it handled by yourself."

Abby: "Well you couldn't tell, but that bald asshole kept trying to probe our minds most of thr conversation. I was nearly ready to rip his head off until your joke."

Me: "Well i was serious, he'd be excellent for working at the grill."

Smiling at me, she leans forward to whisper, "and that's why you get a gift tonight."

Pulling me slowly to our room, she has me up to the door before opening it. Pushing me in I turn around. . . to see a blind folded and tied up Ororo waiting for us on the bed.

With me being shocked at this,

Abby leans in, "I think it's time to broaden your horizons, love." Nibbling at my ear and running her hands all over me, I realised one thing.

This was going to be a long night.
