3 Frist Day

1934 September 8th in front of an overcrowded elementary school the prohibition just ended and now were in the middle of great depression so the school was full of hungry kids that have a hard life right now. Adam's family weren't hit that hard as Adam was able to warn his father about and save their savings and letting their family live almost normally as James wasn't getting as much work. As Adams first day of he stood out in his class as he's as tall at a nine year old standing 4ft 5In.

Sitting cross-legged on the floor amidst the cacophony, Adam's mind buzzed with frustration. "Here I am, sitting on the floor wasting my time with these loud, annoying kids, and the teacher can't even control them," he muttered under his breath. His gaze shifted to the door thinking he can leave and go to the library.

A decision took root within him, growing with every passing second. "Screw this, I'm going to the library to read and learn," he resolved, his determination lending him a newfound purpose.

Pushing open the heavy library doors, Adam entered a haven of relative peace. The crowded hallways now seemed distant as he enters the library, though not entirely vacant, offered a respite from the chaos outside.

Yet, even this wasn't without its troubles. In a dimly lit corner, his attention was drawn to a distressing scene. A girl with a tear-streaked face framed by a curtain of disheveled hair, was being surrounded by three boys. Their taunts and jeers mingled with her sobs.

Adam's empathy ignited like a flame, and he strode purposefully toward the group. His voice cut through the tension like a blade. "Wow, three boys picking on one girl? You all must feel real tough," he challenged, his tone laced with a mixture of anger and disdain.

One of the bullies, the ringleader with a defiant sneer, shot back, "Who cares, you bastard? This is our area, and she's in our way."

"Yeah, so get out of here, or we'll beat you," added another, his words dripping with false bravado.

Unfazed by their threats, Adam met their gaze with unyielding resolve. "You're the ones who should leave. Nobody deserves to be treated like this, and it's my area now."

"What! Who the hell do you think you are!"

"Someone with a stronger fist." Adam tells them and leans forward and throws out a punch careful not to hurt them to bad.

Adams fist hit the ringleader in the stomach making the kid bend over and hold it. seeing this the other two try to hit back with one of them missing and the other hitting Adam in the forearm doing nothing. Adam then grasp the two throws them onto the leader and watches as they all fall down.

"Want any more if not then piss off."

Scared of him now the two pick their leader of the ground and rush out of the library under the eyes of everyone their. With them gone Adam goes to the girl and introduces himself.

"Hi I'm Adam what your name." Adam asked her looking at her as she looks down nerves.

In the smallest voice She says "My names Emily, thank you for helping me."

"Nice to meet you Emily, I'm new here can you show me around here I'd like to find some books to read." As soon as he finishes Emily looks up at him with a small smile and get up graping his hand to show him around.

"Ya this area has the newest book." She tells him happy to show him around.

At the end of the day Adam learned she was a fifth grader and she use to live on Manhattan's financial area but since the start of the great depuration her family had to move to Brooklyn and so she had no friends. Today was her first day here and since she likes to read she went to the library and sat down only for those three bullies showed up to mess with her until he came in and stooped them.

Leaving the school Adam made his way home and talked to his parent about skipping a few grades. When they asked why Adam told them he made a friend and wanted to be in the same class as her. Lucia thought in was romantic and said yes but James was hesitant but thinking how smart his son was said yes and went to the school to talk to them and the next day after taking a few test showing he know everything was now in the same class as Emily. Even though Adam knows his Father paid two hundred dollars to get them off their asses and get everything ready. But in the same class as Emily, Adams day's studying in school was made a lot more bearable for the next few years.
