" Am really sorry dear, it's been Eight years since your mother died. Trust me, Stella is a good woman for me, I love her and she's going to make a great step mother.

" you know we don't get along Dad! she exclaimed then moved towards the window. Mr Luke Followed, He pecks Maya's rose cheeks before he spoke.

" Sweetheart, you are 21, I expect you to behave exactly like your age. Give Stella a chance, you always shut people out, it's time you loosen up a little bit. You know I love you Maya, you are my everything princess. Shall we? he crooked an arm with a smile. Maya placed her hand on the crook of his arm. From There, they strolled down to the garden, which was well decorated. Maya's dress was adored, as the daughter of the most influential businessman, she ought to look the best. Her father was getting married to Stella, even though She and Maya never got along ever since she was introduced to her as the woman her father wanted marry. People clapped their hands, when Mr Luke and his daughter came out. The priest stood, Maya left the alter when Stella walked close.

" I have to live with it, Maya responded then took a glass of wine brought to her. She paid no attention to what was going on at the altar. When they were pronounced as husband and wife, Maya left the garden, Her bodyguard Followed. She halted her step, then turned to him.

" Am going to the restroom Josh! she growned. He nodded, then went back. Maya walked into the bathroom. She noticed something strange, written on the mirror. It was a threat notice, She quickly left the bathroom back to the event. Maya suspected something was wrong. She remained restless throughout. Celine, her best friend noticed the sudden change in her behavior, she walked to her, then taps her bare shoulder as she wore a long dress, that revealed her beautiful back. Maya flinched, quickly she turns her head towards Celine, she breathed after seeing Celine.

" What's going on Maya? You look like you have seen a ghost.

" It's.. it's.. nothing, she stuttered. Then She looked away from her.

" Come let's dance, cheer up cupcake, she pulled Maya and brought her near the pull where most guest sat.

" You dance Celine, I really don't feel like it.

" you just had too much to drink maybe.

" yea maybe, she said then looks around like she was searching for something. There was tight security, the guards were everywhere keeping watch. Suddenly, there was a gun shot, people Screamed and hid under their tables. Josh grabbed Maya's hand and brought her inside the mansion quickly.

" what's going on! I demand to know! she yelled.

" You don't have to know! don't be stubborn am only doing my job.

" What about the guest! are you mad!

" they are safe Maya! Josh left Maya in her room upstairs then locks the door. Maya banged on the door in anger before she threw the vessel on the table.

People scattered, some managed to leave the event with the help of the security guards. No one knew where the gun shot came from or who shot it. Mr Luke And his wife Stella hid at the back of their cars as well as the priest.

" All clear boss! one of the Guards announced. Mr Luke came out of hiding, He let the priest go.

" What was that! how did they find out about the wedding! one of you must have betrayed me! he hissed.

" No boss, George's group must be behind this attacked!

" oh Goodness! what does he want from us! Stella exclaimed as she wipes down the sweat off her face.

" I want you to make sure you kill George and his Men tonight! Mr Luke commanded.

" but boss, we need to plan this attack!

" just do it! Where is Maya! he asked Josh.

" She's safe boss, he replied. The police arrived, Mr Luke was surprised to see the policeman. Who reported the attack, he said almost in a whisper.

" Mr Luke, what happened? asked one of the police officers.

" Chief! I really don't know, someone fired a gun shot, please find that person!

" Did anyone see the person or noticed something strange before this happened?

" No one sir, Josh replied.

" We need to investigate this Mr Luke, it's good no one got hurt.

" officers please do your Job, you are free to ask anyone about this, he said then shook hands with the chief. He turned to Stella, both smiled.
