5 A supermodel

"You do realize that this party is for you, right?" Wang Jinhai asked, eyeing Yun wearily. Yun had been sitting on the same spot he had been occupying since they entered the club two hours ago.

"Isn't that the reason I'm still here by this time?" Yun asked with a bored expression on his face. The lights and loud music were seriously messing with his head. He wondered why people liked coming here often.

"Please wipe away that bored look from your face" Jinhai pleaded. "You won't look so bored if you didn't chase away all the ladies that showed little interest in you" He whined.

"If you're just going to sit there and whine then we should leave now?" Yun said standing up.

"I'm not letting you do that. At least talk to someone, drink, dance. Just get out of that position" He said in frustration.

"Okay, Okay! What a nag! I'll just sit by the bar" Yun said moving towards the bar. The music was just too loud for his liking and the ladies were just too forward. Most of the ladies who had approached him had recognized him as the newly appointed Vice president of Wang Motors, and after congratulating him, they immediately turned flirty with him. Those attitudes disgusted him to the bones. 'Women.. they are so predictable.' He thought.

"Guess who just stepped inside the club" Jinhai said excitedly with his gaze on the door.

"Who?" Yun asked disinterestedly.

"The beautiful lady who was accused of theft at the restaurant the other day. Remember? The one that walked out with a smile on her face."

That got Yun's attention. He turned to look at her and noticed a lot of eyes on her also. He was meeting her in too many places these days, was it coincidence or was she following him? He could not help but wonder.

She wore a black sleeveless short gown with a half of her thigh on display, her hair was let loose and swayed about with every step she took, and on her feet, she wore a pair of red heels, making Yun wonder why someone as tall as her wore heels.

"Damn! She looks like a supermodel!" Jinhai exclaimed with his eyes still fixed on her.

Yun spotted her boyfriend beside her, he looks quite muscular though, Yun thought.

"Oh, she's with the guy from before" Jinhai said in a disappointed voice.

"Why? Do you like her?" Yun turned to ask while quirking a brow.

"I don't know. She looks pretty interesting to me. I was hoping you'd have a chat with her. I think she's probably your type. Too bad she's taken." Jinhai said with a wink before he walked away from Yun.

Yun sat by the bar sipping a glass of martini as his gaze went back to the tall beauty. He noticed there was nothing intimate about her and the big guy beside her, most boyfriends would have their hands all over their girlfriend in a club but this one seemed to be keeping a reasonable distance.

He watched her as she got on the dancefloor and started dancing. She wasn't an extraordinary dancer but she was quite good, he observed.

He was no longer as bored as he had been initially. He kept sipping from his glass as he watched her. He lifted his glass to his lips again and when nothing entered his mouth he realized his glass was empty.

He turned to ask the barman to refill his glass and when he raised his head again, she was no longer at the dance floor.

"Hello! I noticed you've been watching me for over an hour now" She greeted breathlessly from beside him.

One glance at her now and he could tell she was drunk. He simply shrugged without saying a word. Watching her dance and wanting to talk with her were two different things.

"Do you want to dance with me?" She asked with a smile while leaning closer to him. Very close!

He turned to look at her and noticed she was all sweaty. Some strands of her loose hair stuck to her face but she didn't seem to mind it. She just kept smiling brightly at him and he wondered why her boyfriend was so careless as to allow her wander about drunk.

But he didn't wonder for long because he noticed the big man heading their way. "No thanks." He said with a deep voice with his gaze fixed on the big man approaching them.

"Time up, Lijuan. We are leaving now" Jackie said while holding her arm.

"C'mon Jackie! It's three hours already?" She asked giving him a sloppy kiss on his cheeks.

"Yes. We should leave now" Jackie said with an embarrassed smile.

"Uhm, it was nice meeting you Mister. My bodyguard says it is time to go. Goodnight Mister." She said with a drunken laugh as she left with Jackie.

Bodyguard? Yun thought as he looked at their retreating figures.

"Why did you approach him? Didn't you say he saw you steal that ring the other time?" Jackie asked under his breath as they stepped outside.

"He must have forgotten my face. don't make a fuss over nothing" Lijuan said.

"I don't think he forgot your face. He doesn't look that stupid to me. And where did you get this pen from?" Jackie asked in surprise when she brought out a fancy pen and dropped it into her backpack.

"Please don't tell me you stole from him" Jackie asked in frustration.

"Then I didn't. I hope you feel better?" She asked with a drunken smile as he drove off.

Even though they had both bumped into each other three times, she was certain that the chances of them meeting again was very slim. And even if they did, what was so special about a pen?

**********

"I saw you talking to her... and you didn't look so bored when you were watching her dance" Jinhai said with a knowing smile.

"Can we leave now?" Yun asked, ignoring his question.

"Sure, after you pay the bills" Jinhai said with a cheerful smile.

"Bills? I thought you threw the party for me? Nevermind." Yun said as he dipped his hand into his inner coat pocket to take out his card. He frowned when he noticed he hadn't felt his pen. He handed over his card to Jinhai and checked his pockets carefully. There was no way he could have dropped or misplaced it.

He paused for a bit when he remembered how the pretty lady just now leaned closer to him.

"That thief" He muttered when he realized she had stolen his pen.
