Who am I???

Still fazed by her dream, Carly reluctantly crawled out of bed. She checked the alarm clock that was beside her bed, it was 5:03 am.

"Damn! I'm late!" Carly exclaimed as she shoot her eyes open in a flash. She jumped out of bed and scurried like a frightened rabbit to the kitchen to make breakfast before her mother and siblings would be out of bed.

While cooking, she started doing the dishes too. She also had to clean the entire house before her mother was going to be up. She had a whole lot of chores to do and she must be done before anyone wakes up. That was the only way to avoid hell on earth every morning.

Carly was from a humble family of eight, her parents and four siblings with one of her younger cousins that was brought to live with them.

She's very intelligent, brilliant. She's extremely beautiful but smart too. Loved by everyone both at school and the little community where she lived. Carly lacked a bit of parental love. Yes, she was loved by her father, that she knew, but he never really showed it. However she lacked love from her mother. She always wondered why her mother kinda despised her.

The Day was still dark and silent and only the sounds of nature and the sounds of plates clinging could be heard. Carly did the dishes alone as she also simultaneously cooked breakfast. Carly felt so alone at that point she couldn't help but wonder. "What exactly went wrong? Is there anything wrong with me or am I just different from my siblings? Is it because of my infirmity?" the questions she always asked herself whenever she was alone came into her mind again.

Carly's infirmity was an issue of great concern for her parents. She's been suffering from it since she was age thirteen. This infirmity has always got her soaked in tears every midnight. Why her? why not someone else?

No one knew Carly had a problem she was dealing with in terms of her health, not even her best friend, Alicia. Carly could be that secretive, besides she was scared of ever losing her best friend if the issue of her infirmity ever managed to leak. It was the same reason she swore never fall in love with anyone. Her mother always reminded her "No one would ever marry someone with an infirmity like yours. Once he or his family discovers your secret, you'd be chased out like a stray dog." Carly had swore to get to her goals all by herself with no one by her side. So her heart grew into a heart of stone. She had no human feelings, though not wicked. She couldn't hate yet she couldn't love either. What a complicated human being she was? She doesn't even really know herself. Just who is she? Now, it'd seem strange nightmares are now another trouble to face.

"Wait! How was I still so strong and unfazed even when I was tortured and bloodied all over? Besides, who was that guy that was dragged into that horrible scene?" she asked herself, seeming confused and disturbed.

No one also knew anything about the problems she was having at home, not one bit! She was always very cheerful at school, but home was always another experience. She never looked forward to holidays like others, neither does she feel like going home after school is over, though that was impossible as she had nowhere to go to. A single day never went by without her wishing she had parents like Alicia's and even Eliza.

These thoughts roaming her mind, and tears rolling down her cheeks, she completed her chores in silence got dressed for school, ate her breakfast and went off to school.

On getting to the school's gate, an unpleasant scene welcomed her.
