Chapter 94: Unreadable text

After a couple of false promises and empty words, Hachiro swaggered out of the village with Hinata.

Ino Yamanaka silently walked over and pulled on the corner of her father, Inoichi's clothes.

She didn't hide her confusion and asked, "Dad, why does Hokage-sama want to beat Asuma-sensei?"

The other genin present from the Konoha 12, listened closely.

They thought they should unite against foreign shinobi like those from the Cloud village.

However, one of their idols, went and did the opposite, he went after the shinobi from the Leaf.

The Yamanaka clan patriarch gave a restrained smile as he rubbed her head and said,

"He just broke a rule. It's normal for the Hokage to reinforce the law."

He thought to himself, that children should be more innocent, they didn't need to understand the dark politics hiding in the background, at such a young age.

From a cold and rational perspective, what the Hokage did was right.

If Konoha was forced to go to war, then the consequences were far beyond their control.

The Hokage looked as if he aged another few years as he sent everyone back to the meeting room.

Everyone was silent.

Shikaku said, "...I believe Lord Hokage made the right call. We've prevented a large scale conflict and Asuma was forgiven."

Hiashi gave his input by sternly shouting, "All for Konoha!"

Huh, what familiar words.

The elder's felt as if he was mocking them.

The clan leaders looked at the Hyuga as if he was a rare breed and hoped that Hiruzen wouldn't try to take his anger out on them.

Fortunately, the old man was too puffed out and stressed to care about some snide comment.

Suddenly, Kurenai broke through into the room in a panic and reported with a horrified face.

"Hokage-sama, Asuma wounded the gatekeeper and ran away from the village!"

Hiruzen's desolate expression disappeared as he jumped out of his seat for the second time today.

The Inazuka clan leader muttered, "What's wrong with that brat. Next thing you know, he'll be trying to assassinate that Hachiro..."

Everyone in the room took a synchronised gulp as they recalled the horror of that demonic looking giant.

The picture of Asuma trying assassinate him, removed any and all pity they had for him earlier.

Hiruzen felt his heart running mad, as he was about to order the Anbu to chase after his son.

Kurenai answer gave him a breath of relief.

"Eh, he seemed to have left with luggage on his back."

If he was going for the kill, he wouldn't have brought luggage that would slow him down.

Then again... you never really know with Asuma...

The Hokage slumped back down in his seat and speculated with irritation,

"He's probably running off to the Daimyo."

In the past, the only location he had stayed for more than a month was the Land of Fire's capital city as one of the twelve ninja guardians, the direct subordinates of the Fire Daimyo.

It was the only place that he knew well enough, to live outside of Konoha.

Hiruzen put a hand over an eye and guessed that the public humiliation was to much for him... or more likely the betrayal he felt at his father's opposition.

Now, he felt bad.

Hiruzen waved his hand and subtly commanded,

"I think we've already shared we would know and how we will proceed with the situation. It's time to call an end to this meeting."

The clan leader's nodded before walking out the door.

After Kurenai exited the Hokage's building, Might Guy rushed over to her and asked, "How did it go? What does Lord Hokage recommend we do about Asuma?"

Kakashi was beside him flicking the pages of his little orange book.

Kurenai's answer caused Kakashi to lament.

"Hokage-sama, thinks that he went to the daimyo and that we should leave him alone, so he can calm down."

Kakashi mumbled

"I guess thats a good plan. He must be pretty upset."

Kurenai rolled her eyes and replied, "Yeah, he's pretty much a thirty year old, man-child."

Kakashi sighed and reminisced about the past.

"We're all almost thirty years old... and you still haven't gotten a boyfriend."

Kurenai tilted her head slightly and half closed her eyes. She looked at him deadpan.

Kakashi not knowing his limits, nonchalantly asked,

"So, do you like him?

Might Guy cluelessly inquired, "Who?"

Kurenai beamed at them before throwing her fist.

Hachiro and Hinata found the cave they were looking for behind a waterfall, around a hundred meters high.

After careful examination, they found the space-time gate leading to the moon.

...

...

The Otsutsuki's ancestral hall on the moon

Hinata had her byakugan activated as she flipped through some of the decaying books in the room.

She read it out to Hachiro.

"Thousands of years ago, Hamura Otsutsuki and his brother, Hagoromo Otsutsuki fight for several months before succeeding in sealing their mother, the rabbit goddess Kaguya. After that, Homura brought his descendants to the moon to guard and prevent the Gedo statue being used to revive his mother."

Hachiro couldn't understand a single word of the text used by the clan on the moon.

They seemed to have used a similar technique to the Uchiha to create a text only readable by their dojutsu.
