Her guide Jonin had accepted a mission to clean up the mansion of the Daimyo's wife.

But suddenly, yesterday she received an order from the Hokage himself to return to Konoha.

Although, he didn't state the specific reason, seeing she was being called by herself she was sure it was important.

Without a trace of doubt, she tried to return to Konoha.

Unfortunately or perhaps, luckily, the Daimyo's wife was displeased that she was leaving the rest of her team to clean it themselves.

It took a bit more explaining and the letter as evidence before she was allowed to return to Konoha.

When she got to the entrance, she found the dead bodies of the ninja meant to be guarding the gates and panicked.

She realised something had happened in the village, and by the looks of it, it was certainly not good news.

She rushed back to the Uchiha clan's compound and saw the Patriarch Fugaku leading the rest of the clan members in a desperate struggle against the Hokage and the Anbu.

She was only a young girl, 12 years old.

She had no idea what to do with the situation in front of her.

She tried to run out of the compound before spotting Itachi leaping from building to building in the direction of the shrine.

Izumi, in fear didn't think about what was happening deeply before following along in his direction.

She wanted to ask her childhood friend why the Hokage was suddenly turning against the Uchiha.

Of course, she was barely a chunin and couldn't keep up with a jonin like Itachi.

When she arrived at the shrine she could faintly hear the screams and cries of people calling for help.

She froze in fear and only recovered minutes later before Itachi walked out covered in blood.

She jumped into the bush beside her to hide and find out if the enemy was nearby.

But it was then she heard the conversations between Hachiro, White Zetsu and Itachi.

Faced with her questions, he lowered his head and didn't respond.

"This is interesting."

Hachiro thought this was a good opportunity, she had the potential to awaken the Mangekyo after this event.

He forced a smile and asked Itachi cheerfully,

Izumi shook her head in disbelief, she didn't want to believe what she was seeing.

However, her childhood friend, took one step. And then another. And slowly walked up to her. She could no longer deny it.

Izumi fell to the ground and looked up at him. The image of the blood-stained edge of the murder weapon burned into her retinas. Tears dripped from her eyes.

Despite the noticing the despair she felt at his betrayal, Itachi spat out his cursed line.

Hachiro couldn't help but wonder, I don't think he shed a single tear in my memory.
