58 Chapter 58: Bad people live forever

After a moment of hesitation, Genkai raised his hand and said,

"I think, I would like one."

Upon noticing, he was receiving the gazes of everyone in the room, he said in embarrassment.

"Well, I don't have a bloodline limit and have been envious of them for a while. I think I would have decent compatibility with the sharingan..."

Darui scratched his head lazily,

"Most of us present have a bloodline of some sort. The attraction it holds to us is limited, and not as strong as those without bloodlines."

A bloodline limit was like a mini cheat.

A mini cheat that could only be chanced upon through luck at birth.

For the majority of the ninja present holding a bloodline or tailed beast of some sort, the Sharingan would only weaken them by constantly sucking away their chakra.

The only thing it would prove to do is give them flashy eyes that glowed in the dark.

For Hachiro and the Raikage, it would bring so minimal improvement and be completely pointless.

Especially for Hachiro, he was attempting to step into the realm of Six paths.

Unless the dojutsu was on the same level as the Rinnegan or Tenseigan, he wasn't going to risk the negative effects that came with it.

But for the vast majority of ninja that were bound by the fate of mediocrity just because they weren't born related to an Otsutsuki, it was a life changing opportunity that could increase their strength and possible save them in conflict against their enemies.

Hachiro couldn't resist another yawn and stood up.

"Alright, whoever is going to Konoha, be careful to not reveal your identity. I'll skin you alive if we end up in a war because of some spooky, red eyes that belong to the bogeyman."

"Hachiro-sama, you're not going?"

They had hoped, he was be going too. Otherwise, they weren't confident they could swagger into Konoha and leave with the eyes of their most hated clan.

"There's nothing interesting in Konoha right now, I am..."

He stopped. He put his hand on his chin and pondered about something.

"No, scratch that. I'll go."

Confused expressions graced everyone present in the meeting room.

"Someone that wants to watch the world burn, will probably show up. I want to try killing him before he manages to set his big plan into motion."

It was obvious to those who watched the show, what he was talking about.

Madara's pseudo student, Obito Uchiha.

In the fight against Konan, he only lived because of Izanagi.

Izanagi required the sacrifice of a sharingan to work.

There was no better time to get spare sharingan for that reality rewriting Dojutsu technique than the night of the Uchiha massacre.

The death of Obito could help avoid plenty of unnecessary trouble.

The Fourth Raikage asked dryly.

"Ah, It's good that you want to go. So, do you have a more, specific plan in mind?"

Hachiro said absentmindedly,

"I will reply to the Hyuga clan first and tell them to act out a play. We'll get them to agree and set out a specific date. Hiashi can then leak the news to Hiruzen giving us a good opportunity to take advantage of."

"When they're busy slaughtering each other, we will sneak in and take some sharingan."

Tutai and Genkai applauded flatteringly.

A few days later.

Hiashi met with Hiruzen Sarutobi in the Hokage's office.

"Hokage-sama, the Uchiha have decided to launch a planned rebellion."

The first sentence that came out of the Hyuga patriarch after coming through the door, caused Hiruzen to choke on the smoke from his pipe.

"Cough! Cough!"

The old Hokage coughed several times and slapped his chest to try and regulate his breathing.

He said in disbelief,

"What did you just say?!"

He had expected the Uchiha to rebel, but not at this time.

Their strongest clan member has died, shouldn't they be feeling intimidated and postpone the plan entirely?

While, he was aware that Danzo had some responsibility in Shisui's death. He wasn't willing to to antagonise his old friend for a dead man.

Kotoamatsukami was certainly a valuable technique, but not as valuable as a true friend!

Hiruzen and Danzo had cultivated their feelings as aspiring, young men.

"How did you come to know about this, Hiashi?"

After calming down and suppressing his raging emotions, Hiruzen asked not knowing what to expect.

Hiashi replied with an emotionless expression.

"They invited me, or should I say, the Hyuga clan to join forces in the rebellion."

Hiruzen widened his eyes and stared at him for a good minute, before processing what he just heard.

He recovered from his stunned state and asked curiously,

"Then you replied with?.."

"I promised them."

Hiashi spoke as if he was talking about a trivial matter, the Hyuga and Uchiha, two of the strongest clan's ever rebelling in unison.

Even if Konoha survived, it would lose a layer of skin!

"I'm pretending."

Hiashi seemed to see it, fit to add some key information on the end.

Hiruzen used a medical jutsu to slow down his heart rate and smiled bitterly,

"I'm so old, don't give me a scare like that... when you get to my age you'll understand what I mean."

"Really, Lord Hokage? I heard that good people don't live for long but those who aren't live forever."

Hiashi smiled.

What the hell!?

Hiruzen wanted to yell, what's wrong with Hiashi today?!

Is this secretly some bastard from Kumo, under the effects of some super modified transformation jutsu?
