16 Chapter 16 - New Blood

Going inside the base, I took a look at the people Takashi and Kohta brought back. Among them were a few construction workers, a few police officers, three SWAT officers, and several friends and family members of people here. Running over to me Rei, Merna, and Kohta informed me that they believed two of the officers were dirty cops. Looking at the two of them, I saw titles like forgery, rape, assault, and murder among their titles.

'I haven't the time to watch them 24/7.', I thought, "I will take care of them. They are dirty cops, I remember seeing paperwork on my Dad's desk about them."

Pulling up documentation I had...taken from my father, I matched their faces to documents I had. My father investigated nearly everyone in our area to ensure that none of his enemies could get a foothold near us. His research came in handy here as I had more than enough evidence to justify executing them. Nodding to Saeko, she separated the men so we could talk. Stepping outside again, Saeko took a position right next to me.

"Something the matter?", Officer Touya asked.

"If this about what those people were saying, those claims were never substantiated.", Officer Udon stated.

"Oh you are guilty alright, I saw your records on my father's desk. You two have a longer rap sheet than most criminals I have met.", I told them showing my pistol, "We can make this quick, or you can draw it out for a few moments."

"Can't we negotiate?", Touya inquired, "The world's going to shit, and-"

Drawing my pistol I put a bullet through his head killing him instantly. As my pistol was silenced very little noise was heard, little more than the trigger pull. Before his comrade could draw his pistol, Saeko drew her sword and decapitated him in a single fluid motion.

"We don't negotiate with rapists, murders, and child molesters...", I said sheathing my gun, "I couldn't trust either of you no matter you did or said."

"Agreed, our group is better off without them.", Saeko agreed wiping the blood off the sword, "Could you maybe sharpen this for me? I was never as good as you or my father."

"Of course, I can take care of that.", I chuckled accepting the sword from her.

Tossing the bodies into the pile of thugs we had made in the sewer, the two of us returned inside. Telling the officers I had dispatched the two of them, they didn't seem that surprised given their history. Understanding that it had to be done, they took a seat near Rei who immediately asked them about her father.

"Have you seen my Dad?", she asked.

"You're Officer Miyamoto's daughter right?", a few of the men laughed, "He had a family photo on his desk at the precinct, thought you looked familiar."

"Well, have you seen my husband?", Kiriko inquired.

"Unfortunately we lost contact with HQ a while ago. We haven't been able to get anyone on the radio, and the officers that escaped the bridge are all trying to regroup. All of us here thought it was a waste of time as we are low on ammo, and by now it's clear we are no longer protecting civilians...", one of the female officers said, "Your father is either at HQ, or was attacked by one of the wandering hordes in Tokyo. We assumed that HQ was overrun by those things."

Nodding their heads, it appeared that Kiriko had come to the conclusion he was dead given where he headed. Seeing as how I couldn't locate him on the map, it meant he was almost certainly dead. In fact, HQ was completely covered in red dots so it was clear Umbrella had taken them out quickly to cause more chaos.

'Surprisingly the Emperor and his family are still alive.', I thought, 'Same can't be said for the Prime Minister, his place is completely overrun by the dead.'

"Rumor has it you are planning on going to Okinawa.", the female officer said to me.

"That's the plan, we are going that way till we find a boat to use to get there. Going across land with everyone here is too dangerous.", I stated.

"Agreed, judging by the people you have here...you don't have the fighting strength to protect them all. May I ask why a foreigner like you is so concerned about the people here?", she asked me.

"I have people I care about here.", I said wrapping my arm around Saeko and Saya, "I could easily get the few people here I care about away easily, but what good is that? The world coming apart, and it won't go back the way it came from. We are going to need lots of people to rebuild once this is all over. Everyone here has a part to play, and we all are working towards our survival."

"I see...that explains why Officer Merna was giving lessons to people.", she stated, "It is a good choice."

"It is a necessity, everyone here should be armed with some sort of weapon and know how to use it. Unless you are fond of having potential assailants rape you, it is imperative that you know how to defend yourself.", I remarked, "We have rules here as well, let me get you up to speed."

Giving them the few rules we had, all the new blood agreed to the rules. Getting their jobs assigned to them, I sat back and thought about my next move. I hadn't killed the amount of zombies I wanted today, but taking anyone out with me was dangerous. Right now I needed points which meant I needed to slaughter a lot of dead people. My plan was to slip out tonight, and hunt while everyone slept. My skills would allow me to get here in seconds if I needed to from nearly anywhere I would be hunting tonight. The only thing I needed to do was take out those bloody drones so they didn't get data on me.

"Oh Victor!", Shizuka giggled running over to me, "Do you have a minute?"

"Sure", I said getting up, "What's up Shizuka?"

"Hehe, how bold of you to call me by my first name in front of everyone.", she teased, "I wanted to talk to you about making an emergency run to the hospital in a couple of days."

"Something come up while I was out?", I questioned.

"I got word from my colleagues.", Mikoto said a little upset I left her behind for the looting, "They aren't going to hold out much longer. I know you were working on armoring a bus up...do you think we could go get them?"

"You realize you are asking to bring the people Umbrella are after here, right?", I reminded her.

"They are my family, and I know you ogled them. I got them to agree to leave the hospital as now most of the patients are undead too. Without power they couldn't keep some of them alive, and they turned after dying.", she replied with a grim look, "That means...we all may be infected, and dying will make us turn no matter what."

"Hmm...", I said pretending to be surprised, "Get them to bring as many staff members as they can. We will need to research the virus or disease that is causing this, and develop a cure or vaccine."

"Anything else?", Mikoto asked me.

"Have them grab as much medical equipment and medicine as they can. We will need as much as we can get, we won't have the facilities to make more once we are moving.", I told her.

Nodding her head she said she would let them know, and promptly ran off. Looking at Shizuka, she promised to give me a reward if I made sure Yuko came back alive.

"Also...", Shizuka said pushing her breasts up, "I know you need more manpower before moving. Could we maybe go to the airport to get my friend Rika? She was the one we got the tank thingy from, and lots of the guns too."

"I mean, won't they shoot at us onsite?", I questioned.

"Nah, I will come with you to make sure she doesn't shoot you.", Shizuka said before giving me a grin, "You know, she said she would sleep with a guy whose a better shot than her. If you can do that, I am sure you will have some fun."

"You sure know how to tease me.", I sighed.

"Hehe, it's fun to see you act flustered.", she giggled dropping the act.

"You know if you aren't careful I might consider your actions as an offer.", I remarked with a grin.

"I have heard plenty from the others, if you get Yuko here safely I don't mind being yours.", she whispered with a kiss.

Running off with a child like smile, she went to check on the injured children.

"Jeez, I can't believe you are chasing older women and not ones our age.", Saya huffed.

"All I will say is, I like mature women.", I chuckled, "Don't worry though, I love you too."

"You better!", Saya said nervously, "After...after today...you...you have to own up to what you did!"

"What did I do?", I snickered with a smile.

"You...you...you had se...sex with me!", she stuttered.

"You know I will treat you like my Queen.", I replied hugging her, "Besides, I already promised to take care of you till death do us part."

Sensing a stare, I turned to see Yuriko staring at me. Knowing full well she had heard what her daughter said, I figured she wanted to talk. Telling Saya I needed to speak with her mother, she realized she had been a bit too loud. Walking over to speak with her, she gave me a stern look.

"So you finally crossed that line.", Yuriko said, "I was expecting you to have made the move a long time ago."

"I did.", I replied with a nod, "I apologize for disappointing you."

"Took you long enough.", she laughed.

"That's what you wanted to say?", I sighed.

"My daughter has been waiting a while for you to make the move.", Yuriko stated.

"Haha, only for intercourse. We have done pretty much everything else.", I remarked, "Anyways, if you-"

"I overheard you and Miss Komuro are a thing now. Do you happen to like mature women too?", she inquired.

"Of course.", I chuckled, "Young women have their charms, but mature women know what they want and know how to please a man. I am sure you know what I mean."

"Flirting with a recently divorced woman, you are ballsy. What if I said no?", she inquired.

"Your choice, if you say no I will respect that and leave our relationship as it currently stands.", I said.

Staring a me for a moment, she said she would think about. Honestly I didn't think it would be easy to win her over, she was my mother's close friend after all. Leaving it at that, I prepared for my night run.

---Later That Evening---

After having some fun with Namiyo, I made sure everyone was asleep before suiting up. Since I didn't want to be identified by anyone, I dressed in one of the black samurai armors I got from the museum. A bit of adjusting was all that was required which was easy enough for me to handle. Wearing an Oni Mask and donning, I equipped two samurai swords that...I may have requisitioned from Saeko's father a year ago.

'Not like he noticed anything...the dude had a literal store room full of swords. Saeko and I should probably go get them.', I thought.

"Ahem.", someone said behind me.

Turning around to look, Yuriko and Kiriko stood in the door to the kitchen. Looking at them, I said I was going to do recon.

"Without telling anyone?", they questioned.

"All of you are sound asleep, and there is no zombies nearby.", I stated, "We have been quiet enough that the zombies have all but ignored this area for now. I need to scout around, and start working on the bus."

"So you intend to go even if we say your an idiot?", they inquired.

"Pretty much, it needs to get done or we aren't going to get away. We need ammo, guns, medical supplies, transport, and many other things. I can get to places they can't because I know what I am doing.", I remarked, "I spent most of my life in the military, they haven't. If someone is going to take the risk, it's going to be me."

"I can respect a man for sticking to his guns, but don't you become like my ex husband.", Yuriko told me, "Saya is more emotional than I am, don't needlessly worry her. Remember, you are her partner and her opinion matters."

"I know, and I know she'd tell me I was an idiot and shouldn't do it.", I smirked.

"At least you know.", she giggled.

"We will handle things here while you are out. When do you think you will be back?", Kiriko asked.

"Probably around breakfast. I should have the bus done, and some goodies by then.", I replied.

Calling me an idiot before leaving the room, I chuckled to myself. The two of knew it was a stupid move, but the rewards outweighed the risk. As the Ambassador's son I would would know where military assets were and potentially could get them here.

Leaving the base through the roof access, I jumped down and ran from the view of the cameras. Once I was clear, I stopped acting and got serious. Leaping over a small building, I continued jumping around till I found a large group of undead.

Pulling out a bow, I took out the drones before they could spot me. Stowing the bow again I drew my swords, and jumped down without making a sound. Using several skills in unison, I executed the horde in less than a minute. Adding points into my stats, I wanted to ensure I didn't become too exhausted after using Spartan Rage. I wasn't at God Levels yet so there was a chance the skill would leave me exhausted after using it.

"That is a wise call.", Midna said appearing next to me, "You certainly killed these two thousand zombies easily."

"Yeah, it's nice not needing to hold back.", I said wiping the blood from the sword.

Having pulled the corpses into my inventory, I took valuables and then then disposed of the corpses in the sea. Continuing my looting for a while, I eventually ended up in Tokyo and saw for myself how bad it was. Looking at the map didn't do justice to the true scene here. All I could see was streets full of undead and the number of mutants was very high. I could see Hunters, Boomers, Chargers, Tanks, and more down below wandering aimlessly around.

"How much do I get for mutants?", I asked for clarification.

"Weaker ones are 10 and the stronger ones are 20.", Midna replied, "You'll have lots of extra points just wiping out zombies on a single street."

Agreeing with that, I took out the drones and jumped down into the fray. Slashing several heads off zombies as I landed, I quickly started massacring the undead leaving nothing but blood splatters. Continuing onwards I ran around to CIA hideouts to collect weapons. I would add items from my own stockpile to fill it out, but ammo was still going to be an issue.

"With their massive budget all they could fucking afford was a few cases of ammo...", I muttered storing the items, "The agents in this world also going after hookers too with taxpayer money?"

"What do you think?", she laughed.

Knowing that answer I sighed, and kept moving. Going from group to group, my killing spree barely made a dent in the number of zombies here. All it did was open up avenues for people to flee the capital after giving their thanks to me.

Just as I was about to leave, I saw a familiar child and her parents fleeing from a Smoker and Spitter. Flicking two blades at them, the undead died instantly sparing the family of three.

"Thanks Mister Oni sir!", Alice giggled with a happy smile.

"You three really shouldn't be on the streets right now.", I said masking my voice with a skill, "It's dangerous to go alone though, allow me to take you to a safe place I found."

Taking them back with me, I brought close to the base before parting with them. Saying that they needed to just knock on the door for help, they thanked me and left. Making sure they got let in, I made sure the last shift crew checked them out before letting them in.

'Alright, time to clean up the area and get back with the bus.', I thought with a smirk, 'Tomorrow is the day I get to tangle with a Tyrant.'
