10 Chapter 10 - Elementary

"Please help us!!", Taka cried, "They are going to rape us!!"

"We will do anything, please help us!", Nao shouted at the building hoping the people inside were in.

"Haha, you got nowhere to run little ladies!!", the men behind them shouted.

"I am going to enjoy toying with you Milfs!", their leaders laughed.

Tripping over her feet, Taka fell to the ground and yelped in pain. Seeing her student fall, Nao stopped to give her a hand. Helping her up the men were right on top of them, and the two held each other tightly. Just as two of the men went to jump on them, the women heard two gunshots ring out in quick succession. Hearing two bodies fall to the ground, they looked to see the men with bullet holes in their heads.

"Miss Nao!! Miss Kendo!! Students!! Hurry up!!", Shizuka shouted from behind my back.

"Move it or lose it ladies!", I added.

Picking themselves up, the group ran for the door while I shot the attackers with my rifle. Backing me up Kohta and Merna also laid down cover fire. While the attackers had guns, none of them could compete with me let alone Kohta and Merna. Falling back for cover, I lobbed a grenade at them and it rolled right next to them. It took a moment for them to realize what it was, but by then it was too late. Exploding in close proximity to them most of the men were killed by the grenade. Those lucky enough to survive the blast took off and vanished behind some buildings.

"Miss Shizuka!!", Nao and Kendo cried holding onto her, "You are alive!!"

"Of course!", Shizuka giggled, "I am happy I wasn't the only staff member that survived."

"Ahem, are you forgetting someone?", Kyoko sighed.

"Oppies, I forgot that Kyoko is here too.", Shizuka said with smile.

"I swear, you may be smart with medicine but you are a ditz in every other way.", Saya complained.

"Well...I am not the best with names or faces.", Shizuka stated.

"We know.", Nao and Kendo laughed as they cried with relief, "Can we talk to your leader? We want to seek refuge here."

"I am sure Victor won't mind.", Saya said.

"Victor?", Nao and Kendo inquired.

"I am the leader of this ragtag group.", I chuckled, "Come on inside, we were just having dinner."

"Thank you!", the women said heading inside.

Once everyone was inside I turned in the direction the men had run. Pulling out two knives, I tracked their movements on my mini map and crunched the numbers really quick. Flinging the blades into the sky, a few moments later the men's icons vanished from the map and points were added to my account.

'Eat shit you fucking bastards.', I thought walking inside.

Getting them something to eat, the women told us that the school was a madhouse now. After we had left survivors from other sport's clubs banded together to suppress the dead. Telling us that they had imposed martial law at the school, they had seized several surviving staff members and the surviving student body. Forcing them to barricade the school, the group was preparing to hunker down for the long haul.

"The leadership is forcing the women to service them on command or they will toss them out. As for the boys they are treating them like slave labor, and working them to exhaustion.", Nao cried, "We managed to escape capture, twenty of us did. Since a few hours after this started we have been running and running trying to find shelter!! No one would take us in since they thought we might have been bitten. When a few of the boys tried to show them we weren't bitten, they impaled them with makeshift spears."

"We ran into that last group, and I...I made the mistake of thinking they might help us.", Taka sobbed, "Onii-chan and the last few boys bought us time to run away when they tried to grab us. It's my fault he died!! They killed him, and he might be the only family I had left!!"

Taka was only a freshmen at the High School, and her brother was on the wrestling team. I befriended him after a few meetings as he had a crush on Aimi before she shot him down. He was a good guy, just didn't have the skill sets I wanted for my team. His fixation with sheltering and pampering his little sister was borderline sis-con territory, but he never crossed the line with her. I knew he was dating someone from the Karaoke Club so I knew he didn't have romantic feelings for his sister...that was the only reason I didn't stop talking to him.

"It will be okay Taka.", Saya said pitying her loss.

"No it's not, Onii-chan died protecting me all because I didn't listen to him.", she cried, "He said they were bad men, but I didn't think they were. Why did they want to hurt us!? What did we do to upset them!?"

"Taka, this world isn't the same one you knew from a few days ago. Right now the government has no control of things, and it's everyone for themselves. Those men probably saw all of you as easy prey to sate their boredom.", I told her, "You couldn't have known they were bad people, but moving forward you have to assume that everyone out there may hurt you. Always keep your eyes and ears open, nowhere is one hundred percent safe right now."

Nodding her head, it would be a while before she was able to move past her brother's death. There was a chance they didn't kill him, but that chance was slim. Right now doing a rescue operation was out of the question, without any information on numbers, strength, and mental state there was no way I was risking my group on this. Taking them in was already a risk, but no one that saw us survived which was all that mattered. Tomorrow we would dump the bodies away from us so no one could trace their death to us.

Since their group was exhausted they took a bath and then passed out huddled together like scared children. I didn't blame them for being a bit wary of us, but I knew they would quickly get over it. Shizuka had a way of worming her way into peoples hearts in such a way that they would feel at home here.

As dusk came I powered on the fence around the perimeter, and then proceeded to turn off lights we didn't need around the building. Leaving key equipment on, I settled in for my shift in the security room. Draped across my chest Saya was passed out like a light while Saeko, Rei, and Kyoko sat next to me watching the monitor. All the action today had drawn in quite the crowd tonight. Zombies were wandering around out there in large numbers, much larger than the previous nights. It appeared that Umbrella Corp really would do whatever it took to get Sayo back, and they were turning up the heat.

Among the zombies I spotted a few mutants from the Left 4 Dead series like the Boomer and Hunter prowling around the area. Fortunately the fence was doing it's job, and frying them on contact.

"It was a good call to make the fence.", Saeko admitted, "We would have a large group outside the building in the morning without it."

"I am interested in those fat boys, it appears their fluids attract them. If we make a few containers to hold the fluid, we can make weapons out of it.", I said.

"Another plan for the future.", Rei stated holding my arm, "You think my father is alright? If it's bad here I can't imagine how bad it is at HQ."

"Your father is strong guy, and a very skilled fighter. I am sure he and his group are holding out just fine.", I told her.

Comforted by my words, she nodded her head and focused on the monitor.

"Things are getting worse, aren't they?", Saeko asked.

"Yeah, unfortunately it's getting very bad.", I answered, "We either beef up our defense, or focus on finding families and getting out of here."

"What are you thinking?", Kyoko inquired.

"We use this base to reach out to where the parents should be. We make contact, and try to get them to come with us.", I told her, "That's the best option. While I lead the team out, I will leave Merna and Kohta in charge here too harden defenses."

"Makes sense, they are the only other people that can shoot firearms.", Rei agreed.

"I will be on the lookout for training equipment to help teach you to shoot.", I stated, "It is an important skill that could save your life. Spears, swords, and arrows are going to be almost useless against armored Umbrella groups, they are really only useful against those undead."

Watching the dead stumble by our base for the next two hours, I swapped places with the next group and went to sleep surrounded by my lovers.

---Next Day---

Waking up at first light, I slipped away from my lovers to see what the situation was outside. Peering into the security room, I found Merna and Kohta talking while surveying the cameras. These two were hitting it off quite well, and I was happy for Kohta. Having them work together was paying off big for him.

'Good job buddy, I am happy you found someone. There will be many more, I assure you.', I thought.

Retracing my steps I came back to the room a second time and announced my presence as I got close. Giving them a heads up this time, they acted like they were seriously watching the monitor when I arrived.

"How is it looking?", I asked.

"The number has gone down.", Merna stated.

"Great, as a heads up I am having you two watch the base today. I am taking a team to strike out at places where families may be.", I told them, "Work on hardening our defenses, and reinforcing our walls. We may come back with a decent number of survivors today. A supply run may be needed."

"Oh, where are you going?", Kohta inquired.

"The Elementary School where Takashi's mother works. My hunch is they didn't flee, leading a group of scared children across the city isn't the wisest option. Those kids would likely scream and break down into tears, and attract the monsters to them.", I stated, "The children are most likely petrified, and too afraid to leave the school as well."

"Understood!", Kohta said, "We will be ready for them!"

"I will make sure we have an area cleaned up for them.", Merna promised.

Thanking them, I woke everyone up for the day. Getting a meal down, I took Shizuka, Rei, Pucca, Saya, and Kyoko with me to the elementary. I tried to get Takashi to come, but the prick refused to sit in the same vehicle with me and Rei for something like this. Takashi claimed I was doing this to show off, and he wouldn't have any part of it.

"Jeez he is acting like a whiny bitch!", Saya complained getting in the bus, "What did we ever see in him? Victor is checking up on his mother, and this is how he acts."

"I know, it's really fucking stupid.", Rei huffed, "I mean, you're going out of your way to check on our parents and he is being a dick about it. It's like he doesn't give a shit about her!"

"I think he is just worried, and doesn't want the possibility of having to kill his mother if she turned.", Kyoko stated, "No one wants to see that."

"There is still a chance she is still alive though.", Pucca retorted, "Either way he is starting to wear my nerves thin. All he did yesterday while putting up barriers was bitch about having to do all this. He kept saying we should go to the Takagi Mansion for shelter."

"That is probably the worst place to go. The walls are decorative, not strong enough to hold against the weight of a group of those monsters. They are easily encircled there, with no alternative route out that is safe enough to flee through. Lastly, no offense to Saya's father but he is too soft on civilians. Our rule is those who don't work don't eat, but her father is likely just to use his men and not bother training anyone to strengthen their numbers.", I told her.

"I don't take that offensively, it is the truth...", Saya said hanging her head, "My parents haven't even bothered to send anyone out to look for me, nor have the broadcast anything to me."

"I am sure they are worried about you.", I told her, "After Rei's mother your parents are the next closest people. We should be headed to them in the next two days."

"Thank you.", she said with a soft smile.

Driving us over to the elementary school, we saw a small group of undead pounding on the entry door. Not wanting to take any chances, I told the women I would lure them to us and they would ambush them from behind. Reminding them to strike their heads, I pulled them away from the front door by shouting at the zombies. Stumbling over to me I grinned as the women struck them from behind. Watching Shizuka look away as she lightly hit one on the head with a shovel, I almost laughed at how cute she looked. Punching the zombie in the face, I made it's head explode making sure to avoid splattering anyone with the brain matter.

"Shizuka, you need to look where you are swinging and actually swing to kill. That swing wouldn't have injured anyone.", I told her.

"I am a lover, not a fighter.", she stated, "I don't like hurting people."

"These aren't people anymore, given a chance they will eat you!", Saya argued.

"Well that's why Victor will protect me, right?", Shizuka said pressing her assets against me, "I don't mind being the group physician, that is where my skills are best suited."

"Haha, where did you pick up this trick?", I teased.

"Rika used it on occasion to get free drinks.", Shizuka laughed, "Though I couldn't do it because it was too embarrassing."

Giving her a smile, I lead us to the front door where I got it open with a hairpin. Walking inside, I locked the door behind us and did a sweep of the building. Going room by room it was clear people were living here, but we weren't finding them. Checking my mini map, I located the survivors down in the bunker. Finding the hatch exposed I motioned for the women to stay close.

Going to turn the handle, I found that the wheel was frozen up. Noticing that it had electronic assists on it, it was very apparent that they were stuck inside. Using my superhuman strength to turn the wheel, the lock gave way and allowed me to retract the bolts holding the hatch closed. Forcing the hatch open we heard several scared children scream their heads off thinking we were zombies.

"We aren't here to hurt you.", I told them, "We are here to get you to a safe place. Come on out now, we took care of the monsters up here."

"Victor, is that you?", Takashi's mother asked holding a knife shakily at the hatch.

"Yes it is, your son and many others are currently at our temporary base.", I told her, "He is being stubborn as hell, hopefully you can soften him up a bit."

"Is Rei with you?", she inquired.

"I am here.", Rei replied.

"Thank goodness you and Takashi managed to escape.", she sighed with relief, "We are coming up."

Helping everyone out of the bunker, they gave me a grateful hug. Telling us they had been trapped down there since the power outage, the staff secretly thought that they were going to die down there. With no power they had no light, very light fresh air, and little to no water. Informing me that the pipes had completely rusted out, I immediately checked this site off as a potential base. We didn't have the time or equipment to repair the bunker to be useable.

"Shizuka, let's get everyone on the bus and while I get us home check the children out then the staff. Just make sure they are healthy, and let me know if we need to get them any medicine.", I told her.

"Roger, hehe, I sound like a soldier now.", Shizuka giggled.

"It takes more than saying roger to make you a soldier.", Saya sighed.

"Hehe.", Shizuka laughed not caring.

Getting the people loaded up, I did a quick rummage through the school food supplies and loaded up what I found to take with us. The drive back we relatively quiet, and when we got close I saw everyone working hard on getting the fence reinforced. Seeing her son working, Mrs. Komuro started getting anxious. Getting off the bus first, she ran over to him and hugged him tightly.

"Mom!?", Takashi gasped, "You...you were still at the elementary..?"

"We were trapped in the bunker, when the power went out the electrical motors used to open the hatch stopped working.", she told him.

Watching the kids and other staff get off the bus, a sense of guilt welled up inside him.

'I...I almost damned all of them to die down there...', he thought hugging his mother.

Getting the kids inside where it was cool, we got them fresh water and a meal to fill their stomachs. Passing out in the room Merna had cleaned up for them, I turned to Shizuka for a diagnosis.

"I really need to get them tetanus shots. They have small scratches likely from the bunker, and a few of the kids have the early signs of infection.", Shizuka stated, "We will need antibiotics, the vaccine for tetanus, and probably a good idea to get some IV bags. It may be necessary to get their fluids back up."

"Understood.", I replied, "I will go out to get what they need."

"Here is the amounts we will need.", she said handing me a slip of paper.

"Got it.", I answered.

"I want to come too.", Takashi spoke up surprising the others.

"Uh...", I said a little caught off by this, "Why the-"

"I just want to do something to help...I didn't think they would have gone in the bunker. If I had listened to you we may have stopped them from going in there.", he said clutching his hands tightly.

"I won't take you this time, we need the medicine stat and moving alone I can get around faster.", I told him, "That said, if you want to help them, work with Kohta on learning the basics of firearms. Right now we only have three people that can use a gun, and we are really going to need more people."

"Okay.", he said nodding his head.

"Kohta, he needs needs to know the basics like how to clear a jam, how to reload, and proper gun control. While I am out I will see about getting some training equipment, and more firearms.", I told Kohta, "Ideally I want everyone capable of holding a gun to be carrying one. That group from yesterday is going to be one of many, it's better for everyone to carry than just a few of us."

"We can handle that.", Merna stated, "God's speed."

Nodding my head I left the base, and headed out to locate the medication we needed.
