48. Dumb-founded Dumb-ledore

"Sir, as I said, you are also a human. Making mistakes is natural.

You do what you think is necessary, I just want to enjoy my school days, make lots of friends, charm lots of girls( He totally added it to piss off snape) and live happily without minding my past. I just hope there will be no hard feelings between us. " Harry said. He had to show this mature attitude to not always be treated like a child. Since he had decided to not be low key then he would present himself with all the show and pomp.

"Moreover sir, I can already see that Professor Snape and I will never get along. So I want to be free from detentions and Points deductions by him. I will not attend his classes and do my self studies for potion. I believe that will be more productive than attending his classes.

I will not tolerate his unruly behavior and his crass comments. If you agree with these arrangements then well and good but if you find yourself not agreeing to this then here is my application. I will leave Hogwarts and join some other more welcoming Wizarding school." Harry said his final decision with no intention of backing out.

"As if you have the right to do so.. Do you think someone expelled from Hogwarts will be accepted by any other renowned school." Snape sneered from the side.

"Severus!!! " Dumbledore said in a slightly raised voice. "I can see what Harry meant." He paused and then said, " From today onwards, Severus has no right to deduct or assign points from you neither can he assign you detentions."

"Harry, You don't have to transfer schools, I agree with your conditions. I just hope this incident will not be the final impression you make of Hogwarts."

How many lives Harry had lived. How could he not understand what Dumbledore and Snape were trying to do. isn't it just retreating one step to move forward more than 2 steps.

Snape was the head of Slytherin house for a reason. He had deliberately said those words to help Dumbledore finalise the matter. Dumbledore admitted that Snape was wrong, because by doing it he would be able to win back both Filius and McGonagall's trust. He also thought that he would be able to gain Harry's sympathy, not knowing that Harry has actually lived thousands of times more than him and would not be fooled by their pathetic games.

Moreover he did not directly prohibit Snape from deducting points or giving detentions to Harry's friends. If Harry asks him to give the same privileges to his friends then Dumbledore would be able to know which friends truly mattered to him. And if Harry did not ask for it then Snape would target those close to him and his housemates to create resentments in their hearts for being implicated because of Harry.

"Professor, Now that I think about it, it will really be unfair to others if I'm given this special treatment, and it will also alienate me from others.

I think, to ensure fairness, such arrangements can be made that, when Professor Snape deducts points, check and evaluate assignments or give detentions, students can ask their head of the house to review those decisions if they feel that is unfair.

The other 3 head of houses can use your pensieve to view students memories and if Professor Snape's actions are really found to be unjust or unfair, then house Slytherin as a whole will be punished for their head of the house' s fault." Harry said while directly increasing the effect of his aura on McGonagall and Flitwick.

"That's right. This is indeed a brilliant method Harry." Flitwick immediately said.

"I am very proud of you Harry. You did not forget about others while gaining benefits. For thinking about such a brilliant method, as well as for the kindness in your heart, I give you 5 points." McGonagall also praised him.

Listening to the words of both his ex-followers, Dumbledore was dumbfounded. He could not understand how Harry was able to make both of them stand against him but Harry's words and Professor's support forced Dumbledore to agree to it reluctantly afterall he has to act like a light lord in front of everyone. it could also not be denied that he was a very manipulative man who was already set in his own ways as Harry was sure that Dumbledore must had already started to think about his next move.

"Alright professor. Since the problem has been solved, may I have your permission to go now.. I have my first Herbology class to attend after all." Harry said politely. He knew Dumbledore would again call for him in some days so that he could talk to him in private, but Harry was confident in taking care of it at that time once again.

Harry walked out of Dumbledore's office together with McGonagall and Flitwick. Harry knew that it would not be so easy every time, he was only able to achieve such outstanding results because Dumbledore underestimated him and treated him like a child. But after this incident, he was not sure what he would do next.

"Professor! " Harry turned to look at Flitwick, " As much as I have seen and heard, most of the Slytherins are bullies. Then why is it that you both have been tolerating their and Professor Snape's unruly behavior all these years? . Isn't it just encouraging them and making them feel superior? " Harry asked, stopping before parting with them.

"It is not so simple, Harry. After the defeat of you-know-who, Slytherins actually needed protection from the other three houses otherwise they would have been ganged up and bullied to death. Professor Dumbledore has always told us to be lenient towards Slytherins so that they can survive and grow here." Flitwick explained patiently.

"Well sir, in my opinion, it was not the right thing to do.

There are ways to determine the truth of the matter, so by strictly implementing the rules, the student body could have been better guided instead of favouring one house. Reward for good work, punishment for bad work.

Like this year we have Draco Malfoy in Slytherin. With the way he has been raised by his parents, Lucius Malfoy being politically powerful and very rich and with snape being their head of the house, he can practically decide the life and death of his housemates.

It can lead to unimaginable consequences if not checked like think about some half-blood girl being sorted there. They can ruin her life and she would not be able to do anything as you guys do not involve yourself with their house.

Do you think such children will be able to tell Snape about it?

Do you think their parents would be able to do anything to Snape or Malfoy?

Do you really think Draco will not become a dark wizard in these circumstances? What would his attitude be towards those from other houses? He can cause wars between Slytherin and other houses. And this is just one malfoy, there are many other pure-bloods every year." Harry made his point and then left both professors to mull over it while he himself went to attend the Herbology lesson with his friends.
