167 HPMRS CH 167: Mahogany Town!

After breakfast, all the exchange students from Hogwarts changed into their daily clothes and were led by the professor to the small pier by the river where Castelobruxo was located. Except for a few pure-blooded wizards who are still wearing wizard robes out of their pride, the other little wizards have changed into Muggle clothes. After all, they don't have magic robes that can adjust the temperature and humidity outside the school. Wearing such a long robe in the tropical rainforest is not an easy task.

Of course, it is also possible that those purebloods have wonderful magic to prevent themselves from heatstroke, but from their sweaty appearance, it doesn't look like they have the magic robes that can adjust the temperature Ryan was really worried that they would fall directly to the ground due to heatstroke. After all, even though his body had been strengthened, he still felt very hot after only wearing a t-shirt and jeans. It is likely that if he had worn the robe on it, Ryan feels that he would already be having a heat stroke by now.

Ryan soon turned his attention away from clothes, because the boat to Mahogany Town was ready.

Mahogany Town is at the lower reaches of the river. After all, this is the center of the Amazon rainforest. To reduce the pressure on the Floo network, there is no magical transmission from Castelobruxo to Mahogany Town.

However, because both locations are by the river, the boat becomes a natural means of transportation between the school and the town. And now what appeared in front of Ryan was a huge canoe.

This canoe looks like it was hollowed out after sawing a tree about six meters in diameter from the middle, and there is a sunroof woven with leaves on it.

But obviously, this boat is not as simple as it looks. Under the impact of the river, one or two runes can be seen working from time to time on the canoe.

Ryan was worried that his clothes would be a bit too casual from others today, but after seeing the students of Castelobruxo on the boat, he found that his worries were unnecessary.

Because the local students wore more unrestrained clothes.

For example, David only wore a short-sleeved floral shirt on his upper body and a pair of beach pants underneath. His cousin is wearing short sleeves and denim shorts.

There are even a few local little wizards who seem to be indigenous, with only a circle of cloth around their waists, and their upper body is simply naked, with only a string of necklaces hanging around their necks.

"You are covering needlessly covering yourself up." David saw Ryan, greeted him, and said. "There are magic wards and special magic plants around Mahogany Town. The poisonous insects in the forest can't get in at all. There is no need to wrap yourself so tightly."

"I'm was just worried about my clothing being too casual, apparently I wasn't being impolite, hahaha, needless worrying it was," Ryan explained quickly.

"You British are weird. It's a time to relax. It's weird to dress so formally." David pointed to the pure-blooded wizards in wizard robes and said.

This Ryan can only shrug his shoulders helplessly because he has nothing to say to those pure-blood wizards who are just always looking for ways to make themselves suffer.

Soon after a shock, the canoe left the dock and drove downstream along with the turbid current of the river.

Because this is a place off the beaten track, the river maintains its most primitive appearance, and there are many obstructions in the middle of the river. But the canoe can always circumvent them under the influence of magic. Even if there are occasional debris hitting the boat, the magic on the boat can easily bounce those things and prevent them from harming the hull.

Therefore, there were no surprises and no dangers along the way. As the canoe decelerated, everyone reached the destination smoothly.

The reason why it is called Mahogany Town is that there are a large number of mahogany trees planted in and around the town.

The buildings in the town, whether they are of local temple style or European style, are all dotted among these tall trees. Although the styles of the houses are not uniform, the buildings embedded in the woods give the whole town a special sense of harmony.

Under the influence of magic, this town is not displayed on any known map like Hogsmeade, and even satellite photography can only capture a piece of primitive jungle.

Of course, these things have nothing to do with Ryan. He is now standing in front of a food stall waiting for the stall owner to make ice cream for him.

As soon as he arrived in town, Professor Sprout announced that everyone would gather at the pier at four in the afternoon. After that, everyone spread out and did whatever they wanted.

Because he wasn't familiar with the town at all, Ryan chose to wander around with Hermione who had done her homework beforehand.

After looking at two or three important historical sites, Ryan found that this history that took place on the other side of the globe did not arouse his interest at all. So after thinking for a while, he choose to give up visiting the ruins, this will save him a lot of time, Hermione took advantage of this opportunity and began to ask Ryan questions about runes.

Ryan answered the questions while wandering around the crowded places in the town, and soon they came to the commercial district of the town.

As long as there is no express prohibition in this kind of high-traffic place, there are bound to be countless food stalls taking advantage of the crowded areas to do business. The world of Muggles is like this, and the world of wizards is no exception. Ryan felt a little dry, so they immediately chose a food stall to buy an ice cream to get hydrated and cooled at the same time.

There is a dazzling array of food stalls on this street, which has attracted a group of British wizards who have come out of the food desert. For example, Ryan saw several seniors sitting in front of a certain stall eating and drinking. Even the little wizards were not only attracted by the food. Ryan saw Professor Silvanus Kettleburn, who was with the team, sitting on the street, eating barbecue and cold beer in one hand. After discovering Ryan and Hermione, he happily greeted them.

Walking along a few crowded commercial streets while discussing issues, it is only natural to taste special cuisine. Ryan suddenly realized that Hermione seemed very interested in sweets. So he curiously asked: "Why don't I see you interested in sweets so much back at home?"

Hermione, who was scooping a red jelly floating in the air with a spoon, paused, "You know my parents are dentists, and they are strict to me towards eating sweets, but these magical desserts are all natural and low-sugar, and won't harm your teeth."

It sounds reasonable. Ryan was thinking about stuffing his mouth with a golden fried thing that he didn't know what was wrapped in. After chewing, his eyes suddenly widened.

Why are the worms still alive after all this kind of dim sum is wrapped and fried?

Fortunately, due to the nationality of his previous life, he's open to eat anything, and after chewing a few more times, Ryan felt that the worms tasted good, so he finally ate them all without spoiling the food.

After all, he still had to eat at noon, and for betterment of Hermione, Ryan stopped her from trying it, who was eager to try other desserts on the street as well, and walked together to the bookstore.
