Chapter 29 - Further Exploration 1

After leaving the shop filled with animals they decided to explore the alley further before heading back— since they weren't sure when they would have the chance to do so again.

However walking around with the bird in a cage would be bothersome, so Albus decided to send it back home.

She wasn't sure what sort of spell he used, but with a flick of his wand, the cage vanished from her hands, leaving her stunned and confused.

"What was that?"

She asked him with eyes that didn't hide her amazement and curiosity about what he did.

Seeing this he couldn't help but smile under his hood, and explained it to her like a magician would a children's trick.

"Magic my dear girl. Just some simple magic."

'How annoying.'

She thought to herself instantly because of the vague reply. She would much prefer he told her the name of the spell so that she could research it— but knowing Albus that was all she was going to get.

It would definitely be useful to learn after all.

But she played with his ways for now.

"Can I do that someday?"

Of course, she would, that wasn't a matter of debate, she would find a way to do that one way or the other; but asking made her seem more innocent and childish.

"Of course, once you come of age and begin to attend Hogwarts, I will personally teach you how to do that, ok?"

If it wasn't confirmed before, that basically confirmed that she was going to Hogwarts when she reached the age required to attend it.

Meaning she would be attending the school at the same time as the main characters, Harry, Hermione, and the idiot Ron— yes she had a dislike for Ron due to his actions in the movies.

While it didn't change her goal, it definitely made it much easier for her to keep track of the happenings of the world through the storyline she remembered.

That is until she altered it.

And altered it she would— as she had no intentions of limiting herself under the excuse of 'keeping the future knowledge useful'.

That was a foolish premise that became irrelevant the second she arrived in this world, after all, her very being here changed the story.

Not to mention, she didn't need the storyline to be the same to benefit from it, as many of the things that happened in Harry Potter were already happening before the main trio arrived.

Plus, it would be much more fun.

And that was all she cared about— having a good time with the second chance at life she was given. Doing whatever she wanted.

Back to the situation at hand, she nodded her head and smiled to show her excitement about wanting to go to Hogwarts.

"I can't wait, I read so many amazing things about it, it looks so cool."

Her excitement wasn't false— naturally she played it up— but who wouldn't be excited to go to a place such as Hogwarts? People got excited for much less after all.

Albus smiled at her reaction and nodded, walking along the alleyway as he spoke once more.

"Maybe you can visit it with me sometime soon when the new term starts, I'm sure the teachers would like to meet you."

Now that was unexpected.

She didn't expect someone like Albus to suddenly allow her to visit the school even if she wasn't of age yet. But it made sense when she thought about it.

Like she said before, she was young and impressionable, he wanted to take the chance to get her hooked on the idea that Hogwarts is something magical she should look forward to.

And by taking her there before she had the chance to fully enroll— allowing her to experience it if even just a little— would naturally make her want to go back.

This way if anything unexpected happened, say the Dark Lord's followers finding her for whatever reason, she would be less tempted to follow them.

But obviously, that was just her theory, she couldn't possibly truly understand what was going on in someone like Albus' mind.

"Really? I would love to see it! I really wanna meet all the professors, I read so much about them."

She wasn't lying, she did have questions for some of the professors that could help her understand some things better, specifically with one Amigus professor that was similar to her.

But naturally, that would be in the future when Albus had grown less wary of her and was willing to bring her to the school after it resumed classes.

For now, however, they had to explore the Alleyway, and once that was over with, she would return to practicing her ability to move around in shadows, maybe even try to figure out how to teleport— as to have an easy way of traveling undetected by Albus.

"Of course, but let's continue for now."

Replied Albus as they continued to walk around the crowded street— so many wizards and witches were walking around it that it was rather easy to get lost.

Albus even had to hold onto her hand in case she was swept away by the crowd.
