9 Chapter 09: Getting used to life at the church(Part 1).
(A/N: Heavy manga spoilers for the latest chapters of Jujutsu Kaisen will be mentioned in this and further chapters.SO BE WARNED!!)

In an infinite darkness my consciousness sleepily awakes.My body floating aimlessly in the void.
'Wh-Where am I?' I ask myself with my mind still half asleep.I scan my surroundings, but everywhere I look its all black.An ineffable shade of black without any speck of light. This deep blackness that could awaken a primordial fear in people is somehow comforting to me.
I can fell my body in the void and can freely move it. But I can't see anything even if I put my hands on my face. I try to touch myself in different places to confirm my senses. 'Sense of touch check.' I clap my hands and I can hear a clap. 'Sound check.' I put my finger inside my mouth and my tongue can accurately feel it. 'Taste check.' I put my hands on my face to try to smell them. 'Sense of smell check.'
With all of that evidence gathered I come to two possible answers to my current situation. " I'm blind or still in the process of reincarnation." I mutter in the void. The first answer came from me being able to feel 4 out the 5 senses and the second answer came from the floating feeling I'm getting.
Though being blind might have its inconveniences it isn't that bad. For one all other senses will be boosted with Reikaku(Spiritual Sense) and Mana Sense it will basically even better than normal sight.
As for the other answer it might take a while before I wake in DxD, so I'll just ponder my scenarios of what I'll do since there's nothing I can think about it.
'Hmm I think I'll enroll in Kouh Academy and scout some of the other lesser known girls. I wonder what Zanpakuto (Soul-cutter Sword) the girls of the kendo club or Sona's Peerage will manifest.' I chuckle a bit thinking about the girls who would chase and punish Issei's Heavenly Pervert trio.
'But there's one thing I must ensure. I gotta bag Serafall.' I fantasize about my favorite waifu from the series. Though the are a myriad of good and bad waifu's, from my standpoint only two stood above the rest and they were the Devil King Serafall Leviathan and the Dragon God Orphis.
!!DING!!
While I'm in my delusions a notification rang in the quite void echoing near infinite space waking me up from my daydreams. Followed by a bright pale blue screen opening about a foot away from my face, almost blinding me. I squint my eyes to shield them from the light.
'So I can see then.' I rub my eyes to recover. After a minute I reopen them to look at the notification screen and what I see make question if they are working properly.

I stare at the screen for a few minutes dumbfounded not at the system but where it says 'Name'. Yes I see my name but the other one leaves me at an impasse.I see both positives and negatives in it.
Yeah perk of having Yuji's superhuman strength is and will be a help in my journey through DxD. BUT being on the receiving end of the 'Yuji treatment' is something I don't want to experience.
'Nah that won't happen, this is DxD not Jujutsu Kaisen right....right?' I try to push those those to the back of my head as I read the rest of the status page.
'Hmm. Reincarnating during the Tri- Faction War? In hindsight I never specified how, where and when I want to be reincarnated that's a blunder on my part. I might be pushing my luck but I think I can survive it and possibly reap some benefits so it is a perk too. I guess I should thank her ' I remember about the tall and buxom blonde angel.
Since Shinigami can basically live forever added with the power boost of both the hollow and Quincy side, I'm pretty confident that I can at least reach the power level of Ddraig and Albion in a couple of decades and reach the upper stratum of the Top 10 Strongest Beings in DxD in a few centuries at most.

I hear a womanly voice as the system makes its announcement. " Oh so she used her own voice for the system." I comment on the voice.
"We'll time to start my ascension through DxD."

For a while nothing happens and I start to think something's wrong. But after a few minutes a blood red light encroaches from an unknown source and slowly flows over blackness. My eyelids start to get heavy as I'm flung to sleep once again.

" Brother why is he's hair like that, also is it true that angels came last night?"askes a curious blonde haired 6 year old girl with light green eyes while she lightly poked the head of a pink haired baby.
"I don't know, go ask Mother Maria or Father Brown." responded her twin brother who was doing the same thing as his sister.
"But they said they were busy and that we shouldn't disturb them until they were done." she protested but her brother didn't answer but continued to poke the baby.
While they were doing that the baby's eyes fluttered and eventually open to see the ones who were disturbing its slumber revealing his brownish red eyes.
That's me the newly reincarnated David Smith or is it Yuji Itadori?. But let's forget about the names and stick with David to keep it simple.
It took a few minutes for him to grasp his situation.'So I'm a baby, I guess getting to train early and getting to condition my body is fine.' He thought.
After that that thought David looked around but something was blocking his vision, two sets of light brown eyes stared back at him."Look brother he woke up, he's so pretty and he looks like a girl don't you think." The girl spoke excitedly as she bounced up and down.
"Hey can you say Alice. Say A-l-i-c-e, that's my name!" Alice spoke energetically. David looked at the girl incredulously, questioning her intelligence.'Hah child ignorance is bliss ."Uh Alice I think It's too-- " Just as her brother was to bring back to earth they were disturbed.
"Hey you two! Didn't Mother Maria tell you not to disturb David! Hmm!". Shouted another 6 year old girl while puffing up her cheeks,she had greyish hair with orange coloured eyes.She is also slightly shorter that the twins .
"Ehhh!?Why? I'm not doing anything wrong, just playing with him and why are you alway so grumpy." Cried out Alice at this injustice. "That's the problem. Now go away to play or something." Answered the grey haired girl.
"And what if I don't." Asserted Alice as she took a domineering stance. Placing her hands on her small hips and puffing out her chest outward.
"Hmm!".The grey haired girl didn't answer but she responded with a stance of her own. Crossing her arms and looking directly into Alice's eyes.
"C'mon what are you gonna do short stuff heh." Chuckled Alice cleary happy about her insult cause her brother to sigh.
"I'm gonna tell Mother Maria on you." The grey haired girl shot back in defiance.
"I dare you, no I double dare you." Alice sassed back and glared at the grey haired girl.
The grey haired grumbled because her threat didn't scare the flaxen haired girl but didn't give up. Instead she answered the blonde girl with a glare of her own.
The air between them became tense with their standoff and whether if it was real or not, one could see lightning. But the standoff was disturbed by a third party.
"Now, now~ you too. What is with all this fuss in the Lord's house." A female gentle voice spoke those words while a pair of hands patted the two quarreling girls.
"It's not me, it was Lily who started it." Alice hurriedly spoke her case to the head nun of the church they where residing in, Mother Maria Brown.
Mother Maria has the appearance of a middle-aged woman in her early forties. She has dark brown hair with matching coloured eyes. Her clothes are the typical nun clothes found in this era.
She and the priest of the church were discussing how they should treat the 'miracle child' delivered by the angels yesterday.
Their higher-ups told them to just observe for now.'The Lord shall choose his path, whether he becomes involved in the supernatural or not will be his choice.' She reminisced as she glanced to David who was awake.
She chuckled at the blonde girl's expression."Now Lilian although it is right to tell people when they do wrong things, they way you do it should be a little gentler." Maria reprimanded the grey-haired girl. The girl would be a nun in training so she needed to learn these things.
"O-Okay." Lilian uttered dejectidly as she looked down in shame.
"Now,now~.You don't have to look so sad. This is part of your training ,cheer up okay ." Maria affirmed trying to cheer up the grey haired girl while stroking her head softly.
"Un." Lilian nodded.
"Now how is our little cherry blossom?" Said Maria as she went to the cradle holding the little 'cherry blossom' David to check on him, Alice chuckled at this nickname.
"Alex how about you get some milk from outside for me please~?" Maria requested Alex, Alice's twin brother to get the milk from the cows outside.
The Church had a few livestock for produce and meat, as for the other things like bread were donation from the village.
"Yes." Alex uttered as he walked out to the backdoor where they would keep the livestock.
Maria got to the cradle and looked at the pink haired baby boy, scratch that more like analyze him. Meanwhile David also looked at her. ' So she's a nun. Probably should act like a baby to not draw attention, wouldn't want to make a big slash in the metaphorical puddle right?' David thought after feeling the critical gaze from the nun so he thought of a plan.
David then started to play his act as an cute innocent baby by making 'cute' baby actions and noises, by reaching out his hands. Maria looked at him for a few seconds before picking him up and cradling him in her arms then walking out of the room to the prayer hall, followed suit by Alice and Lilian.
"Lilian would you be a dear and fetch some Holy Water?" Said Maria. "Yes Mother." quickly answered Lilian and dashed off, she had already learned a few things and new what Mother Maria was planning to do.
After a minute she returned with some Holy Water in a metal cup and handed it to Maria. And once Maria took it she headed to the altar below a cross shaped statue. She striped David of his blanket and clothes before placing him on the altar.
She the closed her eyes and clasped her hands to pray and the two girls beside her responded in kind. "Oh dear Father we've come on this glorious day to bless your child in your Holy name." She prayed a little and opened her eyes.
She poured a little water in her cupped hand lightly sprinkled a bit on David's head cause the baby to flinch out of reflex. On his forehead she made a cross shaped pattern with her finger." We bless your child David in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. May you shower him in your love. Amen."
"Amen." The girls beside her also muttered.
After that David was bathed in a golden light that resonated with their prayers.
