5 Chapter 05: Things that go bumb in the night.

The constant sound of rain hitting the ground echoed through the night. A figure can be seen running in the rain holding a package in her arms tightly yet gently.Its a woman wearing rags and had a dagger tied by her waist.She had side swepted jet-black hair.

Blood is flowing profusely from the three claw mark like wounds on her forehead going vertically and one crossing through all three horizontally, she still ran even with the blood getting in her eyes. Because she knew that if she was caught it would spell a world of never ending suffering for her and the package in her arms.

After some time of time the woman was getting more and more tired and her assailants were getting closer by the second. A thumping sound can be heard behind her gradually getting louder until it's meter away from her.

The woman grits her teeth after hearing the thumping getting closer.She reluctantly let go of her package with her right hand to grab the dagger on her waist and try to fend of her attacker.

Turning around she faced the werewolf type creature that was getting ready to pounce on her.She tried to slash at the wolf but it easily dodged the attack by jumping into the air and miraculously sprouted jet-black bat wings from its back.

"Damn devils."The woman said with animosity in her voice.Her hatred for the race grew exponentially after they had killed her husband and father-in-law and after a tough fight she tried to escape with her package they chased her for three hole days nonstop .She had grown tired of this cat and mouse game.

She tried to shake them of by running away and using the techniques in her arsenal but all of them failed.She had reached her limit but what kept her going was the package she currently had. All the of the effort put in by her,her husband and father-in-law would be for nothing if she gave up now.

She needed to get to the village on the horizon if she wanted to survive with her package. The village in the distance was angel territory. ' Since devils and angels were mortal enemies they would avoid that place right?.' She thought while protecting her package from the rain with a pink cloth."I'm sorry little one."

"Are you so useless that you cannot capture an injured woman by yourself?."A voice filled with contempt at the werewolf echoed through the night as another figure came into light , this caused the woman to shot a glare at the arrogant and very, very annoying enemy because he was the one who always gave orders when her happy family got attacked by devils.

"I'm sorry Lord Naberius, you said to bring her in good condition and she uses some kind of strange magic..."muttered the werewolf devil nervously addressing its master in midair.

"Oh so you blame me for your incompetence, this sounds like bad behavior from a pawn.... you will be punished later for this." said Lord Naberius this caused the werewolf to shudder violently. A handsome man wearing a black suit.His dense aura a representation of his High Class Devil rank..He also had to people behind him one male, one female both had knight armour and one pair of bat wings each.

While the man named Lord Naberius was addressing his pawn the woman was gathering every bit of her strange energy on her legs for one final push.She looked at the village and burst forth with incredible speed that surprised the Lord and all his servants. 

"Stop gawking and chase her you stupid mongrel." Naberius exclaimed which broke everyone else from their daze and flew as fast as they could. Even then they couldn't cover the distance fast enough before the woman entered the medieval village still continuing forward. 

"My Lord this place is angel territory what should we do?. " questioned the female knight in a frightful tone . Right now the three Great Factions were at war and she had been to the battlefield and seen the power of the angels and their father.

"We've come this far and this pitiful village is only guarded by a low level angel."Naberius said arrogantly." Since your so incompetent I'll assign you to fight the angel or are you so weak that you cannot fight a low level angel." he added.He also sent the female knight to the fleeing woman.

Once they entered the village the angel was alerted by their devil aura and emidiatly called for reinforcement, even though the angel knew that they were running low on manpower fighting on many fronts.He would have not called if they where low rank devils but there was a high rank with them, this was a cause for concern.The angel came out to fight and buy time for reinforcements and was quickly confronted by the werewolf devil.

While the fight was happening in the sky the female devil knight got to the ground retracted her wings and crouched down holding her sword with her right hand . She used her devil magic to propel her at breakneck speed and quickly reach the ever running woman. Once she reached her she drew her sword from its sheath and slash diagonally at the womans back.

The woman fell to her knees drained of all stamina and endurance in her body. She looked at her package and lightly removed the cloth covering it revealing a chubby baby face.She looked at the baby and unending feelings of maternal love and dreadful sorrow filled her heart.

"I'm sorry father."she apologized to her father-in-law who bought time for her and her husband to escape. "I'm sorry Jin." she apologized to her husband hold sacrificed himself to block a fatal strike aimed at her. "And.....I'm sorry little Yuji."she apologized to her son while kissing his forehead with tears flowing from her eyes causing the baby to wake up and cry.

"You should give up." coldly muttered the female devil knight. She wasn't sadistic like her master and the scene was tugging at her heartstrings. If she didn't know how dangerous this woman was she would've let her go.....but.... her master had other plans for the woman.

The woman set her baby in the ground pushing it away and because of the water on the ground because of the rain it slid quite a distance away.The woman looked at the bundle of cloth for a short while before getting up.

The pain from forcefully getting up caused her face to grimace. She turned around to look at the female devil knight, the fight happening up at the sky above and the annoying Naberius grasping her situation and feeling a myriad of different emotions.

She took a deep long breath even though it hurt to even breath and used all the negative emotions she felt to fuel her strange energy. She brought her dangling hands up to infront of her and made a hand sign.'I know this won't change anything but this is the least a mother can do for her child right?.'she taught to herself while getting ready to sacrifice her life for her last spell.

"DOMAIN EXPANSI....uhhhgggh." she tried to cast her spell but the devil was a step faster. In one fast motion she cut one of the womans hands."Do you seriously think I'll let you do that again. Well you're surly mistaken." Stated the female knight while making another movement. With her other hand she punched the woman squarely in the face knocking her out she didn't want the woman to use the the same technique that killed nearly half of their team a few days earlier.

The womans body fell unceremoniously fell to the ground knocked out. The female devil knight looked at her body for a few minutes before grabbing her like a sack of potatoes and putting the woman on her shoulder. She casually walked to the baby intending to grab it too. But the unexpected happened.

A spear of light was thrown from the sky and nearly hit or most likely killed her. The female devil knight looked up and her face emidiatly turned pale at the sight she was seeing.

A golden light bathed the rainy night sky in its brilliance as a new force arrived on the battlefield. They were the reinforcements of the angels, some of the were regular angels with on pair of dove white wings. But one was different because this particular angel had 12 pairs of wings, it was a Seraphim.

And sorry I'm late. I was researching stuff for the fanfic. And I'd like to ask, are my chapters too long or too short. I want to know from you guys.
