2 Feels Like Home

Third Person POV:

Six years later, after all these years, he found himself walking into Nick Fury's office. Through the glass windows, he could see the rest of the avengers inside, Steve stared at him as he walked inside the office he sat as far away from him as possible. They began their meeting but suddenly halfway through a phone started to ring. Everyone glanced at Tony, the ringtone was definitely coming from him. He took his phone out of his pocket checking the caller I.D quickly "Sorry I gotta get this it's important" he claimed getting up from his chair stepping far away from the avengers as possible finally answering his phone

"Hello?" he whispered trying his best to keep this conversation a secret as possible. Tony knew it was his daughter calling probably wondering where he was. For he promised he was going to go pick her up from school. "Daddy where are you? Auntie Pepper told me you left" she sounded sad, she was mad at him for not keeping his promise. But if he stopped at Shawarma's on his way home she would be his happy little girl once again" Daddy is busy right now sweetheart but I'll be home soon ok? Just be a good girl don't forget that I love you" the rest of the Avengers were staring at the inventor waiting for him hang up his phone.

Steve was listening closely to his conversation but the only thing he could hear was 'daddy' and 'I love you' which made him think if he had found someone else. He couldn't blame him for they did break up six years ago he was no one to ask him for explanations he was free to date whoever he wanted. But he couldn't help but feel jealous, just thinking Tony was with someone else that wasn't him "Ok I love you too daddy bye" He hung up his phone and turned around realizing that everyone was staring at him.

"Sorry my daughter, promised her to take her some Shwarma on my way home anyway where were we?" they did have to find out eventually, but they couldn't know that Steve was the other father not right now at least. The super-soldier couldn't believe it, he had a daughter and it was probably his and Pepper, who else? He imagined Tony and his new family with their beautiful daughter. He shook his head trying to put his mind on something else he had other things to worry about.

The super soldier looked up and realized that there was nobody there anymore except for Tony who stood in front of him. The meeting must have ended sooner than he thought "Hey, how you been?" he asked softly, Steve glanced up at him as if trying to read his facial expression. Wondering if he was being sincere since they last spoken words were thrown at each other that neither of them meant. But those words hurt Tony more than anyone...

Flashback:

It was the day after the battle between everyone's favorite superheroes, and there was still a lot of things they needed to talk about. So many words that needed to be said but they were both so stubborn to even talk to each other at all. It was all said and done when Tony found out the truth but Steve still had some things to say to him. So now he stood at the doorstep of the stark tower.

He ranged the doorbell and after a few minutes, Tony opened the door. He sighed walking back inside but leaving the door wide open allowing the super soldier to come inside "Tony we need to talk"I already told you everything I needed to tell you" he answered coldly walking over to his bar and poured himself a cup of scotch. Their relationship was now falling apart, what was once a beautiful love that they shared was dead

"Can you not drink for once in your life and listen"Tony gazed up at him he had never seen this side of Steve before he had to admit he was a bit hot when he was mad but he also knew that this was not the time to think about that."What do you want to tell me that I don't know already, that your friend killed my parents. How you hide that from me just to save his ass", "I was just trying to protect him, to protect you, Tony. Trust me the last thing I wanted was to hurt you" Steve was standing so close to him that the mechanic could feel his breath on his neck as he was giving his back to him now.

He wanted so bad to forgive him but he couldn't there was always something that stopped him." There nothing else to say, Steve, I think we should call our relationship off"the super-soldier turned him around as he intently looked into his eyes he couldn't believe what he was hearing. Their relationship was over just like that, Steve was left speechless

"Wait Tony this is absurd, you're going to throw away three years of our lives?" he stopped before he could go on any further catching himself on what he was saying and immediately regretting every single word."Absurd? Absurd is not telling the person you supposedly love that his fuckin friend kill his parents. Those weren't your parents that die, Steve, you were not the one who regretted every day that I didn't tell them how much I loved them. So call it what you want but I can't be with a person who keeps things from me just because they prefer to save their friend's ass then your boyfriend" with that he threw the cup to the floor the glass shattering everywhere making Steve slightly jumped. That was the last proper conversation they had, it was the end of their relationship.

Current Day:

Steve stared up at him with no expression on his face; he couldn't come up with something proper to tell him, nevertheless speak to him without stuttering. The super soldier looked down at his hands "Good busy" was his only replied, Tony nodded his head stilling looking down at him, Steve seemed sort of sad but the mechanic wasn't sure why "I can imagine" "I didn't know you had a daughter, I never thought you and Pepper were that serious"Tony looked away, of course, he wouldn't him and Pepper were nothing more than friends.

Though she wanted to, the inventor had told her multiple times that he still had feelings for Steve even after what he had done to him. It was just something that he couldn't help but feel and he reckons that it will never go away "Yeah me either to be honest" he whispered, Steve looked up at him quickly surprised at his comment like he wasn't even sure himself "What?". "Nothing, anyways it's good to see you again" the super-soldier smiled and nodded his head, something was telling him that things were going to turn out different this time around. Both men had an opportunity on a second chance to make it right "It's nice to see you too Tony" but how could Steve fix it when the damage would be hard to repair. But yet the super-soldier felt confident that he and Tony were going to be more than friends once again...he just had a feeling.
