20 Slither and Crawl

'Fire Style: Great Fireball Jutsu!' I called out within my mind as a large orange fireball exited my mouth.

The large fireball flew for a couple of feet before hitting the lake and exploding into a tower of steam.

Smiling at my success, I turned toward the egg next to me and groaned as I noticed it sitting in a muddy puddle.

It would seem that my jutsu practice had wet the ground and made mud under the egg.

"Alright, buddy, time to go back into the system while I clean this shit up..." I told the egg, speaking as though it were listening.

It had been two days or so since I created my new Rasengan and I haven't been doing anything but training and nurturing my egg.

Actually, that was a lie. I did in fact take a break to get some more DP from spending time with Hanabi and Sakura, but it was only for a couple of hours.

I managed to collect around 650 more DP from my visits to Hanabi and 450 from using Sakura.

But, aside from that part of things, I WAS solely doing the previously mentioned.

Overall, my results were incredibly fruitful for only practicing two days. Probably due to my Chakra Control talent.

I had learned one new wind-style jutsu, two new fire-style jutsu, had developed my fuinjutsu ability to level higher than the average shinobi, though not quite genius-level yet, and had decided to make only two custom items using the system.

I was on an absolute roll. Customizing myself to gain a Chakra Control talent was the best decision I could have made.

Though, from here on, I planned on conserving my DP until something actually worth it came up.

The wind jutsu I learned was [Wind Style: Breakthrough].

The fire jutsus were [Fire Style: Great Fireball] and [Fire Style: Flame Capture].

And finally, the custom item I made was this...

[Name: Egg Incubator]

[Explanation: An incubator made to incubate the [Blank Egg] in an environment perfectly suited for its development. Simulates an [Ice], [Darkness], and [Spatial] environment]

[DP Cost: 800/100]

It was nothing but a simple incubator to help grow my egg at a faster, safer, and more optimized way.

The reason for the total count of DP missing 300 points was due to the second customization.

In regards to the second customization I made... Well, it was currently growing and nurturing itself within me using my chakra.

Unfortunately, what the customization is will remain a little secret for now.

Anyways, aside from the previously mentioned and the numerous new jutsus I've learned, my egg has also made a bit of progress.

This morning, I had awoken, brought out my egg and was surprised to see my egg had gained a slight icy-blue tint on its blank exterior.

If that wasn't a sign of progress I don't know what is.

And another thing I had noticed during my training was that a cold chakra would regularly pass by while I was training and stare at me.

I didn't bother confronting them since I wasn't doing anything special and they wouldn't really care much for the egg, but I could guess who it was.

It was most likely Mitsuki who, when going to Orochimaru, happened upon me and got curious.

How did I know she was most likely visiting Orochimaru? Well, because we are in the exterior corner of a dark forest, isolated from everyone and really close to a cave system. Not to mention the very-noticeable amount of snakes nearby.

It would be reasonable to assume that a certain Orochimaru had one of its bases set up somewhere near here.

I didn't really mind her innocent curiosity much since I did enjoy flexing my incredible power but I did find it strange how I caught her eye.

After all, she originally should've been fascinated with Boruto but I guess it would make some sense for her obsession to switch over to me.

I am much more of an interesting subject in comparison to her at the current moment due to my "Kekkei Genkai" so it was to be expected.

Though I do wonder when she will outright talk to me.

In conclusion, the last few days were incredibly beneficial to me and I'm good as ever.

However, now that two days have passed, it was time for me to pack my things and prepare for a certain event.

The event I speak of is the special assignment.

I don't know what it is specifically, but, from whatever information I got from Naruko, I could guess that we would be going somewhere and staying there for a few days.

The reason is that Naruko said that Sayuri would take me out of the village during the assignment which could only work if the assignment was away from the village slightly and if we were staying for a few days since Naruko also said that Sayuri would only get here in a week or so.

So now I have to get everything I need, prepared for finally leaving the village for a long while with Sayuri.

This opportunity was quite an interesting one. I could learn a lot with Sayuri's help, I had an opportunity to explore outside the village, and I could possibly have my way with Sayuri as well.

Overall, I was quite optimistic about this little journey of mine and needed to prepare swiftly since the academy starts soon.

However, there was just one particular thing that I absolutely needed to do before heading out today.

It was a certain matter pertaining mainly to Mitsuki and my egg. You see, I was informed by the system that the first thing consumed by the egg would have a large effect on its development.

And since Mitsuki's blood was the first thing that was consumed, the egg would be influenced by that.

Which was why I intended to strike a deal with Mitsuki to get some sort of supply of her blood or something similar.

The reason I assumed that I would be able to strike a deal with her was due to her oblivious and inherently unaware nature. She most likely wouldn't think twice about it.

The elements that I am making the egg grow up to be able to use would just be concepts or powers, however things like blood would basically serve as the genetic, physical, and corporeal basis of the creature that would come out.

Which is why me getting a supply of her substances was important.

But I could just ask her at the academy, for now I needed to go pack up all of my more important shit.

With that thought in mind, I opened a brown scroll on my belt, sealing all my fuinjutsu equipment inside before swiftly jumping away.

After a few seconds of jumping through the trees, I landed back onto the smooth streets of the village and started casually walking forward.

While I was walking through the village, I suddenly noticed the same cold chakra from before nearby.

I turned to my right with a restrained smirk, "Alright, then... Way to make it easy..." I muttered as I walked towards Mitsuki, watching as her chakra fluctuated in surprise.

My senses picked up her chakra slowly moving away as it fluctuated in a manner that displayed confusion.

As I walked towards her general direction and she made her way backwards, I walked even faster and waved my hands with a smile.

"Hello, Mitsuki!" I spoke in a strangely cheery and incredibly loud voice as I felt her chakra spike up upon hearing me.

She concealed her chakra upon hearing me, however, I started running toward her swiftly and quickly found myself in front of a surprised Mitsuki.

"Hey, Mitsuki. Why'd you ignore me?" I asked the pale-faced girl as her surprise suddenly faded back into the usual blank smile.

"Apologies, I just wasn't planning on you sensing me," She stated bluntly as I raised an eyebrow in question.

"Because you're stalking me. Did you not know I was a sensor?" I spoke in an equally as blunt tone as she nodded and smiled.

"Indeed. Though, I had my suspicions that you were a sensor, I wasn't sure until now," She stated in a thankful tone.

I stared at her thankful smile in disbelief before shaking my head with an amused chuckle.

"You're pretty funny. But why were you stalking me anyways?" I asked curiously as I started walking.

Mitsuki noticed me walking and got confused as to where I was going, "Where are you going?"

Disbelief dawned on my face, "Huh? You're supposed to follow..." I muttered.

"I see," She responded swiftly, walking next to me as though nothing was wrong.

"As far as your question goes, I was simply interested in you," She explained in her smooth voice as the two of us continued down the streets.

"Well, for what it's worth, I can firmly say I'm also interested in you," I drawled in a creepier tone that she failed to notice as I rested my arm on her shoulder.

She glanced confusedly at the arm, "Is this a defensive technique?" She inquired as I rolled my eyes.

"No, it's an affectionate gesture to suggest to the other person that they have a close relationship," I explained to the emotionless girl.

Mitsuki nodded after a second and then turned to me once more with an inquisitive look on her face.

"Does that mean we have what one would call a close relationship?" She innocently inquired as I smiled and brought her in closer.

She seemed to be quite a bit grown body-wise despite her young age, which was probably a result of her unnatural nature.

"Of course, I thought we already established that we're friends..." I stated in a matter-of-fact tone as she gained a pondering look.

"Friends? I quite like that..." She muttered, a few distant embers of humanity peeking through as I smiled to myself.

This provided the perfect opportunity to get exactly what I needed.

We spent the next couple of minutes talking to each other as we continued to walk through the village at a slow pace.

Throughout our walk, Mitsuki gradually became more used to my presence and eased up around me.

And by the time we found ourselves standing in front of my home, I could sense and see that Mitsuki was much more comfortable with me around.

Granted, Mitsuki being "much more comfortable" is like a retarded squirrel being slightly wiser when around a nut.

Basically, her being comfortable with me is still her being emotionless and blank-faced. Only difference being that she would probably prefer being around me than most other people.

Not to mention the fact that I already had her favour due to my status as someone interesting.

"Well, we're here, Mitsuki, I'll see you during the special assignment..." I spoke in a tone of finality as Mitsuki turned away only for me to get an idea.

"Actually, Mitsuki, why don't you come inside with me?" I asked with a smile as Mitsuki tilted her head and thought about it for a moment.

"I do not see why not," She answered with a slight shrug as the two of us entered through the door to my home.

The moment Mitsuki stepped inside my house, I could visibly see her shiver due to the cold air conditioner.

It would seem that she hates the cold. Noted.

I was about to turn to Mitsuki to speak but was quickly interrupted as I heard footsteps coming from the stairs.

"Huh? Akuto, who did you bring home?" Naruko questioned with false confusion in her voice as she walked down the stairs.

So she is pretending to not know who Mitsuki is, huh?

"This is Mitsuki. We recently became good friends," I explained to the blonde woman as she turned to Mitsuki.

"Well, nice to meet you, Mitsuki! What are you guys planning on doing?" She inquired sweetly as I spoke up before Mitsuki could respond.

"We were just gonna hang out until it was time to go to the academy," I explained swiftly as Naruko nodded and walked up to the door.

She was about to leave the house, but turned back to me and hugged me momentarily before turning back.

"I'll see you at the academy, Akuto," Naruko spoke in farewell as I waved her out the door, leaving only me and Mitsuki.

I clapped my hands, "Well, alright then, why don't you come upstairs with me?" Without any delay, the two of us entered my room.

Upon entering my room, I got Mitsuki to take a seat at the desk and then took my own seat on my bed.

After a moment of adjustment, I turned to Mitsuki who seemed out of place with a serious expression on my face.

"I'm going to be needing a favour from you, Mitsuki..."
